  • The key is to have both. That way you never wonder.

  • so if i want pure 35mm on my 60D i must use a 24mm lens?

  • WHEN THE WIND BLOWS HIS HAIR!!!! pure awesome.....

  • plz can you do one of how to blur image background

    PS luv ur vids

  • Do you still have to x1.5 a DX lens on a DX Body?

  • in this your wrong, the d60 does not have af on non af-s lenses

  • It would be funny if a bird flew in his hair.

  • so who else had to go back every 20 seconds cuz your brain gets distracted by his G hair and how chill his posture is.

  • i have the nikon d3000, will the 50mm 1.8 fx lense work for it?

  • @vic108701 Yes, the 50 1.8mm F1.8 will work on your D3K :).

  • @4Alpha7Kilo That was a fail, haha the 50mm F1.8 lens WILL work on your D3000. :)

  • This is so much better than the book digital photography by scoot kelby

    and it's free

  • @PS2Reviewer that is very good to know. This was a year ago and the content has gotten a lot better i think.

  • How do you know I'm not shooting film?

  • Boooo on content! Nice hair though! You looks cute!

  • my old friend just saw me watching you here and he ask me what is that on your head and I said it's your hair. then he said you need a haircut, and it's a fire hazard he said and I just laugh. I had nothing to say. he makes lots of funny comments so I just let him go. he's too old.

  • Hi Jared, I have a Nikon D40 for 2 years now.. I`m a beginner in photography.. but is my hobby and i love it very much.. and i wanna ask you wich is best in the way to capture a photo.. my camera has a tilt sensor or something like that.. and I know what it means.. but is best with or without ?

I SHOOT RAW every time! Best wishes!

  • you really are the best :)

  • easy explanation , Keep it up , dude

  • u r the best....:)

  • hey, nice video. now i know what is FX and DX body, thanks, two thumbs up!

  • Hey Jared, I'm still a bit confused... I've got a D5000 with an 18-55 and a 55-200. I now know that their 35mm equivalent would be 1.5x that, however, because they are DX lenses, has Nikon already converted it? In other words, on a DX Body with a DX lens, will the pictures be the focal length that it says. (sorry if it's a confusing question!) Thanks.

  • @DavidJWilliams49 I don't beleve so.

    Your 55-200 *should* be a 35mm equiv. of 82-300mm.

Your 18-55 is likely an equiv. of 27-82.

Of course, there are slight variations (28 equiv. is paper, 27-point-[gibberish] is technical).

Hope that's a slightly easy to understand explanation ;D

  • You sound like a genius but you freaking confused me.lol I'll have to watch this over and over. I got a t2i and planning to buy a 50mm f1.4. Is that a wise decision? Since you mentioned most prime lens are full framed and I know that t2i's are cropped sensors. So one more question. The t2i has the smallest sensor of the 3 sensors, or is it the middle road sensor?

  • Comment removed

  • So that means if I buy a 24-70mm f/2.8 for my D3000 it will essentially be a 36-105mm lens?

  • @jamesandrew58 yeah!

  • thanks for the video man.

  • Hey I want to buy the Nikon D7000 but it has a dx sensor. now I wonder should I wait for a new Fx Dslr or Do I also get professional results with a Nikon D7000(dx-sensor)?

  • you simply have epic hair

  • CARLITO! L-O-L.

  • the d60 wont autofocus with every lens, i think you meant to say the d50

  • you are awesum.....ahhh am planin to go for a cannon 550d....but do i go for a higher grade camera with a full frame sensor.

  • I need that shirt! Amazing.

  • @crappyphotoguy You can pick one up at FroKnowsPhoto dot come here is a code for 5 percent off at check out type in FROKNOWS

  • Just curious what you think of the Canon 7D....It's "1.6X crop sensor" camera. Do you just hate Canon? Do you think the 7D is an okay camera? Nikon D300s? Thanks

  • @nate42nd 7d is a very solid camera in their lineup. Great for photos and video, fast autofocus nice metering so on so forth. If you are going cannon than its a nice camera to go with.

  • how cool is the bokeh on the back

  • Very informative, Jared! Thanks

  • I just started watching your videos maybe a week back and I've never been more inspired to go out and shoot pictures. Thanks Jared! You are awesome.

  • @whoisthisthenno thats awesome!!!!! Have you signed up for the e mail list?

  • @JaredPolin Of course! Didn't want to miss out on that ebook. Great stuff.

  • @JaredPolin How do i sign up for the email list?

  • @JaredPolin How do i sign up for the email list? i am a new subscriber and photographer and i've learned a lot from you Jared, keep up the good work!

  • i want to ask if i use DX lens on the FX dslr , i turn on the DX mode in the d700 or d3 , will the DX mode in the d700 or d3 affedct their ISO Performance ?

  • @rahkshi007 Now I am not fully sure but I would think that yes your higher ISOs would not be as good because you are not using all of the pixels on the full frame sensor.

  • @JaredPolin ok thanks ..

  • wouldn't landscape photographers prefer FX (full frame) over DX, considering they'd likely be using a wide/super-wide angle lens and the full frame camera have a larger field of view? This is part of the reason why I want to move to FX (being a landscape enthusiast), and this is what I understood. Pardon my ignorance, if im wrong. Thanks

  • @ragnarocking yup, its perfect for landscape photographers as they can get a wider field of view!!

  • Thanks for mentioning Canon. I didn't know they had a 1.3X crop factor on any cameras. The 7D perhaps? I don't think so......what Canon has a 1.3X crop factor? Thanks

  • @nate42nd hey there I will be doing a lot more canon stuff coming up. The 1dMk3 and 4 are 1.3x

  • @JaredPolin Thanks man! I did not know that.

  • thanks for the video!!

  • Canon crop factors are:

    APS-C - X1.6

    APS-H - X1.3

    FF - 1.0

    I think, i'm not a canon shooter.

  • @DivineOverlord666 oh yea aps - H lol

  • The D60 will not autofocus without AF-S lenses. That was probably a little mistake though.

  • @jjolddahgoo yes you are correct my mistake, thank you for point it out!!!

  • @jjolddahgoo Unfortunately :(

  • @JaredPolin Yeah I know it is, but they said if u put a DX lens on the D3s, then the crop factor is 1.2... true or false?

  • @zeyshaan false, its 1.5 cropped, ive never done it or would do it. You can also crop 4-5 ratio for 810.

  • @zeyshaan cool, didn't like the idea of 1.2 anyways, give me a full frame or give me more zooming power as in a 1.5 crop :-)

  • Doesn't the Nikon have three modes as well now? As in the 1.2 DX crop they came out with in the Nikon D3s? I saw that in one of the product launch videos, and since u r using the cam, maybe u can confirm this for me... as always, lovin the videos and looking forward to more of such great work
