I have two hands lol. I don't know about using bare wire. Magnet wire has a very strong lacquer coating because you don't want to wire to short circuit.
yes i know, i was asking if you know what material a DIY person like me can coat bare wire with. i have a lot of bare copper wire that i would like to try coating myself.
People buy the wire precoated, i cant imagine an easy way to coat it yourself, its not impossible but it would take forever to do. I'm sure a plastic based clear coat would work.
Excuse my ignorance bro, but what are you using the triangular coils for man? Are U just showing that U can make any type of coil or have I missed an important step in the advancement of Bedini coil winding? Hey, as a side note, have you seen the dude that made a jig that twists the wires as they wind? It's awesome! Beats the hell out of laying out hundreds of feet of wire because it can all be done at home. I love it! Either way nice jig man. Keep up the good work! Rock On
This is just a coil winder for the alternator. I use a drill to wind my bedini coil. I am also working on a "fishing reel" type winder to make the coils better.
I use an old rotisserie motor from a BBQ to power mine and a nut spring washer combination on the supply shaft to set the drag of the supply spool. I make the winding forms out of scrap wood. This gives allot of control over the finish product. Next you need to make a toroid winder.
That sounds cool too! I need to read up on the purpose of a toroid and a choke. A lot of people talk about them which leaves me in the dark. The more I build, the more I realize I NEED to know more. Thank you all for the help! I certainly love to build and I hate having to re-invent the wheel so to speak. Since more college is out of the question, I must learn through my own research and the help of others :) lol
Thanks Jack...I am glad you are still watching! I love to build and see for myself that these contraptions are possible. The right formula is in our grasp!
Hi, I've been around watching videos on the subject for a while, I will be experimenting soon but still I have a question for you :Do you see any direct application for this setup ? do you think it could be powering a small car or someting? thanks keep on the good work
I believe there will be a way to "stack" these units once they are engineered to produce power for the home. This is small scale to prove the theory. Then move to a large prototype once the "bugs" are worked out.
Over the years I've made a number of winders and one of the tricks I use, is to place a clicker type counter like used for taking head counts, manual counter. Attach it where the plunger gets depressed only once per rev. This really helps when you go over 1000 turns. Keep up the good work.
Another good idea is to put adjustable drag on your source spool. I have seen others use a bicycle brake.... I put a white piece of tape on one area so I remember to count that when it comes around.
can you use it to make homemade pickups like single coil pickups?

Very nice winder and fine advice on rounding the edges and making the two slot angled. I'll begin building my own right away. Thanks!

i built one once but i used a BBQ rotisery motor the crank it,,but great job 5 stars ..cheers

how do you crank the handle and hold the spool at the same time?
also, do you know a good coating material for bare copper wire? similar to magnet wire coating, not the insulated stuff.
