its not from the akai that only has simulated tape, normal and looper modes, its from a dd5 probbably or a dd6/7 but id guess a dd5, or its from ed and that could be from a lot of his delays, i didnt think that johnny had a dd5 though i just know it cant be from the headrush.

in retrospect i think blackcircle is right. @tedvickers5 i think ed is just triggering/manipulating a separate loop you can hear in addition to what jonny is playing with what appears to be a line 6 dl-4

It's reverse delay with the effect turned up and the original signal turned down.
