  • It's bricked. Did you hack it or JTag it?

  • its a bad flash

  • omg look at the penis

  • TTGswwt2insane is correct but if it's not, then your original nand image os fucked and corrupted (dec and enc only) so your error does relate to the Kv being "bad" but that's not true in your case, your nand was probably reading as usualy and it lagged (not connection wise) and skipped the Kv_dec.bin.

  • is that a jtag ? cuz if it is it cuz a Bad Kv u can fix it

  • Microwave that bit ch and send it back in another case. i did that and got it fixed on first re-return

  • I have 4 videos on this same thing. We've coined it XRROD or Christmas RROD. It's M$ self-destruct for people using hacked firmware flashed on the DVD drive and then sent it for some random issue. When I called about this M$ pretended not to know what this meant. If anyone has this issue, plug an ethernet cable in the back and see what happens. 99% of the time the XRROD will go to 1RROD and have the imfamous black screen in a bajillion languages stating E49. The NAND is corrupt or blank.

  • happend to me with seal intact sent it to microsoft and they sed i had been tampering with it>!

  • sent my xbox 2 microsoft 2 weeks ago with disc drive problems..not loading discs..bought console 21 dec 08..currys.micro soft sent my xbox back with a letter saying it had been attempted tampering..all seals intact.plugged it in 2 find it has 2 red and 2 green flashing lights..what has microhard done 2 my console and whats with the attempted letter..just cos my front panel was missing.

  • same thing happend to me! wtf

  • ok what this means is that they have taken out your xclamps and there is these little black screws on the mother board that when they are missing it doesnt work and that usually means that it was tamperd with\

  • Microsoft doesn't fix this. They will tell you that you've been tampering with it.

I'll go call my inside man, see if I can get more info.

  • People have been calling this as "Christmas lights" lol.

Every time I seen this it was caused by data corruption. If your console is sealed I don't think MS will refuse service as it might be caused by datacorruption. If it has no warranty seal or it was removed then yes they will say you have tampered with it.

  • @leonardoliveira Yes they will deny it from warranty. This just happened to me. All the seals were in place untampered with. I sent it in for open tray error, they refused warranty work and it came back to me like this. I just got off the phone with a so called service rep. These guys are a joke. Machine is only a year old and now a paper weight. These are crooks >>>BUYERS BEWARE

  • @hanskaltwasser That specific blinking pattern was originally meant to tell that the XBOX360 console is in "factory mode". But once they started to check the consoles for motherboard tampering (yes, "unban" and "JTAG") they started to "consider" any console that comes back with that blinking pattern to have been tampered with. Which is not fair on some malfunction cases.

The reason why they are refusing consoles now are WARRANTY FRAUD.

One can't blame them after thousands of people doing it.

  • @leonardoliveira I think you misunderstood me. I sent it in for an open tray error. It came back from them with this blinking pattern and yes I blame them all the way. They are the ones that made my sons xbox inoperable. This wasnt a case of tampering and warranty fraud. For the past hour I have been researching this and apparently I'm not the only one this has happened to. The fraud is on their part.

  • @hanskaltwasser I didn't misunderstood you. I am saying they're doing that when they think people did mod their consoles.

I'm not saying or implying that you did anything wrong.

They just put the machine on manufacture mode and don't finish the service, leaving the machine unusable. They probably deem fair to deprive you from your property on terms of their service agreement.

They will allege that you're modifying the software within the system and that it's their property.

  • @leonardoliveira I suppose they might have that in their fine print. You would think that they would have the decentsy to explain to you how the machine was tampered with if they are going to render it inoperable. If they cant explain why they screw your machine up worse than when you have sent it in ,then they dont deserve my business. I dont know how to modify the xbox so I wouldnt atempt it. BUYER BEWARE OF A COMPANY THAT WILL NOT SUPPORT THEIR WARRANTY." MICROCRAP" AND MICROCRAP SERVICE"

  • @leonardoliveira They dont need to screw up my xbox just because they dont want to warranty it. Return it in the same condition I sent it to you in. I believe this is a deliberate action to piss people off . This isnt the first time I have read of this happening. If you're going to screw something up,have the balls to explain why you did it. You can stick up for them all you want. All I wanted was legitimate warranty work! THEY ARE CROOKED!

  • @hanskaltwasser Again you're misunderstanding me. I'm not defending them. I'm giving an technical explanation to what they did to your console. I believe you should go to the justice and seek for compensation for the damage they caused to your property.

  • @leonardoliveira It would cost more than it is worth to get compensation on it. There is the problem of proving it as well. I just want people to know that they can do whatever they want and claim what ever they want on warranty services because they know there are enough sheep they will continue to buy their products. It's just a crappy situation for no real solution. I just assumed that they would treat customers with some respect and at least give some real evidence to their claims .

  • @hanskaltwasser It's pretty obvious now that their current business model rely on the fact that a *LOT* people will mod the consoles. They then are being more rigid now with the bans and nuking the machines because they know people will simply buy another unit and mod again. People buying used units or being victim of unauthorized repair shops are exposed to be mistaken with thieves and then penalized. It's sad but it happens. It's a multi-billion dollars corporation we're talking about here :)

  • @leonardoliveira This may be true. I bought the unit new in a sealed box. I could possibly understand if it were a used or repaired item, but its not. It's a new unit under a year old. I dont mod and my 6yrd son certainly doesnt. They can nuke my son's console but they have certainly lost my business. If you make a claim on a newly bought item, back it up,dont just state that you can make that claim. That's just weak. I hope that company rotts in hell for all im concerned.

  • @leonardoliveira I'm just irretated that I didn't buy him the Wii that he wanted and instead I have a paper weight now that he is expecting me to fix. This will be his first lesson, dont buy junk and you wont have junk. I guess that I'm a bit old fashioned in that you should stand behind your product, but I guess this is the old america I'm talking about. I will be buying him the Wii instead of the kinect that I was expecting to. They wont screw me no longer. Really dissapointed in them.

  • @hanskaltwasser Yes, for a little kid, I can only recommend the Wii.

But then Nintendo is also doing the "if you mod the console" we will not repair it.

I am afraid you just "picked the wrong box" in the display at the shop. (like for example some unit that an thief "bought" and swapped the innards then returned to the shop). The shop employees then just put it back on the display for the next customer to pick up.

Hopefully you will have more luck with Nintendo products.

  • @leonardoliveira I suppose that could been the case but I'm not the only one this has happened to. Can these things be modded without the seals being removed? I inspected them when it was returned to me and they havnt benn tampered with. This seems to be rather wide spread to just be a random incident. There have been many complaints about the very thing that happened to me. The seals were in place the box was sealed . I just wonder if they screwed his 120 GB hardrive as well. Scheiss company

  • @hanskaltwasser I don't know the details of how people do warranty fraud but sadly it's very common and sometimes it's even discussed on internet forums.

Unfortunately the bomb blows on someone else's lap eventually.

  • @leonardoliveira I understand the fraud part but atleast explain wtf happened. This was a simple case of them squirming out of the warranty. I'm a fn man ,I can handle the explanation, just tell me . I dont believe fraud in any way was the case. It was a simple case of, I'm the big dog, you have to take it. I guess you think whatevever they decided, they were justified.

  • @hanskaltwasser Imagine the case of a kid who modified his brand new console to play pirated discs and get caught by XBOX security team. Knowing that he can't use the console online anymore, he damages the DVD drive somehow and goes to a shop, purchase other console. Swap the "gut" of the two consoles and return the banned console to the shop. You pick that box and take it home. It plays for a week (a shop clerk fixed it somehow) and gets faulty. You send it to MS and you know the rest ...

  • @leonardoliveira How do you swap the guts without breaking the seal? The was nothing about the #'s matching up. There is no way to prove my complaints. This is not a lone experience. This has happened to many others. The bottom line is, if they would just tell me what the problem was then I would have a better idea of whom to blame. This is not the first time this problem has been brought up.

  • @hanskaltwasser The problem is the fact that their seal is not really tamper proof and how they can't tell apart an tamper attempt from a manufacture error. If a console doesn't follow the expected specs it's banned from XBOX Live.

And if a banned console is sent in to repair it's returned in MFG mode (unusable + 2red/2green lights). Sorry to hear they did that to you while you're not at fault.

Warranty fraud is just one of the possibilities. It could also be manufacture error.

  • @leonardoliveira If it is that hard for to tell if a seal is tampered with then they ought to make notes on why they are willing to screw your machine up on a judgement. Like I said many times before, there are techs they repair these xbox's that have seen what I have experience this first hand. They have no right to tamper with my xbox just because its in their possesion. On one hand your saying sue them,on the other your saying they have the right to do what they did, regaudless if they're righ

  • @hanskaltwasser They're afraid that explaining why they did ban/disable systems could help the pirates/transgressors on figuring out the detection mechanisms. And by now I suppose they're fed up with repairing systems that have been damaged/modified for piracy purposes.

I'm just telling you that they might be annoyed enough to not care anymore about the consequences of causing damage to third party properties. Forgive me if I failed to transmit that information. I'm not a native english speaker

  • @leonardoliveira Your english is good. Portuguese normally? I jsut would like an explanation when there were no pry marks on tabs, seals were perfect and they claim it was tampered with. I guess they're willing to piss off some legitamate customers to stop some fraudulent claims. I think half the problem is that they have made such junk that they are finding ways to get out of their warranties. I wish they were local because I would be in some peoples face right now.

  • @leonardoliveira It has been manufactorer problem many times. When I see that they are willing to screw up my machine without an explenation, then nothing they do would suprise me. Well I chewed them out for 30 mins yesterday, they get here it from my wife today and I just might give them another call until they own up to what they have down. It's time for them to sack up and admit that they are screwing machines up on purpose.

  • @hanskaltwasser The whole problem lies on the fact that they assume that "our factory process is perfect, it must be the customer who is trying to cheat on us" while the consoles are manufactured on a slaughterhouse Chinese company where the workers are so stressed they're trying to commit suicide from time to time (yes look up for foxconn suicide on google.)

  • @leonardoliveira I'll tell one thing, I would really like to commit warranty fraud against them now if I get a chance.

  • @hanskaltwasser it's sad to hear that you're so angry you would consider that, but then I guess you're pretty much annoyed by now.

I again suggest that you look into customer protection authorities and prove that your claims are legitimate. By doing that, you will be forcing Microsoft to audit it's production/manufacture and service/support channels.

    If that happens, everyone wins.

  • @leonardoliveira Yes ,I am very agry. I was irritated when I found out that it wasnt repairedbecause of tampering. I am really pissed now that have furthered the damage . Its just deviant on their part. I would havea hard time proving it and would have to track down all of the people that they have done this to. Like you said yourself, they are a multibillion corp, that have many lawyers to discredit any claims. I will continue to spread my experience with as many will listen.

  • @leonardoliveira It's their problem if they dont have enough common sense to evaluate something fairly.

  • @hanskaltwasser Well, it's a moot point. That's why I said you should pursue your rights. At least demand your money back.

  • @leonardoliveira For someone that doesnt care about being screwed over,I supposed the xbox works if you take a screwing and keep on buying. All I asked for was a descriptive explanation of the tampering. Too fn much for them, which tells me they are lying. I like xbox graphics and its games but if they can screw their customers ,than they can shove it! Goodluck with your but all of mine have been crap.

  • @leonardoliveira I called them up to see what specifically was tampered with and they couldnt tell me . I guess they dont keep detailed notes or wouldnt tell me. I have no confidence in a company that can deny for some made up reason that they cant explain. At least give me the reason you fried my machine but no ,they just claim they didnt do this to it. They did it to it ,not I......

  • i had that befor i was youtube member

call microsoft and tell dem to fix that

  • I have this error also, Has anyone found out what it relates to? Hardware error or something?
