  • At the end of the day its not always important who has the faster car. Trust me this guy turns way more heads and gets way more ass with a slower, better sounding old school v8 then any guy who's pushing a car with 4 less cylinders. Maybe I'm biased because I own a 3rd gen Camaro but I've seen plenty of evo's and sti's faster then my car but when I roll by the looks are priceless, its about respect, people respect these older v8's

  • what year cmaro is that? is that a cross fire injection camaro?

  • I miss the 80s camaros! third gen was the best! This is just my opinion. Miss the 80s!

  • The lg4 had between 145-170 hp from 1982-1987 the l69 had 190 hp

  • Gah... 305 TPI 215-225 depending on the ECU. Stop being retarded kids... the camaro and subie STI are different beasts all together with their own pros/cons.

  • yeah i have a 1983 z28 i dropped a 400 hp 350 crate motor with vortech heads and i cant hook up at all with the stock rear end lol but i also put a zoom stage 2 clutch that helps

  • Yes it does also I said it's rare because if you knew me and my car you would know why it's rare it was one of the last 25th anniversary camaros made and they had and extra engine from a corvette that's why the 305 in my car is more rare then most camaros I should of explained that earlier

  • I'm not mad he's starting shit, I just know my car blew away a sti

  • I'm done having this argument just know that anybody driving a camaro has more class then the asshole driving a sti. Next time I see a gay Subaru I'm just gonna laugh because they got nothing on classic American muscle

  • @BornGNRfan Quit getting your panties in a knot buddy. It's the internet. :P My other car is a modded 1994 Subaru Legacy Turbo and it would probably take my Camaro off the line simply because 18psi and AWD means lightning fast launch, with no wheelspin, every time. Even though it's only probably running around 260-270 flywheel HP.

  • @Alph1us I doubt an sti would take a camaro off the line- Check the torque. My friend drag raced an awd subaru and it was a terrible race car off the line. AWD means you cant launch it hard or at high rpms or you will break the drive train. By time the sti builds up boost and applies it to all 4 wheels, that camaro will be gone. i mean they would both be somewhat stock, with enough money anything is possible.

  • @1faschicken An STi can drop the clutch at 5-6k and take off. No drivetrain breakage there. ;) The stock 6-speed in them is very strong.

  • @Alph1us No they're not strong dude... check the reviews. You can launch them at 6k but if you do it a lot expect to replace the subi drivetrain. Its actually nasty doing that to the AWD STi and I would not recommend it. I wouldn't recommend doing that in any stock car, but the STi's drivetrain takes a serious beating dropping it at 5-6grand off the line.

but you're right the "newer" STi would stomp the crap out of a Iroc style Z28. Now the LS1's are another story.

  • @Alph1us I am not trying to argue over youtube, you believe what you wanna believe about the STi drivetrain and what it can do its your right. If you own a STi well just keep doing a 6k linedrop and you will find out a year later what to expect, that is all I am saying.

  • @BornGNRfan why are you hating on STI's? I like both, great engineering on both sides.

  • @TheLBCSublime I coudlnot agree more.amen to that.I own a 1983 Trans am and I consider myself a muscle car enthusiast, but a car that does what is supposed to do and does it well it doesnot matter who makes it european , korean or japanese who cares we all got different tastes and that is not a reason to hate,It is a chunck of metal plastic and rubber and people argue and insult each other because of that be civilized be truly american.

  • @BornGNRfan I agree with you. Go Chevy!

  • Okay quit being such a arrogant fuck and go to china this America what car has more value a sti or a camaro I think camaro? Plus my car is 20 fucking years old and a car that has 260 hp and over 400 pounds of torque is pretty fucking fast and will be any Subaru off the line it's a v8 no v6 will beat a v8 off the line now I'm not saying a v6 wouldn't win I'm just saying my car would win in 1/4 mile race and yes my car can do 160 easily I broke my tack because the speedometer didn't go A's far as

  • @BornGNRfan You won't beat 300hp and AWD off the line.

  • @svtlincoln im not wasting any money my car is fast as it is plus where in the fuck are you gonna be doing 120+mph and do some research on your presious sti they barley make 180hp the only way u can get over 240 is with a shitload of mods. i think you should look at my old car its up on here type in camaro vs viper it should come up with a pic of a white third gen it has a 305 it only had a few mods check it out and then tell me if you think camaros are "hunk of shit" asshole.

  • @BornGNRfan LMFAO. 180hp?? you've got a STi mixed up with a base model WRX. A STOCK... read that again STOCK STi makes 300hp.(google it Stock STi hp) I'm checking YOUR uploads for a video and YOU have none. any asshole can claim another car is theirs in a video. I don't need to do 120mph to whoop your ass. Can that hunk of shit even make it to 120 in a half mile?? shit a stock MarkVIII will walk your ass. 1/4 mile run. guarantee you I beat you by AT LEAST 2 seconds. Man up or shut the fuck up.

  • cool car

t56 and a 5.3l for your next build lol

  • @RIEKSONE Not gonna say either way, but that may be in the cards in the next few years. ;)

  • @SannieClaws 120? Do some research before you talk the lowest hp in a camaro 305 is 170 mines a tpi and it get 240 hp

  • Everybody hates on a 305 i dont understand it's a great engine and fast too, some guy in a Subaru sti or whatever the he'll they are tried to race me and my car smoked it. It's a stalk 92 camaro RS 305 I love my car

  • @BornGNRfan You aren't beating anything in a Throttle body injected 305. You're lucky to be making 120hp to the wheels at this point.

  • @BornGNRfan

    put a turbo on it

trust me youll love the tpi torque

  • @BornGNRfan funny how the guy who has this "super fast" 305 claims he beat a 13sec sti even though his car won't even run 15's. I looked for a vid of this fast 305 you got... didn't find anything.

  • @svtlincoln my camaro has a 305 its fuel injected tpi its a rare engine for my car and my year thats why you didnt find anything on it also no sti is gonna beat a camaro, subarus are only fast if there built. camaros are fucking fast dont deny it

  • I thought they never had a 350 with a manual?

  • @schmbrt96 You are correct. Mine was a 305 H.O. many years ago with a factory 5 speed.

  • @schmbrt96 They didn't. His setup is not stock.

  • I used to own a third gen ..and seeing this video makes me want to buy another..i loved the way they felt to drive ...too bad mine was a slow ass 305...still managed to smoke the tires tho.

  • nice shifting!

  • NIce sound... can't beat the roar of a four-barrel. Cheers!

  • @IROCwarriorAMC88 The T5 is still in the car and doing OK, the input shaft splines are twisted and bearings growl sometimes but I'm running it until it breaks, I have a rebuilt one ready to go in. It was a mostly stock carbed 350 then, but now is much better, it has a Holley Stealth Ram with a MegaSquirt ECU and a bunch of internal work. The suspension at the time was stockish but now has many aftermarket parts and I am running 275/40R17 sticky rubber on all 4 corners. Haters gonna hate.

  • @Alph1us Is your T5 a Non-World Class?

  • @gtakilla22 Yes, it is a NWC. It hasn't died yet, it's been behind more power than it should for a few years now. I have a spare rebuilt NWC in my garage waiting to go in when this one dies.

  • were you flooring it?

  • Slow. Get a swap. 305 gets 160hp and high output gets 180hp. My friends ricecake gets 185 with 4 less cylinders and will be at 150 5hours quicker. Go for a fuel injection converted big block. Power and consistency all in one

  • @Z28Tom402bigblock At the time it was a carbed 350 making about 260 hp. Now it's a fuel injected 355 making about 340hp/400tq and I agree, FI is totally worth it over the carb. Big block is old school though, I need an LSx next. :)

  • @Alph1us 340hp?? I guess you've had it dyno'd then? or is that what your ass tells you?

  • @svtlincoln At the time of this video it was less, but since then I've made many improvements and had it dyno'ed. Gonna hit up the dyno again with even more HP after I get done with my aluminum head swap in the coming few months.

  • @Z28Tom402bigblock except if you read the description, you'd know it wasn't a 305...

  • @Z28Tom402bigblock Considering the only way anything with that little power will hit 150mph is off a cliff, I'd say whichever is more aerodynamic would hit 150 quicker.

  • @Z28Tom402bigblock 305 was 180 and ho was 195...google it !!!

  • i love this :) air breathing of an carb..bouuuaaAAAAA ! ;p

  • Nice!! Only with American muscle can you produce that sound!!

  • high oil pressure?

  • @MCLAChevyClub No, the stock gauge was broken at the time and I had a mechanical gauge hooked up instead.

  • I took a Stock 1989 LS 5.0 Mustage 145Mph on a two lane road at 3AM...That was in 2002 .I also had two Z-28's 1983, and my first car i bought for at 15 Years of age 100$ 1984 Black..I also could have bought a 1979 TransAm 6.6 400Cid for 250$ from the owner of Maco paint, all it needed was a Rear End.

  • haha damn dude nice shifting!

  • to get rid of any confusion from anybody who says the iroc couldn't corner they should watch my motorweek iroc z review. the iroc was motorweeks top pick for the best handling car of the 80's sports car it destroyed the mustang GT.

  • god I want my camaro to be a manual again :( had to get rid of my 5 spd camaro. thing was POS but fun. Got a nicer 1986, but unfortunately its auto... w/e

  • your car is carbed right b/c my 85 z28 sounds exactly like thst and i have the same exact set up 350 5-speed and i think there are gears in it b/c if i take my foot off the gas my car slows itself down even in 5th on the highway

  • this

  • Kicked The Fuck Outta That Clutch!

  • I love the sound of those kind of cars

  • Sounds so good

  • Nice!! I've got a 84' with a cammed 283 in it at the moment, planning on buying a 350 and building that at some point and swapping it out

  • Third gen camaro would be my first pick of any car ever, love them

  • Car Sounds Awesome Bro!! I regret selling my 89 IROC-Z mine had the 305 tbi and the speedo showed 110 only and it would pick up that top speed with no hesitation!!These cars are very desired classics now.Dont sell yours like i did

  • Nice...

  • me n my brother did 140 in 98 Z28 running nos with a 5.7 zo6 corvette engine it felt like we were gonna start flying

  • Comment removed

  • Rollin'!

  • thats not the 5.0 h.0...... with the 5 spped borg warner transmission,,,,,,,,if its alll stock?

  • Damn thats nice. I miss my 87 Iroc. And to those bashing the 3rd gen "handling" I took a 20 mph rated curve at 53 mpg once. Slipped JUST a tad. Lets see you do that in your Whale Tail fart cannon.

  • drove my friends for him to see what it would do it was an 84 z 28 and with the 4 spd auto it would not do more stock than 148 mph it kept going from 3rd to 4th gear

  • I miss my square and circle GM keys! :-( nice run BTW!!

  • @demariojason i hope those can be remade, without having to pay a whole lot

  • Burgh181 your a retard rice rockets don't do anything close to what American muscle can do CAMARO all the way

  • you shift like lightning! How does the 5 speed stand up to the 350?

  • Very nice!

  • Very nice. I had an 89 1LE with the G80 posi. Was the best handling car I've ever driven. Was squirrley in the ass end but easy to recover even in rain.

  • good "old power"

    yep..

  • Love that sound! :o)

  • say goodbye to your clutch lol.

  • Comment removed

  • she sounds good

  • I'm sorry but 1982 to 1992 weren't very nice looking Camaros. Now 1970 to 1981, that's where it's at! Classic muscle there.

  • Hey! I love the sound of that cast-iron Chevy V-8 with all four barrels opened up! Looks like a real joyride! Keep it going man! NICE!

  • is this camaro standard

  • why nwould you get rid of the posi now you can only do a pissy one wheel burn out fail!!!! nice car though

  • @gokarter57275 Didn't have a posi from the factory. It does now.

  • @Alph1us

my 84 has a posi track . I don't know if it was from the factory or not. But yep, both them back tires are pretty positive!!

  • @Alph1us Well my 84' Z28 has stock posi in the rear end? why didnt yours? manufacturers defect? or osmeone dumped it too hard doin a dirt pavement transfer in yours? P.S. how many horses you kikin?

  • @legindoi1 I'm up to about 360 right now, but the next motor I'm planning should be better. I'm gonna go LSx. It wasn't posi from the factory. Different cars were ordered differently and had different options. The person who ordered mine didn't tick the Positraction Differential option on the order sheet. That was one of the first things I fixed.

  • @gokarter57275 u dumb ass if you knew at all what u where talking about you would no that posi track is dangerous when going around turns and shit

  • @Jeeptj33s if you werent a bitch you would know how to handle oversteer or wheel slip tht comes with a posi rear end

  • @gokarter57275 shut the fuck i bet you've never driven a car with posi let alone a fast sports car or you would no you corner faster without it

  • @Jeeptj33s if you werent a bitch you would know how to handle oversteer or wheel skip tht comes with a posi rear end

  • @gokarter57275 hey no posi is better that your POS dirtbike think b4 talking shit about somebodys car and yes yes i know your gonna reply saying how u own this big badass car you have no videos to prove it so dont even try

  • @79TAGio first. that pos dirtbike was a school project i paid 90 dollars for it fixed it got it running and sold it for 500.

second i dont own a car i own a all stock jeep zj

third. if you look at my first comment you will see i actually like third gen. camaros especially this one and i asked a question and some dumb bitch comment on a question that had nothing to do with them.

fourth even though your being a dick i still have respect for a nice car so.

your trans-am is sexy as fuck.

  • @gokarter57275 yesterday i was in a bad mood my bad.... thanks btw

  • @79TAGio its cool we all have those days

  • Man, My first race car was a 1984 camero z28 red, I loved that car

  • @burgh181 Third generation F-Bodies like my Camaro actually corner very well. Bone stock without any suspension upgrades the skidpad numbers are around .92G and it only gets better with a little knowledge and money.

  • @Alph1us

road ant track rated BEST HANDLING CAR IN AMERICA

  • @Alph1us

road and track rated BEST HANDLING CAR IN AMERICA

  • @Alph1us

road and track rated best handling car in america

  • @Alph1us i have to agree my 83z28 gets around corners than my buddies bmw 328is

  • @Alph1us Try .85g... No muscle cars beside the new ones will pull .92ish stock.

  • @1993hondaaccord "The entire package resulted in a Camaro that could pull 0.92 Gs on the skid pad and seven second 0-to-60 mph times in stock trim." From Hemmings Motor News. Check your facts. ;)

  • @Alph1us "But on a tighter than usual 150-ft skidpad the Camaro's larger tires helped it around at a higher lateral acceleration, 0.85 to 0.80. The Camaro's front suspension geometry may also be less troubled by the tight radius." That was comparing the 86 camaro f-body iroc and the 86 mustang gt. My info came from road and track, a reliable source.

  • @1993hondaaccord Lateral acceleration numbers are subject to measurement error. In order to guarantee an accurate comparison the same equipment must be used the same way and the test run in the same conditions. Two reputable sources have somewhat different numbers from different cars on different days with different equipment. That's understandable. Regardless of that, the 3rdgen Camaro in stock form is a handling contender equal to many modern sports cars, and better than many cars of the 80's.

  • @burgh181

Feel free to race me in whatever piece of shit you drive.

ps. "Yank tank" naturally aspirated 550rwhp 0.95g skidpad...

  • @burgh181 that car actually will handle a corner extremely well compared to many smaller cars. ive done a corner at 160 where a BMW m3 slid out at 135ish

  • @burgh181 The 1984 Camaro Z28 was on the list of the worlds top 10 best performing cars.

  • @burgh181 Try laying down a 9 second time slip in one of those rice burners without the need for American muscle.

  • @burgh181 you have NO idea about anything you are talking about. 3rd generation camaros are some of the best handling cars to hit the streets anywhere!

  • @burgh181 umm..... you obviously know nothing about 3rd generation camaros. especially iroc z-28s. i had a 305 one that i restored and sold to some young kid, but damn, i drove it, and it took a sharp 90 degree turn at 58 like it was nothing!! that thing handled so good! im pretty sure if you check that the suspension was upgraded to bilstien componetns if you vouchered for the iroc z28 in 85- 90 1/2.

  • @burgh181

damn right we will, without a SWEAT.

  • @burgh181 how dare you disgrace the Camaro!

  • @wheeler8801 ignore the haters. import became popular with the fast and furious movies, now that fad is gone and all those douchebags are jealous cause they traded their muscle cars for cars that just don't even feel fast even if they are. this is coming from a honda/chevy fan

  • @burgh181 actually they handle extremely well i can go into a 85 degree turn with it about 65kph comfortably

  • @burgh181 my 1980 camaro handles well also even if its a tank. it still handles like a champ

  • @burgh181 ha ha, didn't you know? those cars are known for their stock handling abilities. sure it's not a skyline, but it didnt cost 100 grand plus several grand in "bling" upgrades. when you drive a muscle car it actually feels fast. you dont have to wait for the turbo to spool up, or have to kick people out to save on your weight. i like imports too, but to get a fast one you got to buy an expensive one or buy a cheap one and put a lot of money into it. it's just not anything like a v8, imo

  • @burgh181 its always a mis-conception that american muscle cars cant handle well or take turns at speeds. but that hasnt been true since like the 60's- late 70's

  • @burgh181

It's ok, you're just jealous that we own all your car companies and dragged them out of the shit hole.

Lets see one of those RR Phantoms on a track!

  • @burgh181 The Camaro's, and Firebird/Trans AM Always cornered well in the Second, and Third gen, since they're quite wide, and low to the ground, i wouldn't go totally dissing all the american companies with their muscle cars, the Corvettes to this day corners almost just as well as a BMW M3, little suspension mod, and it would do wonders. the newer Mustangs, and Camaro's, and Challengers don't corner as good.

  • @srrymonkey the z06 and zr1 corner better than an m3 and do everything else better too

  • @burgh181 you got owned fucktard.

  • watched this 5 times and finnaly figured out that u dont have 6 cuz thats ova drive for a 350

  • @acemontages My trans is a 5-speed. 5th is overdrive.

  • @Alph1us dosent make sense to me my friend formula fire bird is a 6 speed 6th is over drive same eng

  • @acemontages '93 and newer manuals were 6-speed. His must be newer.

  • @acemontages on the six speeds 5th and 6th are both overdrive with 4th being the 1 to 1 ratio.

  • @Alph1us 3rd is direct drive, 4th is overdrive, 5th is double over drive.

  • @ryanericw The Borg-Warner T5 my car uses actually has 1:1 direct drive in 4th gear, and 5th is a .78:1 overdrive. A T56 has direct drive in 4th, then an overdrive in 5th and a .5:1 double overdrive in 6th. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

  • @Alph1us That's funny because I rebuild a borg warner t5, and it was direct in 3rd. Perhaps a different model if it exists? or bad info?

  • @acemontages you do realize that all 350's arent the same, and that a "overdrive" means the gear is spinning faster than the engine. Some cars have 5th AND 6th gear overdrive! OH MY GOODNESS!!!

  • good shifting man

  • What all is in this "mildly built 350"?

  • @theman121093 Flat top hypers in a bored out 350, zero decked, little head work, headers and cam

  • noice. (red beads, the fuck?)

  • gotta love a quadrajet sound and a manual tranny, and the third gen cars,I recentley bought a 88 T/A GTA ,These cars are fun!

  • man i love the sound of a quadrajet. yummy.

  • got that bitch screamin. wat kinda transmission you running?

  • its funny how the only way people can make fun of your camaro is your beads. nice car. i used to have the same one but auto. now i got a 1987 camaro

  • nice!!!'

  • ^ sad because he doesnt have a third gen. its ok nosillla, your hating and fail have not gone unnoticed :D

  • Comment removed

  • quadrajet!

  • jeeez i love that q jet sound dude and the 5 speed makes it better

  • How much on 1/4 mile?

  • I like sound of 350 :)

    5*

  • do i hear a quadrajet???

  • nice run man.. i still havent tryed the true power of my camaro cuss it has a broken suport thing by the tranny .. but as soon as i fix it ill post a vid running too..;)

  • Hey if you haven't already fixed it i think its your bottom transmission mount. i have broke mine 6 times lol. its right on the bottem it connects to the cross-member. 7 bucks for the cheap one at shucks or i bought the heavy duty one for 30. then jack tranny up a bit and slap the new one in =]

  • @LeeMurphyRobertson ... yeah man ive seen it it is broken . im going to look for like a heavy duty one hopefully it lasts longer lol

  • u should check my pulls in first and second...then i have a 3rd gear pull from 1800 to 6300 rpm.....but nice car man

  • Thaks man and your car is awesome to. Die hard Chevy fan here.. Before my SS I had a 79 Z28 with the 350 C.i (Stock) and the 4spd. iN case anyone wants to know you couldn't get that combination in the states in 79 but you could in Canada! And my Z was built in Norwood,OH Destined for Canada! It had T-tops and A/C, pw, pdl,3.23 rears with Limited slip. GU3 and G80 option codes. So there ya go I have a little knowledge too! C60 was the code for A/C lol. Enjoy your Camaro! Sounds and looks good!

  • Why in hell does everyone dis each others cars? I have vids of my 87 Monte Carlo SS that I refuse to post. Just for people to argue and dis it and act like they "KNOW IT ALL" The 305 HO took a crap on me so I bought a GM crate motor 350 350 horsepower, had the 200r4 worked over with a shift kit and 3500 rpm stall. 3' exhaust with headers (true Duals) an auburn posi unit with stock 3:73 gearing. And working A/C. Its by no means a drag car but I can surprise people with it. A daily driver..

  • It doesn't really matter to me who disses on my car. It is just the internet after all... Plus it's amusing when guys like that get all worked up about stuff.

Your car sounds sweet, I've always loved those Monte Carlos. And if it makes you happy, who cares what anybody else thinks?

    Rock on.

  • @sparksandflames

you can always disable comments on em or set em up so you have to "approve" them before they show up

  • dont listen those douchbags! your camaro is awesome and it shows the beautiful sound of the quadrajet! nice vid!!! 5/5!

  • Thanks.

  • It sounds good. Don't respond to the douchebags that have something negative to say.

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds like emissions lol you can always hear that choked sound in a smog motor.

  • Not a smog motor... It's a mildly built 350 with headers and carbureted. Definitely not smogged.
