simon baxter achieved the greatest speed ever recorded on a manx norton on the beach at filey bay 2003.useing a standard machine fitted with a kawasaki z1000 engine,converted to run on methanol and nitrous oxide.and a new rob north titanium frame,he managed a credible 176.7 before he hit a crab shell and died instantly in a fireball,l still cry when l think of the crash.
