Im not bashing you, but don't watch anime, lol. Read the Manga first, or you'll get bored as fuck from anime trying to extend chapters and put in fillers to delay the story line from progressing. After you read it, you'll know what to skip when watching an Anime. FLCL was the only Anime that didn't have those problems since it was so short.
Technically, FLCL was an animated show first, with a manga that came later.
And really, your advice smacks of elitism. There's plenty of shows that stand well on their own without reading the manga. Cowboy Bebop, Paranoia Agent, and Trigun all come to mind.

i have seen an article before where the band members revealed some of the lyrics and said thats what they wrote the song about. though they actually kept the 2rd line unknown but i think what "atbestvague" typed is right
