well no doubt the catch is good but when we look at the body of justin camp it seems more superve. the way he handle is body to going across the rope is awesome.
@superbarnsley no it didnt; i rmbr watchin this match live and after this catch, the opposing team [Pakistan of course] argued like hell that he touched the boundary! the 3rd umpire eventually declared that he didnt n the Pakis wanted to quit the match; soon after the prob was solved...i mean gimme a break tho! thats one helluva catch!!
who all think he touched the rope it is already proved he did not touch even i though he touched the rope but later i saw it many a time to decide it is an illution ,download this video and view at the slowest speed with vlc u will understand
oh shit i really didnt know that.... wow i thought cricket was the game where u hit the ball wit the sledgehammer lookin thingy threw the lil arches on the ground
OMG .. What a catch !! .. Kemp shouldn't have gone to the ICL..he would definitely be bought by an IPL team..Awesome background muzic to back this splendid catch of all time ! Inzy's expression says it all.
Great! Bakgat! Maybe, up there with a few of me own lol, yeah, forward to the moffie Inzaman hes not concentrating mind elsewhere? Have a second chance to exercise youre jowls thats eek and screech to him. A pom
Definitely up there as one of the best outfield catches ever. Great athleticism and perfect timing .. thanks for the post (from an aussie cricket fan)
This is really one of the Greatest Catches of all time, but with due respect to this catch of Justin Kemp, and all the great cathes held by Jonty, Gibbs, Ponting, Collingwood etc etc, in my opinion the best catch ever held was the one taken by Jacques Kallis (yes a South African again, no surprises here) to dismiss Shahid Afridi in the finals of the Coca Cola cup, 31/3/2000 at Sharjah. It was truely incredible, running backwards he twisted his entire body and caught that catch, just fantastic.
Hi, is that catch available on Youtube, i tried searching it, had found it, but the uploader deleted it............am trying to search that link, please do let me know if you find it, thanks.
I hate to be the ignorant American to ask this question. But since I've never really seen any cricket before: You play without any sort of gloves? And what would've happened if the ball had crossed that line?
Only the wicket keeper (person standing behind the batsman/batter) can ware gloves. If the ball crosses boundary without touching the ground it is called a sixer (batsman will be awarded 6 runs) else if it crosses the line along the ground then 4 runs are awarded to the batsman.
Thanks for the imformation. Kinda wished I could play, sounds better than f*ing baseball (no I don't like baseball in the least more of a rugby/american football person). But I've heard rumor that someone's trying to introduce the 20s (or something like that) version of cricket in the US.
best catch ever! One coming close to that is of Collingwood's catch to dismiss Hyden in 2005 natwest series..also remember Adam Bacher pulling off a stunner to get rid of Sachu at capetown 1997..next in line is Kallis' running backwards catch at Sharjah in 2004..as for ICL,Satish took a great one last season.
I have not seen a better catch than this in my last 20 plus years of watching cricket. The Jadeja catch, Martin Crowe's catch, Jonty's catch , Yuvraj's catch all pale in front of this one. The ball is going full speed and high Kemp has to run, strech and jump at the same time, then angle his right hand in such a way that it actually twists from audience to the field.
little common sense would prove this is a clean catch....U can watch in one of the angles the boundary boys clapping for the catch....he was in a better position to judge it......I will try to get the other angle though....It wont be a great quality though.....
what a catch.... one of the best match in ICL history... lot of up and down from the beginning, finally heroes done it... lahore badsha's should learn what is sportsmanship.... espeacially azhar mahmood... simply fighting for silly things...

The Music is O Fortuna from the oratorio Carmina Burana written by Carl Orff.
This is not, however, the same piece of music used for the UEFA Champions League. That piece is a re-working of Handel's Zadok the Priest.

If Kemp had even touched the rope with any part of his body as he fell, four runs would've been awarded. He came bloody close!

I am a lahore supporter, but this is the best catch ever. What makes this catch so great:
1) Reverse right hand
2) Right on the boundary
3) The imporatnce of the catch as it turned the game around!
4) Great control of staying within the boundary
5) 6'5" Justin Kemp stretching full in midd air.
Come on Lahore tonight!! But well done Justin!
