thanks for the upload guys...i lived in the house directly behind hokaido in cedar crest. we were in the house when the tornado hit also. Actually at 4:47 i am the guy with the red shorts and white shirt standing next to my dad and my other two roommates. we were still in shock over being alive. i was yelling about my bed and how theres a fire place on top of it you can hear the audio in the video. glad you guys were all ok.. this video brings chills to my bones expecially after seeing myself.
wow, this is insane... I live about 35 minutes from Tuscloosa, another tornado came pretty close to my house (the North Bibb tornado) that day is still burned into my mind. I still know Tuscaloosa like the back of my hand, we go there all the time, it's so heartbreaking to see 15th street where we was at just a week before, just gone. Glad yall were alright, amazing footage, I've not seen a video that shows before, during and after like that... I'd drop my camera for sure, lol... good job! :)
It was a borderline EF5 w/ winds of 190mph. Meteorologist here...You guys were so lucky to be alive...Praying for your recovery in T-Town..My buddy is the chief meteorologist at WVUA in Tuscaloosa...So you guys are in my prayers...That is some of the craziest videos I've seen of this tornado..
Instead of filming, why not help look for people. I hear u say u need to start looking for people but never do. What if it was your family trapped under the rubble, wouldn't u want someone to help them.. Just saying
@johncrocker30516 Well if you pay attention to the video and notice how I told the elapsed time after it struck you will see that the video is broken up in segments. During this time we were pulling people out from the rubble and continued to help as much as possible till night fall. Thanks for taking the time to view my video!
This year has been insane w/ the number of different types of disasters we've had. "That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds, snakes and airplanes, but Lenny Bruce is not afraid...."
I'm glad you guys were smart enough to realize the danger that was around you. So many videos like this people don't take it seriously. Hopefully things are getting back to normal as this was an intense tornado season for a lot of people.
I'm glad you all were okay. My family lives in Coaling and I was in Kentucky watching this monster online when it hit, screaming on the phone for my dad and sister to get to shelter. Luckily, Coaling didn't get hit, but man, God be with T-town right now!!
Glad to hear everyone in your house is ok some of my best friends lived in the Cedarcrest neighborhood on the side closest to the Shell Station and the Milos I went with them to collect what was left of their personal belongings a few days after the storm and just couldn't believe what I saw I pray for all the storm victims in T-Town and I hope the city makes a full recovery god bless you all!
I'm amazed at how they go from terror, amazement and shock, to right away, checking on people and making a game-plan. Very selfless, very noble and courageous men right there. Minnesota is praying for you guys.
So glad no one was harmed, how fukin awesome that you guys started checking on others !!! We were in our basement on 17th st E one door blew off then a tree fell inside ...I have no words to describe the damage in Tuscaloosa :(
Really amazing video guys. Thank you. Must have been horrific. :( A very small moment of comedic relief, "I dunno what this guy's doin'. Runnin around barefoot."
I was on hargrover rd east when the tornado hit,,,we were lucky that it did hot hit us directly. But we could hear the roar of it and was scary. Im so glad you guys made it out alive.. I do think though that If i was right at the point of having my life snatched away..I could have found a better word to use than " holy ****"
@cherokeedoll1 yea i live near that area and my mom and i was getting in the closet but i forgot my blanket so i ran upstairs to get it and saw it right outside my window. My heart like skipped a beat twice as i ran downstairs to tell my mother and we went out the back to see it. She didn't believe it was it at first until i pointed out the debrie flying around and then she screamed for me to come in. That was the most scariest site I saw, like I was looking at death himself.
@bubba198706 and as good as this video is.. it means absolutely nothing until you see it in person. It's about 1000 worse. I was few of the lucky ones not hit and I'm praying for everyone affected by this disaster.
@MidnightS14 Obviously neither one of you is from or familiar with Tuscaloosa and to that matter Alabama. I don't think you understand the major impact it has had on us. Until you live through it you will never understand. They are lucky to be alive, because others near them weren't so lucky. so I ask you to please stop being so ignorant and rude to people who have lost so much. Praying for all those hurting so much and for those who do not understand.
@RTGL3232 I have lived in Alabama all my life, been to Ttown many times. I watched the same tornado that wiped out Phil Campbell and Hackleburg hit my hometown. Got many friends that lost everything in this storm. Their house is not destroyed, damaged maybe, but probably even still livable.
@MidnightS14 you are ridiculous. You have no clue how bad this really is until you see it in person Although there are tons of pictures and videos, unless you were here when it happened you cannot possibly understand. Hundreds of people lost their lives. Yeah they're house is still there but probably not livable since the side is ripped to shreds. and even if it is livable that is not what's important.. what's important is that they're still alive.
@kdubose2 I followed the tornado that hit Phil Campbell, and have seen the Hueytown aftermath in person, I know the damage. From the extent of the damage to their "destroyed" cars in the driveway, doubt the house is destroyed either. They did get lucky
@MidnightS14 to the both of you... the House is destroyed.. it was bull dozed yesterday! Yes the house was still standing thank god... other wise they would not be alive! Unlike most of their neighborhood they lived!! Until you go through what they did don't talk shit... you know nothing!! And @sdfksdfkfh overreacting.. go to hell bc thats where you belong! They all can thank god because they are alive and have! I have thanked god for sparing my brothers life who was in this house!
@jessibaby344 Dont waste your energy or time trying to explain to a bunch of idiots how someone should react when they and others lives are endangered. Apparently these dummies dont understand the wonderful human body and how adrenaline (figh or flight system works). We went through the same thing we were in Forest Lake so I know exactly how these guys felt. .
This is seriously why I love the Internet. I just got painfully reminded that this is actual people being involved in an actual disaster. Thanks for sharing this and good luck. My thoughts are with you guys.
Will, it's Paul Bull, thanking God and praying for you guys and everyone affected by the storms everyday. God kept you guys safe, hit me up if you need anything at all.

I was in my house on Beverly Heights. This is exactly what we did. Watched the tv's weather report until we heard it and saw it out the window. We then ran for the bathroom and waited. Everything got destroyed. Scariest moment of my life.
Wow. OK that was the most intense video I have seen about this. Our hearts are with you people.... There's no words to describe this, thanks for sharing, I hope it helps dealing with that disaster. Good luck to all of you!
