It didn't hurt when he screwed it in or did the injection or anything, but its a bit sore now.
The worst part is that it sticks out and is stabbing my cheek and gums above it, and my tooth keeps biting on it which is really annoying and feels horrible. aarrrh can't wait to get it out already.
i had this procedure done on my upper and lower, but i was asleep when they inserted it. When i woke up i was in pain but after 3 weeks it was alright. I had one removed and it was very discomforting but only because it was already so irritated.
am getting 2 of these after a week xS It wont hurt while he is doing it right ? for sure it wont right ? am just worried .. I mean SCREWS in my mouth !!!!
Well I have placed 3 days ago and the first day it hurt like hell...Now my mouth is still swollen and I have a hard time eating anything else but soft things.
i dont believe in extractions for ortho treatment. the patient is already paying twice as much for lingual braces and about $1000 for each mini-implant, and yet the doctor suggest to pull the premolars... thats ridiculous. dentistry should be about conservation
i just got this done today, one on the right side and one of the left side of my mouth.
it had almost no pain, just a very sharp feeling on the tooth under it.
I am going to try to lay off crunchy stuff, no need to be scared and when they say Novicane is the worst part there not lying haha, novicane is the only thing you could really feel.
although i jumped at the idea of only having to have braces on the bottom teeth i found that these didn't suit my lifestyle as a rugby union player i received many knocks to the mouth and found that they actually can and do become loose....i have now had them removed and full braces put on. though i would have kept them if it wasn't for my love of rugby union
theres pain the following hours (i think i remember it being like when braces first went on only worse on that one tooth) but not really any when they screw it in because of the anesthetics
i got one out yesterday...i completely forgot they were taking it out....no anesthetics or anything...took a screwdriver to it...no pain. although i feel minor discomfort on the bone it was screwed into
It shouldn't. The TADs are screwed into the bone of the gumline, which doesn't have any nerves. The gumline itself will be numbed upon insertion, and as should be known, the gumline will accomodate to any strange changes afterwards, blisters notwithstanding. So where should the pain come from but your mind?
Curious .... I have never removed any mini-screw because of pain, I swear !
I removed all but one of them at the end of the treatment, even if some of them were slightly mobile, but still "in fonction". The one that failed was mobile several months after insertion. I had to replace a new one 2 month after removal. But at any time the situation was painfull
ouchh~~~ it look so hurt~ anyway, how come ur braces able to place at the back of the teeth? will the procedure same as placing it infront ?i mean the screwing things. i never seen it done form my friend who placing infront.
I don't have any other video showing mini-screws placement. It is very often the same procedure.
But I will get new device for video recordings in 6 month, and I hope to make many more videos. The publication of these two videos were king of a "trial" to see if that kind of movies should be interesting to share or not... and it seems to be !
With elastics linking front teeth and mini-screws, the orthodontist can move backward incisors and canines all together, without any anchorage lost on molars and premolars (any frontward displacement) and without extra-oral forces.
this dude just got screwed in the mouth

No pain. Ibuprofen is recommended but very often not taken.
In case of immediate loading, pain could come from teeth because of orthodontic forces.

Now that i awakened form shock, how do these facilitate is treatment ?
P.S. I did read the description, i understand the principle, but i still understand how it will help this patient.
