  • Awesome video.

  • I agree that you NEED to be doing this stuff in HD - 720 MINIMUM. 240p is... pants. Great show by the way :-) thanks.

  • How are any of the parts usable after this guy turns them into junk?

  • Lol at the paper in side the microwave still I wonder of my old 84 Microwave has that stuff in it still.

  • great videos but you should get a better camera

  • Amazing video, very interesting to watch. keep making videos. Maby next time take apart the magnetron and play around with the magnets:]

  • This is amazing. It's hilarious when you just drop everything. Like the glass tray, even the camera man is laughing :D

  • i always liked to tinker with stuff to i understand this guy

  • Clearly not a poster child for careful disassembly. Need to put that HAMMER away.

  • the world needs more people like you. If we don't start asking 'how' anymore, we'll be in trouble.

  • Watch out for the capacitors in microwaves, they can store very high voltages.

  • Even if the ting is unpluged and been off?

  • Can you take apart a tv next and describe what not to touch!

    Was this on cable access?

  • yes

  • I would say that you need to get a better camera, or more so a microphone. It is distorted and when I turn it up to hear you, the banging of the hammer and other objects make for very unpleasent blasts. that is all that I would say. I enjoy taking things apart by myself but I like your idea for the show, and I would definetly watch it, like "is it a good idea to microwave this?" I like that too!

  • take out and show us the magnetron, cooling, fan, main trainsformer, and capacitor

  • the display(aka the VFD) is actually a little florescent tube that sort of works in reverse, the phosphor is in the shape of letters and numbers that glow when a charge is placed near them, hm, actually, it works more like a plasma tv in reverse but check the wikipedia entry for "Vacuum fluorescent display" to learn all about them

  • modern microwaves generally use lcds to cut on production costs(its alot cheaper to slather some liquid crystals between some glass and "wires" and glue them together than to make a vacuum tight glass enclosure)

and btw, you didnt even take apart the magnetron which has 2 insanely powerful ring magnets! or what about the..uh...hm, the magnetron is the only real cool part, i never took apart the hinges of a microwave thoguh
