i would think you could still get the footage off that SD card...wouldn't be a total loss if you had video of the crash from the camera's perspective.
When the Go-Pro losses power it does not have time to save the file. the file was there...but you can not play it. there was a long discussion over at RC Groups about it, also at the Go-Pro web site.
Oh, WOW! Was that the EPO version? I've never seen one destroyed like that. I've had one for about 3 months now and been struggling to find a motor setup that I like. I'm really going for maximum duration over speed. Any flight times or motor data you could give would be helpful.
I was surprised to see the GoPro case break like that. GPS doesn´t account for the vertical vector of the speed so it might have been even greater than 65mph.
Cell phones are really bad for RC Rx, specially when they are in use (sending data or receiving a call). I made some ground tests with the GSM/GPS tracker and found that the Rx would get into failsafe while receiving call (request position) if positioned less than 25cm away from each other.
Grab the foam glue be back up in no time...! I've strapped a phone on before don't think I'll be doing that again..!
