I live in Jacksonville NC right next to Camp Lejuene where the marines are stationed. There always moving and getting deployed etc and there just through there dogs on the streets, it's so bad animal control won't even pick up the vicious dogs. Anyway i take many dogs home and find them homes on craigslist, amazing how fast they go, it's a lot better than taking them to be killed at least.

ps. 13mordeth is right to a degree... Check out the undercover Peta videos about so called humane killing of dogs in animal shelter's in America... Many are gassed.. Lots of dogs, thrown in together, puppies included,,, It can take up to an hour for them to die,, screaming in agony, blinded, poisoned, choking... It's truly horrible, and i wouldn't recommend watching it,, but it's a horrific eye opener to what really, often, occurs.....

I would actually take every single stray dog i found,, (as i have in the past with kittens) and keep them, look after them until they are well, and then do my absolute best to re home them.. It isn't that hard to show a little kindness....... And if you put a little effort in,, it isn't actually that hard to re home them..... Let's hope a truly kind hearted person found these puppies, and did the decent, human, thing.....

Well, back in our great old Canada, shelters, not the government funded pound, have a no kill policy. So it would of been sort of easy to take them there and feel great about it, but what about where he lives? Plus, That being said, stealing someones dog is still a crime guys, so really all he could of done was left a note and told animal services. There is a difference between no action, reaction, and over reaction.

I think you made the right call. They've don't act abused & have a chance. The lack of fur could be didactic mange (? I think) that flares up from time to time (one of my rescues came with mange, another with hot spots & another with a rat tail, tho we've gotten the fur to grow back on his butt. The circle looked like some kind of burn from an exhaust pipe or some such. Folks, there aren't many no-kill shelters...Your dog's awesome BTW & kinda looks like that dog from your Taiwan abuse shoot.

I had a dog get kicked by a horse one time(sure, dog was probably pestering the horse) and after it's wound healed, that's what it's scar looked like. I doubt that's what happened to that puppy but the scarring reminded me of it.

I remember one time i went back to Taiwan. A typhoon happened to hit the island a few days after my arrival. As the rain poured down, I saw a couple of puppies, with no mom, hiding in a bush eating plastic. They basically had no home, no food, and no mom. Unfortunately, this happens a lot in Taiwan.

If i saw a stray puppy I would take it with me, strolling in my car and all of a sudden I see a stray dog or pup I would bring it in my car and then I help it, of course I would bring it to a shelter or something hoping that someone takes it. Of course it's not easy to just help it in another country because sometimes they don't get the attention they need.
