  • THE MUSIC IS JUST TOO LOUD.

  • omgosh this brings back memories

Do you have clips from palace with kofoworola baker?

that used to be my personal favourite at the time

  • Speaking of Akpan, a friend of mine used to work with him in the late 90's in the Trocadero in London; they were both security guards. I saw a short drama titled "family legacy" on Nollywood a few days ago and he was in it. Still looking good and a fantastic actor.

  • @jemmabond Dude! Dat one na old story! I posted that comment 7MONTHS AGO!!

  • WEtin da HELL? Who uploaded this video clip? Where did u find it? GOD BLESS YOU MY BRODA/SISTA! This was when NTA was brodcasting QUALITY PROGRAMMING! Not the TRASH being shown today! By the way, what are the MTN & Silverbird TV logos doing here in this clip? Were they existing as at the time this quality drama was being aired? Anyway sha, God bless u for uploading this video!

  • i always wonder what ever happened to akpan...i heard he died but never believed it the guy just vanished sha?hmm

  • @8701bigfan Please oh! Akpan is NOT DEAD!

He now directs and produces Nollywood films. His real name is Lancelot Oduduwah Imasuen.

  • @vixxy02 sweetheart i said i HEARD and DID NOT BELIEVE!

  • @8701bigfan Bless you! You know how the Naija rumor-mongering goes...lol!

  • @vixxy02 Lancelot Imasuen is not Akpan. Akpan's real name is Tunde Euba

  • @suyalife you're mistaken!

  • @vixxy02 no seriously. Google Tunde Euba and you'll find his pictures. I also remembered Akpan being a little light-skinned and Lancelot Imasuen looks nothing like the Akpan in Checkmate

  • @suyalife I'll look it up!

  • Comment removed

  • @vixxy02 Dude, Akpan's real name is Tunde Euba, and I can confirm that he is still very much alive. He lives here in the United Kingdom where he works in theatre.

  • OMG, check mate, we need to see behind the clouds too

  • the music brings back childhood memory.. mehn time flies so fast..

  • @ okocha i wanna say checkmate was either 1989 and 1990 and Behind the Clouds was 1991-1992 cos i think i was still in Sec School when this was on.. And i was in Boarding sch and will be mad when it was time to go back to sch cos i will miss the shows..

I so remember the tune on this clip altough i dont remember this characters..

  • 10x dude.

  • @kingsdick wrng..Behind the clouds went on air b4 Checkmate

  • @kingsdick Checkmate was around '88'-94! Behind the cloud was much earlier more like '85-89!

  • Wrong! Checkmate was from 91-94, although there was a short break when NTA network stopped showing it, and the state TV stations took over. Behind the Cloud was from 88-90; they stopped it after Nosa died, and replaced it with Supple Blues. 1985 was the year of Mirror in the Sun.

  • @jemmabond Behind the Clouds was not stopped after Nosa's death; it died naturally. Before Nosa died in real life, his father in Behind The Cloud; Mr. Okonzua, was missing. After Nosa's death, they somehow fit the tragedy into the script and when Mr. Okonzua came back they told him Nosa had died in his absence. The Soap went on for a while before it ended.

  • @73geneva Every single thing you just said is true - I remember that story line. But I also know for a fact that the show was never the same after MacArthur Fom's death; most of the actors were depressed - Ene Oloja (Funmi) and Franca Brown (Mama Nosa) in particular were affected the most. And most viewers missed him, so they stopped watching the show.

  • @jemmabond Perhaps. Anyway, cheers!

  • Boy, the good old days. Greatest soap EVER.

  • OOOOOHHH I remeber d tune to this musik. very old stuff.
