Scheckter is ALWAYS fast at Indy....he is just tough on his equipment. He was flying at the '08 Indy 500 (in 3rd place late in the race), but had mechanical failure.
Still always a threat to win...he just needs a damn ride!

Wow. That happened right in front of me. That was I became a Tomas Schecter fan. I think he would have won the race this past week if not for the broken shaft. HE DESERVES A HIGH QUALITY FULL TIME RIDE!
I think he just wrecked too many cars, although in recent years he's crashed alot less. He's an incredible talent. Isn't this the year panther had the worst luck ever and they had like 10 DNFs.
I think it was more a case of right place at the right time rather than pure skill - they all had to lift and a gap opened so he was able to just drive right by them..doesnt mean he's mario andretti or something.
INSANE. I can't believe I missed that on TV that year! From the looks of it, 4 wide down the backstretch, then 3 wide IN Turn 3! Although it looks like it almost didn't pay off, he had to really power down since he was in the marbles on the outside and really had to keep it off the wall. And then Takagi's car looked like it too was starting to shoot to the outside coming out of 3. Not done right and this would've been disatrous. But executed correctly, beautiful! Great vids, Kaaveh!

Don't know why he isn't full-time this year, but if someone gets injured (or fired), I wouldn't be surprised if Scheckter got the call.

The move was a bit of luck (catching the slipstream just right), but, YES, it still required large attachments to pull it off.
The latest rumour is that he may continue with D&R; hopefully he relpaces Milkmaid the Moving Chicane!

in 2007 he raced in irl with "Vision team", probably in 2008 he will move in "Andretti Green Racing" team
