Why does Ryusuke looks like a japanese? He comes from america. And his guitar is stupid. The bullet holes were just painted. It is often so that realmovies are cheap, for example Death Note. But Taira looks really authentic. ^_^

What I'm very much impressed about this movie is that Ryusuke (Mizushima) and Maho (Kutsuna) speak VERY VERY very good English!! You'll love this movie. It rocks!!

@reitantei You'd still think they'd be able to find someone. In the original Japanese anime the guy who did the voice wasn't that great, but you still bought into it and it was still a great series. I think if they had found someone with a decent voice and then not over-hyped how good he was supposed to be (i.e. not have every member of the audience's jaws drop when he opens his mouth), it would have been a more enjoyable movie.

The movie is actually good but Its Ryuusuke who give the fender telecaster to koyuki! and rikya break the telecaster and not the acoustic one! And Isumi is not in the movie!

I was surprised when I did that how terrible it was.

There were some things that I thought could have been done better (like actually showing Koyuki singing) but overall it was very good. When you make something liv action, you are going to have to condense some story lines and cut other things out. What we got with this is the essence of the first story arc.

@madman88 the author is very into american and brit rock. He credits the Red Hot Chilly Peppers "Under the Bridge" for helping get through a rough time in his life. Yes the bassist is based on Flea, Ryuske's character was based on Page, frontman Chiba based on Zack of RATM & main character Koyuki's style of guitar playing on Tom Morello. Even Ryuske's guitar was influenced by the story of BB king's Lucile guitar.

Chaque fois que koyuki chante, on coupe sa voix pour garder je ne sais quel mystère.

Les acteurs... au bout d'un moment on fini pas s'habituer a leurs exagérations d'expression et mouvements.

C'est nul et je ne suis pas surpris. -_-

Cela dit l'histoire est respecté les entorse qui y sont faite sont faite intelligemment donc ca va.

RATM woke him up, shook his head~ thus merge a good sense of rock influence in the story, hahaha you can actually see references of Flea on the bass, Jimmy Page on lead and on the original anime the other guy hold the guitar like Tom Morello of RATM. And Chiba the lead vox acts like Zack of RATM~ love and peace~ rock-en-roll~

@mandman88 Harold Sakushi, the author of the original manga, was heavily influenced by RATM, RHCP, and Zeppelin. Koyuki's attire and the way he holds his guitar was based on Tom Morello of Rage and Ryusuke took influences from Jimmy Page from Zeppelin in looks as well as playing styles from Morello(as seen when he DJ scratches on his guitar in the anime), and overall style and musical demeanor from Frusciante of The Chili Peppers.

So yeah, lots of influences in the manga, anime, and film. :]
