  • The loader tune is Ocean Loader 3 by Peter Clarke, don't know what it's doing in an Imagine game.

  • 6,27 to load a game. Good old times :)

  • about time for some new reveiws paul how about playstation 1 games ??

  • there is something really cool and eerie about the C64 music....

Maybe its cos i had one... and it was so magical but i think its still weirdly nice..

  • its, really good, sounds like something out of "a clockwork orange"

  • @strunway Maybe thats cos u've been hearing the same sounds in chart music for the last few years. Timbaland brought the sound back to the mainstream by robbing loads of old themes and palming em off as his own. Other people have been recreating the sounds since that.

  • @PermT yeah, i just like it tho. i dont really do 'pop' music.

    im so so sorry.

  • @strunway Hey, who does 'do' pop music. Unfortunately we all have it shoved down our throats willingly or unwillingly. Just a fact of life.

  • @PermT I dont, I dont listen to MTV, VH1, or any music shows. I dont watch TV at all any more.

Maybe its just something hypnotic and unusual that I like. May just the memories. Who knows, I have a fair idea, but who knows.

Im so sorry please. yes? that ok.?

  • Every time I see the striped border it brings back memories, memories of great games but waiting forever for them to load and dreading he inevitable load errors you get with tapes.

  • cool

  • great tune, good c64 memories

  • Friggin awesome Ocean loader.

  • I just love that tune!

    So damn epic!

Btw I´ve heard that tune also in games like

    Firefly and other ocean games.

Speaking of ocean : one of their best tunes in my opinion is the introtheme to parallax. Do you know that theme?

  • hottt i am wanking as I type

  • lol

  • Did c64's not make any noise when loading like speccys did? i dunno i never had one lol

  • No, all tape audio was mute. However you could slightly modify either the datasette itself inside, or the port where it plugged into the computer, and connect a tiny speaker. People done this because it was annoying trying to find the next game on a multiple game tape!

  • @Markyboy28 yes it did

  • This sounded different on the 2 different SID chips!

  • The Best Music Of All The C64 Loaders!!

  • its incredible, but as amazing as it maybe, i actually prefer the ocean loader i forget which one it was - but the one that was in both chase hq, and rainbow islands - if you dont know which one i mean look in my videos for chase hq but this one is awesome in its own right of course!!!

  • @paulisthebest3uk That was Ocean Loader 5

  • @paulisthebest3uk Yeah C64 Operation Wolf also had that amazing Ocean loader song.

  • The only system that Renegade 3 was better than Target on.

At least on 3 on the C64 you have decent hit detection.

On 2 on the C64 hit detection is really poor.

  • I think that saying that is too much. R3 was a crap on the c64, one of the poorest releases of that year... And R2 it's far better besides it's collision detection.

  • good old memories.

  • Man, I love loaders. Why don't games these days have anything interesting on their loading screens? I mean, I know C64 games could take up to 10 minutes to load so needed something to watch or listen to during that, but even so seeing "NOW LOADING" and nothing else on todays games is so dull.
