The original Goth fashion finds its roots in Punk and Glamrock. Simple as that.

I personally dress in black and so on because 1) it looks really good on me, 2) ladies love it, and 3) to make vanillas squirm. Because I do so love making people squirm. But, that's not a typical Goth attitude.
