dunno if this got shown but if you are outside the castle, get the wing hat and shoot urself out of the cannon, fly to the absolute highest ledge you can reach on the top of the castle and jump while pushing against the wall of the castle youll fall through it and land behind the front doors similar to what happened at 0:30 in this vid.

This is how super Mario 64 glitches happen. Mario gets bored from roaming around the castle after he beat Bowser, so he tries to explore the WHOLE castle. Example: going behind the walls.
