  • Also Taken From KCET Airings Of Bill Nye The Science Guy

  • @essencejet "The financial support of Viewers Like You" was PBS's way of mentioning contributions from the viewers from 1989 to 1999.

  • I'm guessing this is from the VHS of Reading Rainbow: Sunken Treasure

  • This was during Season 9 of Reading Rainbow.

  • I remember seeing these...I actually found out later while searching the internet that the girl who read the sponsor credits is actually the daughter of one of the producers of Reading Rainbow. Just a bit of trivia I thought I'd throw out there.

  • corporation for public brodcasting (CPB) IS from 1992.

  • Watching this with the transcribe audio function is hilarious:

"Our own wrong the move the past summer of ninety three I think I needed clarification is near. The motion our final foundation. The country issue for public broadcasting. The financial support from use anything. I intend to for. I mean I really think this thing through think they."

  • Cereal and reading? *shudders*

  • What they mean Viewers Like You, is like we're the Viewers.

  • Is this like from a videotape?

  • I always wondered if Viewers Like You was a company or if they were talking about me. I was 7, but I knew I wasn't making financial contributions.

  • I think they meant more like from the viewers that were watching the program who funded the station for the Viewers Like You thing. Also, I do know such programs like 'Sesame Street' and 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood' had their own personal thing with the fundings (making up their own funding credits).

  • If this was the closing, would we see the logo with the three P-Pals or have they not been introduced quite yet? I know that they were in 1993 but I wonder about '92

  • This girl had an a-dor-a-ble little voice

  • This is a great CPB logo! In a midnight background, little pink lines move towards the left, and then after the CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING text appears on the bottom, then two big circles join together with fancy writing of CPB on it. When the text disappears, the circles split apart which reveals the Public Television Viewers text on the top with more pink lines moving rapidly upward northwest.

  • WOW! I thought I was the only one to notice that! It's so weird, and they used it on almost every show, exactly the same way minus the text setup. Good eye, Kiki.

  • Thanks.

  • I meant to say "GRANT". I was in a rush to see a movie.

  • it's funding for barney and the backyard gang is made possible by the Ford FOundation, The Carnigie Corporation of New York, The Corporation FOr Public Broadcasting, This Sation and other Public Television Stations, the National Science FOundation, The Public Television Viewers, and by the finnancial support of Viewers Like You.

  • These are the closings.

Previous girl who did the openings: Funding for "Reading Rainbow is made possible by a grant from Kellogg's, who urges you to explorer the joys of reading. Funding for the series was also provided by

    The Corporation For Public Broadcasting.

The Carnegie Corporation Of New York,

The National Science Foundation, and the fiancial support of

    Viewers Like You.

    (Ding dong)

    Man: This is PBS.

  • Wned Deployment Corporation

  • Why, thank you, Stormchaser. It has been like 14 years since I saw this. When I saw them the first time, I was scared to HELL when the CPB logo was coming. I cried. But in 1995 until 1996, I started liking them. When I heard the girl saying the fundings, I kept on remembering them when I turned 5 in 1997.

  • First, little pink lines start moving towards the left like little fish swimming in the sea, and then after

"The Corporation For Public Broadcasting" text appears on the bottom, then 2 circles start to join together with fancy writing of CPB on it. When the text disappears, the 2 circles split apart which reveals the

"Viewers Like You" text on the top with more pink lines moving rapidly upward Northwest.

  • i like how she say's viewers like you she say's it like this viewers like you

  • Girl: "Reading Rainbow" is made possible by a grant from

The Carnegie Corporation Of New York,

    The National Science Foundation,

The Corporation For Public Broadcasting, the financial support of Viewers Like You. And by a grany from Kellogg's, who reminds to take time each day for reading.

  • You're so smart pbscraze, you tell me who did this announcement!

  • Hey, at 0:15, they changed backgrounds. It went from dark green and purple to dark blue and purple as they said " the corporation for public broadcasting"

  • no pbs logo

  • That's because these are the opening credits.

  • OH!

  • I remember these... WNED was my local PBS station (in Buffalo), and as a 4-year-old I thought this was station identification.

  • Can you do the closing funding of this show, too?

  • He has the closing funding credits from 1992.

  • Barney And Friends season 1 did this logo, too! Can you upload some full episodes of them?

  • Was this tacked on to reruns of earlier episodes? Because this is the earliest one I remember seeing.

  • ^Actually, to correct myself, it was the 1990 one that was the earliest I remember seeing. I accidentally posted the comment here.

  • ^To correct myself, the '90 funding credits are the earliest ones I remember seeing. I accidentally posted the comment here.

  • ^This was referring to the 1990 credits. I posted this here by accident for some reason.

  • Yes, this was shown from 1991-1993 before the intro!

  • @sailorclose GPN-WNED intro from 1987-1999.

  • @NikitaFilatovFan3040 Wrong! The WNED/GPN intro is from 1989-1994!

  • This was shown before the intro, right?

  • I have a question: what type of background is that?

I think it's like a sandy background. And what are the pink lines that travel when the circles join, show the logo, and pull away from each other? Thanx.

  • Its a dark blue and purple background; a sandy background and I think that those pink lines are used to introduce the Corporation For Public Broadcastion Logo.

I'm in the mood to help you; dude. You ain't never had a friend like me!

  • Actually, dude I just figured this out: I think it's an ocean-themed background [with sand] and the pink lines are fish swimming in the water and the circles that join and pull away show that it's underwater.

    That's what I think.

  • I have a suggestion buddy. How about you send a message to sailorclose asking about this video; OK?

  • Thank You SOOO MUCH!!!!
