my old friend just saw me watching you here and he ask me what is that on your head and I said it's your hair. then he said you need a haircut, and it's a fire hazard he said and I just laugh. I had nothing to say. he makes lots of funny comments so I just let him go. he's too old.
Hi Jared, I have a Nikon D40 for 2 years now.. I`m a beginner in photography.. but is my hobby and i love it very much.. and i wanna ask you wich is best in the way to capture a photo.. my camera has a tilt sensor or something like that.. and I know what it means.. but is best with or without ?
Hey Jared, I'm still a bit confused... I've got a D5000 with an 18-55 and a 55-200. I now know that their 35mm equivalent would be 1.5x that, however, because they are DX lenses, has Nikon already converted it? In other words, on a DX Body with a DX lens, will the pictures be the focal length that it says. (sorry if it's a confusing question!) Thanks.
You sound like a genius but you freaking confused me.lol I'll have to watch this over and over. I got a t2i and planning to buy a 50mm f1.4. Is that a wise decision? Since you mentioned most prime lens are full framed and I know that t2i's are cropped sensors. So one more question. The t2i has the smallest sensor of the 3 sensors, or is it the middle road sensor?
Hey I want to buy the Nikon D7000 but it has a dx sensor. now I wonder should I wait for a new Fx Dslr or Do I also get professional results with a Nikon D7000(dx-sensor)?
Just curious what you think of the Canon 7D....It's "1.6X crop sensor" camera. Do you just hate Canon? Do you think the 7D is an okay camera? Nikon D300s? Thanks
@nate42nd 7d is a very solid camera in their lineup. Great for photos and video, fast autofocus nice metering so on so forth. If you are going cannon than its a nice camera to go with.
i want to ask if i use DX lens on the FX dslr , i turn on the DX mode in the d700 or d3 , will the DX mode in the d700 or d3 affedct their ISO Performance ?
@rahkshi007 Now I am not fully sure but I would think that yes your higher ISOs would not be as good because you are not using all of the pixels on the full frame sensor.
wouldn't landscape photographers prefer FX (full frame) over DX, considering they'd likely be using a wide/super-wide angle lens and the full frame camera have a larger field of view? This is part of the reason why I want to move to FX (being a landscape enthusiast), and this is what I understood. Pardon my ignorance, if im wrong. Thanks
Thanks for mentioning Canon. I didn't know they had a 1.3X crop factor on any cameras. The 7D perhaps? I don't think so......what Canon has a 1.3X crop factor? Thanks
Doesn't the Nikon have three modes as well now? As in the 1.2 DX crop they came out with in the Nikon D3s? I saw that in one of the product launch videos, and since u r using the cam, maybe u can confirm this for me... as always, lovin the videos and looking forward to more of such great work

DavidJWilliams49 11 months ago
@DavidJWilliams49 I don't beleve so.
Your 55-200 *should* be a 35mm equiv. of 82-300mm.
Your 18-55 is likely an equiv. of 27-82.
Of course, there are slight variations (28 equiv. is paper, 27-point-[gibberish] is technical).
Hope that's a slightly easy to understand explanation ;D

What about a 10.5mm f/2.8G DX Fisheye. Would it be 7mm or 16mm on a full frame?

So that means if I buy a 24-70mm f/2.8 for my D3000 it will essentially be a 36-105mm lens?

Canon crop factors are:
APS-C - X1.6
APS-H - X1.3
FF - 1.0
I think, i'm not a canon shooter.

@JaredPolin Yeah I know it is, but they said if u put a DX lens on the D3s, then the crop factor is 1.2... true or false?
zeyshaan 1 year ago
@zeyshaan false, its 1.5 cropped, ive never done it or would do it. You can also crop 4-5 ratio for 810.
JaredPolin 1 year ago
@zeyshaan cool, didn't like the idea of 1.2 anyways, give me a full frame or give me more zooming power as in a 1.5 crop :-)
