No, there were no rust problems. We made the bike frames out of aluminium, the handle bars were a composite, all the hardware was marine grade stainless and the transmission box was milled from a solild block of aluminium and sealed to keep the grease in and water out. We ride as much in salt water as we do in fresh.
@bigmanherrick@bigmanherrick Thank You for Your answer. That would be more in line with products from Hobie. Maybe You could make them interested in a licensed production?
As for the prices here in Denmark, I can inform that a Hobie Adventurer kayak costs around 2,800 USD here for the basic version. Maybe the Mirage Turbo-drive could be implemented in the Wavebike? Just an idea...
We are no longer in production. If you are still around Hampton VA area and would like to go out on one though let us know. We still have a few owned by the partners in the company.

This is a very fine concept. I would consider buying one, if they were in production. The fishing-version. *s*
4000 USD a piece might be too steep, though.

@OleTC Our target price was more in the $2,500 - $3,000 range

@MrBigbear1684 I will check with the inventor and get back with you. Where are you located? We may still have some parts you might find useful. Jeff
