  • This is a much better ride than the Explorer. Nice truck, very nice.

  • @motortrend Fiat had nothing to do with the Dodge Durango it had more to do with the jeep grand cherokee that what they say

  • Looks like a FBI vehicle… i like it

  • The thing I don't understand is why Dodge keeps comparing this truck to the Ford Explorer. The XLT Explorer is 4 grand cheaper than the base Durango. Really nice SUV though.

  • i like it

  • only thing i hated was the brake and gas was way too close together my size 10 foot was on both pedals

  • ¿Is it possible for dodge to make it lighter?

  • looks like a mini-van from the side/rear

  • I don't mind unibody SUV's like this cause they actually designed it off a rwd architecture that was designed to be an suv instead of taking a camry and giving it a lift kit.

  • I'm glad Fiat and Chrysler/Dodge teamed up.

  • so if i run into one of these with its v6. my 4.7 will lose... that makes me sad... howbout if mines chipped lol

  • its funny how many people say this is shit or curse dodge/chrysler for doing something like this. This is probably the hotest SUV on the road right now with so much dam space and a very well proven hem 5.7L. Dont hate the whole company if it doesnt appeal to you, shut up and go buy a SMART if you think this thing is too big, not fuel efficient or dont like Chrysler/Dodge for a retarded reason. I love german cars and I think that Chrysler is REALLY trying hard.

  • nice!

  • rapes the new explorer

    thumbs up if you agree

  • it's an suv because it's rear wheel drive!!!

  • saw one on the road recently, It's quite slim for an SUV (compared to the wider SUV's of today). It's not a bad vehicle though ;)

  • nice car

  • Comment removed

  • not bad as an all whether road car. but the v8 shouldve gained more power and torque.

  • i just got the rt 2011 , i have an M6 BMW , VIPER , Volvo XC90 v8 ect..., This is an awesome vehicle the build Q is top notch it drives incredible. the features are mind boggling . The price is GREAT COMPARED TO OTHER COOL SUV'S COSTING WAY MORE and dated. If you are in the market, i think you will not be disappointed ether will your passengers. I tryed the old one it was terrible at best. GO USA A+

  • It puts me in the mind of a mini van for some reason.

  • dam this thing looks mean

  • My 2001 Durango is still kicking ass. Thumbs up.

  • Dodge did a great job with the styling on this rig. Looks like a Charger, Ram and Grand Cherokee had a menage trois. 100% better looking than the truck it replaced!

  • dude, fiat didn't have anything to do with this vehicle. it was already under works and being engineered before fiat bought part of chrysler.

  • Why do I care what the lateral acceleration is for this SUV?

Why don't you tell me how accommodating it is for seven passengers? or the quality of the materials?

  • doesn't look that great. the back looks like a minivan. rather buy the jeep grand cherokee

  • i like how they test it as a sports car. give it a bloody mountain for god's sake. it's an offroader ( or maybe just a wannabe) but anyway. u can't give a stupid big ugly thing that should go off road only 0-60 tests and skid pads. this review is useless!

  • looks like the new cherokees or the cherokees look like the durangos.

  • i don't see many on the road though.

  • 2011 Dodge Durango is just amazing! Maybe you could do some test drive on the R/T version

  • Are they aware that gas is approaching $5gal?

  • @MrUltraworld people who make good money dont give a fuck about that

  • @Bongwater123 I make really good money & I give a fuck about that.

  • @MrUltraworld well you dont make enough to not have to worry about gas prices

  • that thing looks like a honda crv. they ruined the durango

  • Too little too late...does Dodge or should I say American auto makers ever learn? Gas is going north of 5bucks a gallon and they're still building these massive vehicles. Who would be stupid enough to get one of these at times like this??

  • @iceman5815 me :]

  • I want performance and good gas mileage combined with dead muslims

  • @rufusbaron 2011 v6 mustang

  • no gas mileage as usual...

  • Got the Durango Express for 31,000. Love it! We needed the extra space for my growing family. By the way the 3rd row can fit 2 adult man in it with room to spare!

  • @Jarred55555666

I can tell by your grammar and lack of automotive intelligence that you are either retarded, very slow, or a kid. Either way, you shouldn't be driving.......say the same to the 8 retards who gave you a thumbs up.

    *faceplam*

  • @robocock21 thank you

  • @robocock21 faceplam!

  • @renix

Typo, faggot.....sue me, and it's remix not renix(even if it's an inside thing, it sounds gay)

    *facepalm* Come at me bro

  • @robocock21 Wow, testosterone much? I agreed with your post, but your botched the end. No need to roid rage. If you're going to act 12 years old and call people gay I'd like to point out you should be careful of that with a username like robocock21.

  • @renix

It's a Durango vid my testosterone was out of control , sorry. And I only got upset because the little bastard had the odacity to send me a Private message that was worse than his post. Sorry renix, no hard feelings.

  • Honestly, I love America. I served in int US Marine Corps for 5 years. I will say, however, that the decision to start modeling our vehicles on the more rigorous engineering standards of the European vehicles is a step in the right direction for this copmpany. I love my 2004 Ram, But it could have been made better out of the factory. That's the problem. American autocompanies have narcissisticly sticking to outdated designs in the engine and tranny. That's what killed 'em. A new day, I say

  • @gamelpj Sir thank you for your service!!! and if you like guns and shooting please visit my page and lets stand together to keep the 2nd amendment alive and well!!! Mr5point56

  • I see an awesome looking front end with a bmw looking rear.

That just looks weird to me.

I'm Deff sticking with my 99 rango.

    Shes a beaut sportin her 6.3 L v8 400 hp. :D

    fun fun.

  • I cant wait till they get the new ZF 8 speed in gosh just get it in. Probably see 0-60 improve on hemi and Fuel Eccon too!

  • Oh -- the rumor SRT-8 'Rango? Mmmmm...

  • @08IS350 I hope not

  • It looks nice - The new Grand Cherokee's are flying off the Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep lot in my area. It may do well but like he said. "We'll see..."

  • Grand Cherokee and a Grand Caravan had a child, it was this. with balls

  • a dodge charger is cool and hot

  • a dodge charger is cool

  • well someones been working out. hell yeah durango.

  • I love the new frontend

  • who else thinks the dakotas would like 100 times better with a front end like that, instead of what they have now?

  • @TopOfTheLine3 if a dakota would have a front like that would be the same as the dodge ram but smaller

  • @NoLgU3N yea thats how it should be, i think, the ram and the dakotas and durango front end always did look the same...

  • ohh wow this guy can read a brochure!!

  • "handicapped by a five speed auto".....There is nothing wrong w/ the 5spd auto's. They are reliable and take a reasonable amount of abuse and LOVE it. The only reason they want more gears is to conserve fuel by allowing more shifts frequently to reduce the overall engine speed under normal operation. However, if I had one of those 8spd tranny's, I would still run the engine completely through every gear to nearly redline thereby bypassing their attempt to save fuel.

  • Looks like a really big Journey, not a bad thing by any means

  • Test drove one today, not bad

The back window is so small

    Visibility could be better

Very soft ride, kind of a disconnected feel

Only available in AWD no locking up the 4x4

    36k for a base v6 seems a bit much

  • I like the first gen better.

  • @blaknite1 haha i thot that 1 was ugly

  • 0:43 it looks like a chinese beemer

  • O_O!!!! I would have a really hard time deciding between this, a grand cherokee, and the new charger :) Chrysler is really really steppin their stuff up

  • The transmission honestly isn't really that big of a problem. Would a 8 speed be better? Of course, but the 5 speed doesn't make this vehicle drive like shit.

  • first 1 speed then 2 speed then 3,4,5,6,7,8 when will it STOP !! if there is a problem with the tranny dont fix it just add another gear ha ha ha.

  • why would you mention the 5 speed gearbox now? everyone's just gonna wanna wait for the 8-speed. You're killing Dodge's come back tour, lol

  • @daizmiester That's Chrysler's fault for using a criticized outdated transmission unit.

  • @daizmiester Chrysler should've just waited til, the new tranny was developed...THEN, bring out the Durango and, Cherokee!

  • it's a nice car but if it had a 4 cilinder 2l engine i would have bought it

  • interior is still kinda outdated personally rather drive the new explorer

  • In the real world, I often go from 0-60 in less than 9 seconds with the groceries in the car. I turn corners in a heart stopping .23 g's.. gotta throw th epassengers around you know..!! When I see that Cop at the side of the ride with his radar gun, that stopping time of 60-0 in 125feet (@3:02) is a life saver. So, you see that the test numbers here do have applications "iN THE REAL WORLD!!"

  • 5 speed? Gm and fords are 6 speed - they should roll this out with 8 speed to compete.

  • Hey I Don't know why they keep ragging on the Transmission. I have Test Driven the the New Durango V6 and I must say I was very impressed. It had alot of go and it was very nice for the the baseline model. They are Stepping up their Game in the new Models. I just want one. The New Challenger SRT8 393(Drool Drool) Thank You Mopar.

  • 8 Gears eh?

  • @65crewcabpw no, Fiat owns Chrysler (or it might be the other way around) and Chrysler owns Dodge, so yes Fiat is involved

  • Its a Jeep with a dodge badge.

  • All I can say is, I hope someone makes some after market tail lights for this so I can buy one. :P

  • @swttskills516 Same manufacture, same platform, same factory.... you do that math

  • I'm I the only one who sees a resemblance to the Toyota Sequoia?

  • @ECDT1089 You are the only one

  • I love seeing the big orange in the background, it makes me feel local.

  • It looks so much like the Gmc Acadia, no joke!

  • @awada85 No, I would say it looks like a streamlined version of the first generation Durango

  • @BDakota95 Honestly in my opinion it looks like the Acadia.

  • @awada85 I don't see it. The only thing I could say looks similar to me is it's size and it's "clean" looking exterior. Not over styled ya know?

  • @BDakota95 Ya i know what you mean, its a really nice truck, honestly... By the way look up the 2012 Charger SRT8, its crazy!

  • very RETRO looking suv

  • Hey, MOTORTREND... IT"S ALL DODGE. There's no Fiat in it!

  • I'm getting me on ass soon as they are available in my area!

  • Sexy ass damn car =/

  • Nice.... like a metal ship sailing through asphalt... good job Dodge.

  • Has an easy on the eyes look about it. Much better then the one it replaced. Just to bad it doesn't have the 8 speed auto trans yet. Or at lest the T-6060 6 speed stick shift like the Challenger has. I would prefer the latter one any day...looks like a winner to me !

  • i saw one in real life...so shiny...hurts my eyes...danger on the road.

  • I would let myself be seen in this. 1st gen I like too, but the last couple have been butt ugly. This looks really well put together. Props to Chrysler-

  • Comment removed

  • Wait till the 8 speed automatic is available, den Im so there, bout time they re-designed the Dodge Durango, hemi powered plz, save the v-6 for grannie.

  • i wish dealerships in aus sold these cars, they are so hot!

  • these things look badass, i saw 3 at a gas station near the local thelen chrysler dealership. very nice suv

  • god, the big three are really making good cars now. i dont like suvs or large vehicles in general, but man it looks good and people might actually want to buy it. Same with ford and gm too.

  • If I saw this thing from the side, I would assume this was a Toyota Sequoia, since the side views look scarily similar. But once I see the front or back sides, I say, hey, this isn't a Sequoia, it's a Dodge! And what a good looking Dodge! It's based off the new Grand Cherokee, so you know it'll be good. This seems like finally worthy competition for the Chevy Suburban. I wouldn't be surprised it if outsells it, but that may just be something to dream about. Definitely better than Ford

  • you are going to make a totally new car, make sure to make it from inside to outside, not the other way around....The car looks great, but using an old gearbox or old engine in a "new model" is a Big NO NO and a turn down for the customers. Now they want to use an ultra complex 8 gear tranny? Is that a mule or what? What they have to do is to install a balanced peformance (fuel efficient and power oriented) 6 gear tranny with manual shift option. Fiat knows it, but they dont apply it...

  • Comment removed

  • From the sides, this thing is pure Toyota Sequoia

  • @97I30T and from the rear end it looks like a Toyota Fortuner, Google it...that model of Toyota is not sold in US.

But I believe the Durango looks good...outside and inside.

  • @wtrdogg20 Yes it does. It's certainly a huge improvement over the outgoing model. I think Dodge is going in a good direction with its new products. They still have work to do though in my opinion but it's a great start.

  • That looks sweet and a huge improvement over the old Durango. Fiat is doing a great job getting Chrysler back on track.

  • @wildbilltexas I'll agree with that, at least there paying forcus on the interior with putting an extra $107 dollars of extra quality

  • Looks Nice

  • wow this is the first durango they made that actually looks good. And who cares about offroading why would you wanna mess up a nice car buy going off road?

  • @nsulademon because thats why you buy 4wd

  • @DuallyDieselFord I guess i just dont believe getting mud on my new vehicle

  • @nsulademon mud and sand are fine but nothing that would ding it up or abuse it. I wouldn't take a new car into something I can't wash off

  • way better than the 2nd Generation mini van like exterior every soccer mom and Meskin loves.

  • @chimichanga31 So ridiculously true.

  • love that design espically the front end! looks so mean. id like to tow my boat wit this beast

  • The Design is sick so is the new Charger.

  • gotta love the new body - last one was UGLY

  • what about it's ability to go OFF road?? SUV owners don't really care about these stats, we want to know about its performance on the mountains, hills, mud, and snow!

  • @jeepgayguy i doubt the soccer moms that drive 90% of these care about its off roading

  • @jeepgayguy its gonna suck offroad, the approach angle i believe is under 20. Get the new 2011 jeep grand cherokee if you wanna go offroading

  • @drippinblood28 i have an '02 liberty and i just love it!! would love a new grand cherokee but it's a bit pricey.

  • @jeepgayguy yea the new jeep grand cherokee are the nicest jeep they ever made

  • why would anyone want a supercharged suv lmao? its got enough power to tow ur house...if u plan on racing it, you are an idiot.

  • I don't understand why everyone bitches that it's using an old 5 speed auto. Just because it's 2011 doesn't mean every car needs a complex transmission with 8 or 9 damn gears. And whey something goes wrong, it's going to be expensive as hell to fix.

  • Give me this car with an 8 speed and a 410 HEMI (Or a supercharged 6.1 liter) and I'd be happy. Also, those pizza cutter rims need to go, and Im sure, it being a Dodge, the whole braking system needs to be replaced. Other than that, I'd buy this.

  • ehh its just a rebadged jeep grand cherokee

  • Finally a beautiful Durango!!!

  • @destruk88 beautiful again*

The first gens werent all that bad lookin. Still miss my Black 98 with chrome bumper and tinted windows.

  • I SEE ANOTHER CAR THAT IS GONNA BE IN SOO MANY MUSIC VIDEOS!! THIS CAR IS DOPPPE!!

  • @joey187 it's free advertising

  • id much rather have the new explorer or an used Q7

  • @sportfuryman the rear is practically a Jeep Grand Cherokee

  • Our Envoy Denali can keep up with the Hemi, and probably beat it. But, this is a beautiful car nontheless.

  • Nice! But I wanna see an SRT-8 with the new 392 HEMI. That would be SWEET!

  • @rockey90 yea i do too! i have always loved the Durangos with the SRT8, but im confused... is the new Charger not getting the 6.4? i only see R/T modles with the 5.7

  • @rockey90 Be nice for the Ram.

  • @mojame100 Yeah that would be cool too. We have an 05 Ram with the 5.7 HEMI and I really don't like the feel of it. You have to push the pedal way down to get it to move. It's very unresponsive. I love the way my 4.7 magnum v8 feels in my 02 Durango. It goes with just the slightest touch of the gas pedal and is so much more fun to drive. I've haven't driven the newer rams with the 5.7 so I don't know what they are like but the 392 would be awesome regardless!

  • @rockey90

I agree with that, not only are the ratios for the 545 REF to tall for towing duty but also the engine itself does not have the type of LOW end torque(4500 RPM)that is needed for a pick-up or a truck based SUV like your Durango.

  • @rockey90 Why not the 425 Hemi for the SRT-8?

  • @goredeathrot That would be awesome! I just want to see them come out with an SRT-8 Durango! I think it would sell like hotcakes.

  • @rockey90 I agree! I just think the 6.1 Hemi follows suit with the other SRT-8 lineups (excluding Viper)

  • @goredeathrot you mean 426 hemi?

  • @rockey90 That's the first thing that popped in my head

  • It deserves more power

  • sickkkkk

  • from front to back its like bad ass truck then awh gay suv rear.

  • I'm not sure I love the looks. But it is a LOT better than one it replaces. And I know that I am not going to get a lot of love for this comment.

  • Dodge married an Italian supermodel.

  • this looks great. makes you wonder how they ever designed that ugly turd that was its predecessor.

  • nice looking, especially in black

  • Great looks and the new 6 is supposed to be really nice.

That 5.7 is wicked though, you gotta go for that!

  • i like the new challenger grill but the body kinda looks like a 2004 ford explorer. The rear kinda looks like an bmw x5

  • Love it! The previous generation looked swollen....bulging in random places and looking like a pug....awful design.

  • i really dont like it, id much prefer my 05 limited r/t hemi or my old explorer, this looks way to much like a soccer mom mini van,

  • Has more of that tough ballsy look and similar character lines of the first generation Durango, which was far better looking than the outgoing Durango.

  • Dodge did the same thing here as they did with the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro. This is just a "Dodge" look and feel of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

  • @trippiano That should be a good thing! Nothing wrong with a Cherokee at a Dodge price!

  • @Fun4Video2 The Durango is actually bigger than the Cherokee so thats a even bigger plus!

  • Explorer is better...

  • look like X5
