  • UPDATE: New Tournament Video Posted as a Video Response!!!

  • For a white belt you were good! (I bet now you're way farther) As a cho dan bo (to clear that up: a cho dan bo is a blue belt readying to be a black belt. a cho dan is a most certainly a black belt (1st degree)) I can tell you that the first tournament is always the worst - soon you get to know people and its all great! Confidence is super important though. Like, at a test even if you're doing the wrong thing if you're doing it skillfully and with confidence, its okay.

    Tang Soo!

  • @tarstar128 Thanks! I was super nervous as you can probably tell, especially on the sparring. But the experience was great and one I will never forget. Thanks again for such a nice comment, a lot of people go out of their way to be negative and critical, but I never claimed to be Bruce Lee, just an average person doing my best at martial arts. Tang Soo! Noah

  • im a white belt but i hope to get a chance to have grandmaster sign my do bock

  • @MisterHowToComputer 1st degree black belt actually isn't really black belt, it's Midnight Bue, so if that's what your getting it then yes you are correct :) But Cho Dan and Ee Dan are basically first and second degree. But you probably knew that :P

  • @MisterHowToComputer you mean Cho Dan :) some could be Ee Dan also

  • grandmaster shin was my grandmaster. i got to meet him at black belt camp years and years ago and he's a really cool dude

  • Hi there

I think those white belt fighters did a good job. It is never easy to get tested in front of 5-6 masters ...

  • @bisoubisoumoi Thank you for your nice comment! I was the second to do my form on the video, and I was so nervous, I could barely speak the name of the form I was going to perform! It was really fun though, I have so much respect for the higher ranked students that can perform forms so flawlessly. Thanks for the comment! Noah

  • Try to relax a little more in the movements, and keep your knees bent and stances low. Other than that, very good for white belts!

  • @Jammerjoint Thank you! I have to relax more, my movements were so jerky because of my nervousness. Thanks again for the comment! Noah

  • I know all five Kicho Hyungs and these were not them. Master Shin must have developed some different forms for his beginners.

  • @Brandonshanelow Your right, Grandmaster Shin modified some of the first Hyungs, by substituting kicks for some of the punches. Thanks for the comment! Noah

  • @Brandonshanelow Way to call him out Noah.

I know all 42 Buddhist palm techniques and these dont even cover 2

  • thers this huge ass hole at my tang soo do class who takes freefighting way too seriously and fractured a white belts ribs :/

  • @nesquikrabb1t challenge him and do the same to him..are have him expelled from the school.

  • yea it's amazing...tang soo do kiks asss...

  • Do you guys recommend Tang soo do? I am currently taking taekwondo and I do not like the sport aspect. I was thinking about switching to Karate such as Goju or Shorin. Tang soo do caught my eyes and i know it's roots are from shotokan,

  • If your going to go with any kind of Tang Soo Do Make sure it's Moo Duk Kwan. If not just go with a Japanese style Martial Art.

  • good

  • not if you got the right person doing them for example people who are commited and people who are talented tend to have the better forms and dont make them look sloppy

  • i remeber being in tang soo do. so much fun.... i feel like a dumb ass for quiting

  • @lolcowsruleweeeee I know how you feel, I have been out of Tang Soo Do for a while now, I want to get back into it so bad, but life is so busy it seems. Thanks for the comment, I wish you luck and hope you can get back into it! Noah

  • the judge on the left isnt even watching during the forms lol

  • Considering the Hyung Competition..

Is that a basic form that is being demonstrated at 2:35?

    Kee Cho Hyung IL Bo?

  • where was that held at

  • bad e bu also he doesnt point then punch and is not low enough

  • thats a bad il bu he doesnt go low he doesnt turn his hips he doesnt put his arm over the other and he doesnt turn his hips to get that snap when he kicks.

  • tang soo do su mejor instructor es gran master

sañudo montes de culiacan sinaloa mexico

  • gran master sañudo montes, was at a seminar i attended a few months ago...

He was a guest of Grand Master Lee..

Who is the most senior Tang Soo Do practisioner world wide

  • But the first kata is the taykyou shodan of shotokan whit 3 maegeri instead of a oitzuki...

  • Besides the patterns/kata/poomse what is the difference between tkd and tsd? (im not trying to be rude or anything, I do tkd, and I was wondering what the difference was, like since they are both korean sports.)

  • One's a sport, the other is an art.

  • Oh, ok, I see.

  • yea Korea only sees tkd as a sport, its more for competing then to learn about the art side of martial arts, tsd focus is more towards the art aspect of martial arts, we focus more on the traditional forms, free sparing and tournament sparing, and we defenetaly focus a lot of time on the science of technique and how to do it the right way

  • were you thinking wtf tkd or itf tdk, because i think there is quite a difference betwen them (correct me if I'm wrong)

  • idk witch one, i just know that tkd is more of a sport, for competition

  • TSD is what TKD was called before it was Called TKD, TKD was created for The Military

  • yea thats right, idk about tkd being for the military but then again idk a lot about tkd, but there were like 7 styles that used to be tsd, but they all folded under the pressure from the korean government

  • Yep, but this organization has grown too much with the name TSD for it to be discarded.

  • 5 stars!

  • im in region 1 as well... im almost a blue belt... im quite good... uhhh

  • I have such fond memories of practicing TSD. I had the privilege of meeting Grandmaster Shin when he visited the dojo in Silver Bay, MN. My father, who was an artist, drew a framed portrait of him from a photo in the 1987 TSD handbook and presented it to him as a gift. It was a magical moment. I hope I can begin practicing it once again.

  • what is this like?

  • okay when was this because i dont remember a master shin.

  • i remember when i was a white belt and my stances sucked horribly. now i look back and laugh at how easy sae kye hyung e and il bu are.

  • i am sorry but if you think any form is easy then you are sadly mistaken. i have been doing tang soo do for 14 years and there is so much more to the beginning forms then you can possibly think of, it is nearly impossible to get any form perfect, but none the less that is the goal

  • ok that looks like it's in michigan (where i live)

  • It's in Florence, Alabama at the University of North Alabama.

  • you guys are stupid, that is the way it was when it was brought for the americans, the traditional way is white purple green red black master

back in south korea they dont even have rank, it was something that was made for the americans cuz we felt like we needed it

  • well we have it so we know different traditions etc.

  • I lived in korea and trained in tkd before goin on to tsd and there were belts and when my father did it they had belts too and that was like 40 years ago for him (he was born in korea and lived there, i just lived there for a 2 years

  • Belt order

    WHITE-winter; emptiness, hidden potential, purity

ORANGE-created later on to give people are reason to keep training, it originally was white, green, red, midnight blue

    GREEN-Spring; Growth, spreading, advancement

    RED- Summer; Ripening, Yang, Active

MIDNIGHT BLUE-utumn; Maturity, Um, passive, harvest

one last note, never criticize especially if you're not capable of what it is you're criticizing, and please people learn humility, dont brag of your tropies

    TANG SOO

  • stfu man

  • Dude, you forgot brown - power, stability, agility, weight and wisdom. :)

  • wow i dont know what school you go to fiercedeitylinkx but where i go its white, purple, green, red, black, then master, and i am a master, so i think i would know

but fiercedeitylinkx has one thing right, tang soo do is fun, it is a total blast, everybody should try it, if you are in california you should go to the best studio around, in san marcos, off of the twin oaks off tamp

  • lol if ur a master then you would know that different associations have different colors and order the only thing that is universal is white belt and black belt

  • i do know that, and just to let you know its also mid night blue not black

  • i take Tang Soo Do and i am a white belt but i already know a few things like

belt order: white orange green brown red blue black.

    it is very fun

  • the lack knowledge but not commitment. They are low ranking fighters. must of them are white belts and this is probably for alot of them their fisrt tourney. over time the will get better and compete in more agressive matches.

  • I also do tang soo do and i have to say these people lacks knowledge and commitment

  • @rotary6 Were you ever a white belt? Thanks for the input though, however worthless it is...

  • the fist tournament i went to i got 2 3rd places. after that, i got alot of bronze metals. WEIRD. i have a gold metal and a 2nd place trophies.

  • Yay! This is actually my region of Tang Soo Do. I believe this was the last tournament I attended.

  • 2nd degree black belt right here

    master beaudoin!!!

  • I've met him at a couple tournaments . Great man. recieved a personal invite to a tournament but had other plans on that day.I did get a photo with him though.

    Tang Soo!

  • man these ppl cant even fight..<if they ever get to fight my TKD team we would totaly kill them

  • TKD doesn't require any skill....in fact, i'll perfer saying, TKD people is more like an american got drunk...and fight over some bitches with another american.....like an old saying....sizes matter....right? in tang soo do, doesn't matter what size u r, as long as u have to speed and technique, it'll kick all y'all asses....

  • Dude i agree with the " size matters" saying ...... im only 5'2" and am a black belt in tang soo do

  • What's your matter. Do you actually believe that TKD doesn't require ANY skills at all? Shut up fuckface. You actually shouldn't be talking about something you don't know shit about.

  • Dude! it takes you guys an entire team to beat an orange belt and white belt? Whats up with that. Cant undestand why you'd make a comment like that for a Beginners Division. Unless these beginners look like you Advanced division... that might have thrown me for a loop if thats what I though!

  • Were you ever a beginner? Then maybey you remember how difficult it is to train the muscle memory needed for precise technique. Not many people can walk on to the floor for the first time and be a perfect martial artist. Please keep this in mind next time you comment on a white-belt's form. Beginners need encouragement, and constructive criticism, not someone telling them that they should just quit or that they are "SUCK ass ppl (people)" Thanks/

  • Very well put! I will be the first to admit that this is not a video showing my off my incredible martial arts skills, but merely me sharing my first tournament experience for others to view. Its funny how some people have to put others down in order to prove themselves. Thank you so much for a thoughtful and well written comment sashimibites! noahsan

  • @1kojiro1 I checked out your videos of you doing martial arts and I can honestly say that you are way better than me, I'm not even in the same realm of skill as you. Oh, thats right, you have no videos, awesome.

  • @1kojiro1 Yeaaaaah, thanks Sensei.....
