@galeng that flat call preflop is the only thing that disguises his hand a little bit. If he reraises the whole table knows its AA or KK... maybe QQ. Flat calling opens up his range as far as 1010, which is why I actually think Phil is struggling with it after he raises on the flop. Had the flop come differently, he may have gotten more action than he would have otherwise later in the hand. Maybe a preflop raise chases Phil away here but I think this hand just comes down to him getting unlucky

The percentages/equities do not change. If Hellmuth was 7 to 1 he is 7 to 1 no matter if they run it once or 10 times. For the loose cannon it does not make a difference either. If they run through the whole deck then Phil win about 7 times more hands than the loose cannon (if the ratio really was 7 to 1, I didnt pay attention to it). How can such a WRONG statement like skateDT be thumbed up 27 times? The more times they run it the less variance. It does not favor anyone.

@skateDT Sorry but you`re wrong. The more often you deal it, the better the odds for the dog, especially when you are that far behind with 2 outs (not counting the runner runners).
Its true that it is harder for him to win at least half the pot the more often they deal it, but its also more likely for him to win at least one and therefor not go broke.
Hellmuth was clearly giving him an advantage because he didnt want to come off as a dick after everyone else said he was slowrolling.

@skateDT Uhm. You are wrong. Every run is for 1/4th of the total pot( ~$50k).
What he is doing is essentially spreading his risks. More runs = it is more likely he wins most of the total pot, but less likely to win the whole pot(~$200k).
So he isn't being nice or mean, the other guy could just as well have said no.

@skateDT Phil gave the guy 4 opp to hit his miracle and take a portion of the pot....Obviously once the guy won 2 of them it was in Phil's advantage to run another one. Odds are way against the guy to even win one...Phil did him a favor by running it 4 times to give the guy a chance to hit his miracle

The percentages/equities do not change. If Hellmuth was 7 to 1 he is 7 to 1 no matter if they run it once or 10 times. For the loose cannon it does not make a difference either. If they run through the whole deck then Phil win about 7 times more hands than the loose cannon (if the ratio really was 7 to 1, I didnt pay attention to it). How can such a WRONG statement like skateDT be thumbed up 27 times? The more times they run it the less variance. It does not favor anyone.

he ran it four times causee he was giving the guy a fighting chance. it doesnt chance anything because everytime they re dealt the cards the percentages went back to 91-9. it's called variance Hellmuth's chances don't change at all and any other time he wins all four. now was that slowroll? any other player other then Hellmuth I would say yes but hellmuth is 1-not that type of player and 2- he is way to careful and the thought the guy tt's was in his mind.

@skateDT Sorry but you`re wrong. The more often you deal it, the better the odds for the dog, especially when you are that far behind with 2 outs (not counting the runner runners).
Its true that it is harder for him to win at least half the pot the more often they deal it, but its also more likely for him to win at least one and therefor not go broke.
Hellmuth was clearly giving him an advantage because he didnt want to come off as a dick after everyone else said he was slowrolling.

@skateDT Uhm. You are wrong. Every run is for 1/4th of the total pot( ~$50k).
What he is doing is essentially spreading his risks. More runs = it is more likely he wins most of the total pot, but less likely to win the whole pot(~$200k).
So he isn't being nice or mean, the other guy could just as well have said no.

A slowroll is taking your time when you are last to act when you know you can't lose with the nuts. Hellmuth hadn't got the nuts on that flop but was miles ahead of any hand other then 10's or 10-9, plus the guy still had to act. This was classic hollywooding by Hellmuth. @JasonH42000 - You're an idiot. The #1 thing to realize is that television Poker is filtered. It is not rigged but they certainly don't show the hundreds of hands that ended quickly on the flop or preflop.
As for Stars, I'm sorry you lost a lot of money but maybe if you read a book or changed your game you will start making more money. I did and I am up $37K on Stars in the last 2 years.
