  • i know i definatley aspire to be a pro freerunner and im 12. it is my one true passion and i know tempest is the main reason i even know what it is. wish i could train with u guys if only u didnt live across the country

  • fuck she's so ugly

  • @bloodzitup not really

  • i love what she is saying about parkour/free running. to all the people in georgia me and a few other people are in the process of getting a parkour gym in Columbus, georgia by the end of this year.

  • is it the quality of the video or is she like 31 years old?

also "Steel" is like THE worst nickname you could come up with, literally

its like being a swimmer and being nicknamed "Rock"

  • @Da1337ed ur opinion

  • @Da1337ed hahaha! Yes, good point.. if only you knew the reason...

  • Rofl "Oh little girl do you need help?" "No I don't need help, I'm tough!" hell of a girl :D

  • you got that!!! i look up to this women parkour is life but we need to get it out there

  • ITS ALL A CALCULATED RISK

  • So true, A couple of weeks ago, me and my team got stopped by the police, because they thought we were just stupid kids, not knowing what there doing, and they made some bullshit up about freerunning and parkour being illegal in every country, So fucking annoying. The cops have no idea.

    (:

  • song at 0:45-1:00?

  • Lusi i love u!!!!EEEEEE

  • Marry meee!!!!!

  • Can i get her number??? I think i need to marry this woman. LIKE NO LIE. Sub to me Lucy Steel, Subbbbbb to me babe....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh....OH.....OH......YEAHHHH! I just came, OH OH!

  • @ItsAllJustMovement hahahahahahahajajajaja im sending that to her

  • 5* for making free running more well known

  • luci steel is my heroine, and i do mean the kind you shoot into your arm...wait what

  • "freerunning is about efficent movement" what is that all about? Le-Parkour is about efficent movement, not freerunning :P

  • @tf90 Creativity ....the last word she said cccc

  • I don't think PK or FR should ever become mainstream, because people would only end up doing it because their peers do it and it's the "cool" thing to do. What it should be is a passion that the minority do, but not to become pro, or for monetary reasons, just for the enjoyment of it.

  • Inspiring. :) Good job Luci!

  • god i love her <3

  • i stopped caring about definitions a long time ago, i just KNOW that anything in life that involves self expression is done with movement, singing, acting, pk, fr, sports, anything, so definitions should not matter to those who choose to be free...

  • This was quite good.

Altho, calling herself professional freerunner was so unprofessional.

  • YEAAAA!!!!!! go Luci! your the best!

  • SHE is very emotive ... this is goood .....

  • awesome luci :)

    loved the "crazy calculated risks"

  • definition of Freerunning: WRONG.

U love that sport so much, so why dont tell the truth, that flips and unefficient movements are included.

  • Free Running and Parkour are often misplaced but its still not that well known nationally so getting definitions arent that important. Cuz either way your a Traceur and we all need to group up and show the world a new way of living

  • @niccoPk

lol, i agree, but ive been in plenty of situations where a flip is more efficient, the act of rotaion through landing can slow you down, thus making the impact softer, i do believe ryan doyle exhibited this on nat geo once...

  • Jesus, why is everyone arguing about the "definitions" of the disciplines. It's movement.

  • Loved it! From USA? Awesome, cause that's where I live! God Bless you all, and take care. : )

  • yeah Luci :P

  • nice!!! congrats on getting spotlighted Luci!

  • i dont agree some of the things she said but thats her opinion

  • Great work Luci~ShaneWarren

  • Audiotransscript is funny lol

  • Two minor things to pick at.

Parkour: Is the the art of efficient movement (l'art du displacemente), Free-running: is the evolution (I guess) to make parkour more aesthetically pleasing and add more style and personality to it.

Free-running is not underground, i personally think something becomes mainstream when you start being able to get a well paid job from it xDD

  • @Squiddey Freerunning is the translation that Foucan came up with when they made Jump London, so from the start it's the same thing. She's been doing it for a while so I guess she stays with the old one.

  • At the time of Jump London yes they were the same, however becuase of the evolution the two have become more defined becuase Foucan also believed that there was no reason not to add gymnastic movements while David chose to keep 'his' movements efficient.

This is what I understand to be the original schism that defined the two as separate practices.

Though I still believe that its not the name, its the practice that makes the real difference.

  • @Squiddey But since even David Belle throws in some flips I guess that he has become more of a freerunner then ;)

  • Nothing ever stays the same, if it did the world would stagnate.

Besides without variety you'd never know what you like xDD

  • @Squiddey

freerunning, the way u've explained, is underground, the mainstream population believes pk & fr are the same

  • No free-running has become mainstream as the media have helped the practice of free-running become known throughout the world.

However the media did not take the initiative to explain the difference in the practices.

Mis-interpretation doesn't make it underground, just makes the population more confused than they already are xDD

  • @Squiddey

which is what i said, the meaning is misunderstood, so its underground, it doesnt make it good or bad, it just changes the views.

  • Understanding something doesn't make it mainstream, media coverage and populas knowledge does.

Whether it is understood or not while mainstream changes nothing... Like millions of people know what bboying it but 90% of those millions dont understand it.

  • @Squiddey

u misunderstood wat i said but i can c u have ur mind made up, good luck with ur views...

  • Its been brought to my attention that my definition of mainstream was wrong, so I thought I would concede my point on free-running being mainstream.

  • but bboying isn't mainstream, if it was, every bboying competition would be shown on the most popular channels during primetime and at least 1/10 people would be aspiring to be one for about 10 years...like american football...but it's nothing like that, people do think it's cool to watch but that's about it. bboying is not mainstream, basketball, baseball and nfl is mainstream

  • Freerunning, and Parkour is really helpful though. One day its going to be mainstream.

  • If i wanted to keep you programmed as a person to obey what you've been commanded to do, i would try to keep you away from anything free and creative, because it may pollute your mind and you might want to be free and independent, i do NOT want that happening at all. For this reason I believe it wont go mainstream. I hope it will not go mainstream anyway because it WILL become diluted by lazy people. I agree with you though it is pretty useful, but MSG is not and that might as well be mainstream

  • I doubt the government will ever legalise the practice of parkour or free-running and legalisation is the only way that it would become completely mainstream. The mindset and community of the practices are often ascribed to an opposing view than the one the government is trying to control people with.

    Elijah, what is MSG?

  • I fully agree with what you said, that's what i was trying to get across but sarcasm doesn't transfer well in text haha XD

MSG is MonoSodium Glutamate, it is basically poison because nothing good comes from it, except it makes stuff taste sweeter.. If your body is sensitive to it or if you have enough, you could get asthma, mental problems, cancer, epilepsy, autism and a whole load of other crap. This stuff can and will kill you and the government know it but they continue to put it in food.

  • Damn man that might explain why I "Grew into asthma" at age 14... I never did understand that considering your normally born with asthma... This also explains why my doctor had me tested for autism and mental instabilities. xDD

I think I'm going to check my food for that in future.... >_>

  • Yeah, nowadays i've just dropped the sweets and get grapes or berries instead, sometimes the texture of it may be annoying but they taste sweeter than most sweets XD I'ts in most junk foods like soda's, potato chips and things like that so if you're ever getting stuff like that it's better to pay a little more for something that is healthier for you in a long run anyway.

  • dude, i will never touch sweets agian :O Thanks for telling me/us! How can you know this by the way.

  • it's on the internet and is the thing i never used to pay attention to before i became open-minded (thanks to parkour and free running :D) so when i heard about stuff like it, i just done a bit of reasearch only to find out that it's true and government/media are all in on it so they will never let people know about these things...which then lead me to investigate why the governent/media keep secret from us and what other secrets they've been keeping and most of it just sounds crazy. research!!!

  • It was meant to be an example but I guess it failed xDD

But yes I see your point on how free-running isn't fully mainstream, so i guess its more in a transitional place at the moment.

  • The problem I've with that is many people come into pk and fr to learn the fun stuff (flips) without the conditioning and the coordination basis.

In my opinion, parkour because of the efficiency gives the tools to evolve after as a freerunner. A freerunner should be first a good traceur : when you know how to do a simple jump, then after you can begin considering doing a flip. Many try flips while they have not any knowledge about it or their body. We have to educate people.

  • @NoirEsprit I agree man. And to many ppl start pk and fr to be "cool", it pisses me off cause they're just gonna get hurt, and its not about being cool, its about a lifestyle

  • Shes kool ^_^! Kinda wish i could be a stunt man too. btw does anyone know what song starts at about 1:15 when she clips onto the couch? It has a nice and epic feel to it.

  • Luci !! i love u !! =)

  • Parkour-free running- tricking...its all movement...call it whatever you want =)

  • Love to hear what you've achieved luci. Good job and congrats. Keep it up and keep striving for a dream!

    ~Steve

  • I soooo belive in what she says..

Your awesome.. keep up your good work

    Gal.

    :)

    My dream aswell haha

  • sick Lucy! way to represent :)

  • NICE! :)

  • oh man so bad, getting kids into 'freerunning' to aspire to be like a professional man, what a wack idea seriously, tempest you disappoint me

  • agree with you man

  • I thought the same thing, "free running is underground" was possibly the gayest thing I've heard.

  • whats so wacky about it?

  • utter shame

  • but how is it utter shame to do what you love for a living?

  • Its the method, not the means. Growing up aspiring to be like a 'pro freerunner' id rather kids grew up aspiring to be themselves. Competitions are wack, notice how you dont see the best traceurs competing?

  • Comment removed

  • @traceurelements so true

  • @traceurelements That's wrong- Tim Sheif, Victor Lopez, Paul Joseph, Jason Paul, Khoah hyun- These professionals all competed in competitions.

  • @edgeparkour1 And these guys and luci romberg are all my personal friends. I still think that starting parkour to be a professional freerunner is a bad idea full stop.

Furthermore, my original comment is over a year old (just after barclaycard 09). The competition scene has changed since then.

  • @traceurelements lol yes Scott

    -McLovin

  • @tempestfreerunning haha way to pull out a year old comment right there. Im still not so into the idea of comps as the reason to train parkour so you can be all professional, but all I have is love for tempest. <3333333

  • @traceurelements I love you too Scott!! :) lol I mean dude, I agree with you as well... I've never seen and probably will never see Danny compete, and when you posted the that comment the same was true for Phil XP. Hope to see you out here man!

    -Ryan

  • nice :)

  • you are pro because you learn at gym.. all what i do is from the street. DAM

  • Go go cheers lucy!

  • i don't really know y it's so hard for so many people to distinguish between parkour and freerunning... i know names actually doesn't matter but it makes communication so much easier...

still a quite positive message behind the whole thing.

  • amaziong stuff, but me myself... well i like parkour and freerunning just the way they are, as undergrounnd sports... i HATE the idea of it becoming as common as football and pro comercial and capitalist, that is NOT the ethos behind parkour ATALL.

  • i like arctic monkeys in the end lol

  • go get em girl!!

  • A pair of shoes, and some guts.
