You're right. Perhaps a better way of saying is that it's fundamentalism of any kind that CAN lead to terrorism, whether it's Matthew Shepard or 9/11.
Love thy nieghbor as thy self, vs. Behead thy nieghbor like as a pig. No where do we see Christains cutting peoples heads off and holding them up and saying "Praise Jesus!" You know that. Im a Christian and do not want anyone killed, however I belive we must at time, prevent killers. We can start with the KKK right after Isalm. ok?
The writer of the movie is an unabashed conservative named Cyrus Nowrasteh. Last year, Nowrasteh spoke on a panel titled, "Rebels With a Cause: How Conservatives Can Lead Hollywood's Next Paradigm Shift.
The Republican Director David L. Cunningham. Path to 911 was a project of the Christian Evangelican YWAM (Yout with a Mission) auxiliary called The Film Institute (TFI).
The filmmakers: the Writer, the Producer, the Director were >ALL< Republicans. No Democrats. The preview DVDs were sent ONLY to Republicans. No Democrats.
Now, I KNOW that last line is false, because they had to make changes after the Democrats saw the preview DVDs, and rightly so.
And so what if they were Republicans? They still made Dick Clarke out for sainthood and Condi Rice out for Umbridgehood. They still reported the events basically as they were. (Including your alleged "Big Lie", I've found - I'll get to that in a bit.)
The only differences between the "Big Lie" and actual events: they never physically surrounded the compound (they were merely ready to commence) and it was Tenet who killed the operation instead of Berger. Was there hand-wringing about if-bin-Laden-should-be-killed? About the Northern Alliance's trustworthiness? About lack of knowledge? Yes, yes and yes.
I meant only the KKK actually killed people. I guess I wasn't familiar with this "Order", and as a Potterite, I am extremely pissed-off at its name choice.
Nonetheless, do either have the organization and pervasiveness of jihadis? Judging by the count of attacks, a severe no.
Well, well, well, if the Christians are just as bad as the Isalmic Terrorist, then maybe we Christian should go on the hunt for some liberal heads? How slimy can you get compareing Mother Tersa to Osama Bin Laden. You liberal haters are losing touch with reality.
usamahunter sounds EXACTLY like Usama. There is so little difference between the rhetoric of Usama and the rhetoric of rightwing USA that it's really quite stunning. Everyone a bloody nazi!
I fear religion in general, but I dont panic about it. Fundi's all come from peaceful religions, the root of the problem is religion itself. Anyway seperation of church and state protects us from fundi's in America, and it protects your religion from becoming Bureaucracy.
So you fear what people believe about an afterlife. That's paranoia and misplaced worry.
And who's religion? Talk about assuming! I'm an agnostic who finds religion to be hookey.
By the way - the part that says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" does not equal "separation of church and state". It simply means that Congress can't establish a religion. You know,..that Congress that opens up sessions with prayers?
Your understanding of separation of church and state is wrong. The separation of church and state is a political doctrine which states that the institutions of the state or national government should be kept separate from those of religious institutions.
It's wrong how again? Where is this "political doctrine" written and what law or laws enforce it? I explicitly explained where most people go wrong in believing that it is actually the law of the land, but got no such explanation from you.
Listen, I agree with the concept. I just don't think that you have made an argument. All I got was weak and vague assertions. (Granted, YouTube doesn't exactly allow for detailed arguments the way this is set up.)
You raise a valid point, Seperation of church and state alarmingly isnt written in the consitution. Its just a commonly held view. But I guess considering that this country was started by puritan witch burners, that shouldnt suprise me. But I do fear America will become a theocracy one day, it seems close already.
I don't see it. We're so far removed from any kind of theocracy. Are you compelled to go to church? Do you have to pay taxes that go to the church (a la European style)? Are you forced to be a Christian? Anywhere close to being forced? The answer is 'no' for all of the above.
Get real,..this nation is awash in all kind of sin and gluttony and you are free to partake in it. Go ahead, kick back, and loosen up. You just might see that I am right.
Christans want creation science taught in the classroom, they belief that Americ is a christan nation, that christanity has a special place in goverment that other religions are not allowed. Thier motivation is a theocracy, and where thiers a will theirs a way, give it time.
So they want creation taught in the classroom. So? What's the problem?
They believe that America is a Christian nation. And that problem with that is what exactly? You admit that Christians are the majority, do you not?
"Other religions are not allowed" - I don't know what you're talking about there.
Prove that their motivations is a theocracy. It's your statement, so the burden of proof is on you. I, for one, think you're off in the deep end on this one.
I dotn care if your an Atheist, you think religion in the classroom isnt a problem? Its one thing for many Americans to be Christan but many think christan nation in terms of the goverment being aligned with the Bible somehow.
I'm an agnostic, not an atheist. I don't belong in your camp. I have no idea what happens after we die, about an otherworld, etc. I don't make a claim of knowing like both you and Christians do. I am seperate from you guys.
Now when you go on about "OMG (God? That's funny coming from an atheist!) your proof" when talking of a motivation for a theocracy, it is more than prudent to let you know, once again, that the claim doesn't make sense since I am an agnostic.
You always have this hard of a time following conversations? Good grief man.
Why do I fear religions in general? Because of what they become, at soem point in their existance they try to take over a country and control its people. Even in America relgious grops are strivign for political control.
So let me get this straight. You are saying that you don't think that the majority should be represented and you would rather have a government ruled by minority opinion.
Do you see a problem with the above two beliefs of yours? Need I remind you that we live in a representative republic, "of the people, by the people, for the people."?
Stop puttign words in my mouth. Define "represent" in this case. What lentgh does the goverment have to go to? To adeqetly represent creationist? They have freedom of religion, they can practice and teach eachother to hate people for being diffrent, why do they need to ring that to the classroom? And you may wana drop the "so what your saying is..." agrument style, just come up with a reply, stop trying to straw man.
I'm not putting any words into your mouth. I am reading what you write and then clarifying it. You just won't admit that you're advocating tyranny.
"Represent" means what it means. It doesn't mean that the majority doesn't get represented simply because they are the majority.
As for questions of what length the government should go, that's left to the ballots, the courts, and the limits of the law. This is simple stuff here.
All Im saying is Religion has no place in goverment, and I dont like how religions always strive to put their religion in power as the law. Your not clarifying what Im saying your twisting it around. Define what you mean by "represent"
As for teaching each other to hate - sounds like what you are doing. I don't see how teaching creationism is "hate" though, so you're a bit off on that criticism.
As for accusations of setting up straw man arguments - I'm reading what YOU are writing. No straw man needed. Your positions are quite clear.
You take what I say and then say "so what your saying is BLA BLA BLA" then you knock down that BS argument you fabricated. Creationism does teach hate eventualy, btw isam is creationism, If you say it dosnt teach hate thats your opinion ask phelps.
YOU ARE A MORON. Creationism dosnt teach hate my ass. If it teaches one person hate it teaches hate, what does phelps have to do with this? HE IS SOMBODY WHO WAS TAUGHT HATE BY CREATIONISM!!! he spreads it. OMFG just STFU, you just keep sayign the stupidest shit.
Doesn't take long for those with weak arguments to begin the namecalling. I'm surprised it took this long.
No, creationism doesn't teach hate (your ass). As for bringing up someone who was taught creationism who is a hater, well,..that's funny. The guy was also probably taught math as well. I guess that means that math teaches hate?
Forget responding as you're now blocked and I won't be conversing with such a hateful and projecting little person. Have a good day.
He didnt seem hateful to me, you never said "why" Creationism does not teach hate, can you explain how it doesnt? Because many fanatics do learn hate from their respective religions, so it woudl apear Akrid was correct. I think you took it as "Creationism only teaches hatred" that would be wrong.
You're a hypocritical moron. I was the only one with a argument, and I called you names because thats what you are. Creationism does indeed teach hate, you stupid fuck. And I'll respond how I see fit.
I can't help but to go back to "teach eachother to hate people for being diffrent" comment and come to the conclusion that you're no different. You hate Christians, those people who "dont need to be represented", and have this fear of them implementing some kind of theocracy. I find all of that funny in a perverse kind of way when I consider just how far away we have moved from a Christian society.
I guess that in the end, all I can tell you is that this isn't the 1950's dude. Relax.
Its not the 1950's in Iran either but look at their fucked up society, Argue this "history repeats itself" Do you think we are infallible? We have already lasted longer than any other democracy ever has, so where treading new territory, who knows what will happen. You go ahead and relax just like the Jews did in Germany as Hitler came to power. Never question authority, you just go the flow.
I've merely been pointing out why I think your claims are a bit overblown. I said nothing of not questioning "authority" (which funny, since the Christian "authority" you are worried about doesn't exist).
I hate christans? My whole family is Christan, I dont hate them. Also I said nothing about Christans, I said creationist, so that goes for all religions that belive the world was created by intellegent design, why did you single out that I must hate christanity?
Why would you tell me to relax? Am I upset because I stated that in some cases relgions can teach hatred? Its just the way it is. I think this is why Akrid blew up at you, you really dont debate well.
Well, I noticed you made several statements, such as "You hate Christians" or "I just clarified your thoughts". Akrid never said he hated christens. And its never a good idea to repeat what somebody said but twist it around. I used exact quotes of what you said. I could of clarified your statements "You hate christens and want them all to die, your probably a evil person and a rapist" But you didn't say all that, and it would be wrong of me to misquote you.
Akrid stated that creationism (that's any religion that believes that a supernatural entity created us/world/existence w/e)bred hatred and in its leads to killing. The Aztecs sacrificed thousands of people in a single day to their god, in the crusades as Akrid mentioned christens killed innocent people who didn't accept their religion, there is many more examples.
OMG! You have got to be kidding me. This looks like something out of SCARY MOVIE 5! Or a Republican's wet dream. I surrrrrrre they will show the exact same scenario with Bush right? ;)
As though showing that the Islamists want to kill Bush would make Bush look bad? For that matter, does the Islamists wanting to kill Clinton make Clinton look bad? I think not. If they want to kill you, you must be doing SOMETHING right.
Thank you for posting these videos prior to the airing of Path to 911 in the US. This libelous and monsterously inaccurate protrayal of these events is a travesty to us all.
You are an imbecilic moron.
