Thank you Sir for your service, I just hope our young will reaolize the sucrafice you and all the brave men made in this war for our feedom. I was in the US Airforce for 8 years and because of brave men like yourself , I was not in a war. Once again Sir, Thank You!!
It's a shame about the loss of Liberty Belle!! I would like to thank all of America's Veterans! The American people owe so much to the veterans who gave and continue to give us the freedom we all enjoy today. Thank you all for all you have done. I want to thank those of the greatest generation who served and fought in WW2. As Churchill said, 'Never have so many owed so much to so few!'
Thank you sir, for my freedom today, you men are the true heroes, not this Kobe Bryant or Tom Brady noway.. God bless you and your family I say, Liberty we stand and I'm proud to be American, Let freedom ring GOD BLESS THE USA!!
Liberty Bell emrgency landed, then burned, why so much ? May be too late now but my comment to the vidsi...
Think About It. and Pass It Along
It would be a great thing if all parties could come together and with outside support build a clear dome over this site leave it undisturbed except for hazards.. and it be declared a monument for, or to The United States of America and all that an image like this would have meaning too.
lady belle just crashed in chicago June 13, 2011.....its completly destroyed all survived but the fire killed it..look up lady belle crash its on youtube
@SuperTomcat622 sorry i knew from the start it was liberty belle but if you look up "lady be good" i had just watched a documentary on it so i got the two comfused. sorry ":/
I don't think US veterans claimed to be heroes, most I ever heard talk about it say they only did their duty. I know this for sure: they were victorious over Germany. Twice.
and why is he a hero now? cause he didnt got shot? isnt it unmanly? maybe he was crying all the night and the germans felt pitty for him. In america is everyone a hero, who is able to count till Three. i heared about, they are endangered.
Blvdes-Arschloch
@spillerxxxxx - your freedom to enjoy being a asshole is thanks to these guys. The fact that idiots like you are free to comment on YouTube is a tribute to this man's contribution. Have a good day.
Great interview. We have a lot of heroes out there disguised as regular looking, older men!. God Bless them all. My dad was also a waistgunner on B17's in Europe. When I read the comment of the man & son who took a flight in a B17 & said they'd never forget it, I laughed - my dad is nearly 88 yrs old & he'd tell you he'll never forget it either! He flew 51 missions & received fire from the ground, the sky, or both on all missions but one. Being shot at will stick in your memory!
no..after the war is has quickly been replaced by the b-29..but the jewish people used it after the war to fight agains israel..and some of them were used for test programs or fire extinguishers..today they are just for show..there were about 13000 of them been made
it's a strange world... i am from germany, my grandfather was recruted in 1944 at the age of 18, and was ordered to the flak (antiaircraftguns on the ground) but I'm really thankful, that the Allies managed to defeat germany. this was only possible with the help of heros, like the veteran in the video.
My wife and I have all the respect for you in the world and what an honor it is to tell you this. We thank you all who were the crew in the b17's... thank you
He's still strong and still walks on his two feet , unaided
