I was just doing some research on what the camera looks like, and it looks realy great... But an hour and a half of battery life?? Does it come with an extra battery??

mine broke i would't replace it with another one its fine for a beginner but it is not hd and it does not have many external controls or inputs so if you want to to more professional stuff it will be hard. And now its discountinued

i have this camera and its very good and use it for my videos on youtube. i disagree with skatinkrux when he says quality is bad when uploading using that camera, as i use it in my videos and they have good quality, they are on my page as favourites (my other channel got hacked). the only problem is that the sd slot is too small to fit my sd card

I have this camera and I use it for skating. It's pretty nice and really easy to use. I'd say get a handle like a camcaddy or something so it isn't so shakey. And also when you upload videos to like youtube with it, the quality gets worse.. still not bad though.

I had this camera for 2 years. Produces very soft videos and then just died on me a few days ago. When you turn it on it won't start and shuts off. I think the hard drive failed. BEWARE when buying especially a hard drive camera.

I have this video camera and while it is made nice and has decent basic features, I feel that the quality of the video is really bad. I only paid $50 for the thing new in the box on a closeout, so I can't complain, but I think I can get better quality from my $25 webcam.

Sony's web site has them available for download, but you will need the original disc that came with the camera in order to use it. On the plus side, I just did a fresh Win7 install and did not need any drivers. I plugged the camera in and was able to view the contents of the camera as another hard drive on my system, which is perfect for me.

FinnsterW- No, this is a very basic entry level camera.  You can buy lenses on ebay and such that are fish eye, wide angle, UV, etc.

owngunz - Any standard consumer tripod will work. Tripods will work for film cameras, digital cameras as well as video cameras, so you only need one.

Great camcorder but there are other cons. It uses Memory Stick Pro Duo not SD card. Which can only be used in other sony products. There is no view finder to save battery record time but most others dont. Short battery life because u must use lcd screen. Longer batteries will cost you an arm, a leg, two ribs, and a kidney=$50 to $120. No light, only night shot which will give videos a funny tent. Sony uses special cable connection, so dont lose cables cuz u will probably have to order them it.

@ButteryassMondays123 it has some great framerates. if i can see airsoft BB's flying from about 90 FT, then im pretty sure you can shoot some sk8 vids.

this is a great cam, they just need to improve the nightshot

There is no external mic jack. I m also using this one SR45. Its good but in the Sony HDD all series handycam has no jack for external mic.

Just bought one today...luckily enough. Sony won't produce the model anymore. The newer models WILL NOT have nightshot...what a shame. Overall i give it 3 out of 5 stars. Decent enough for the price rance.

I just got the camera today, I saw a list of themes, when not in easy mode, the button in the bottom right corner of the screen takes you to shooting options and the themes are in there somewhere. I have yet to really test the camcorder.

Hey guys. I was the high bidder on a SONY DCR-SR46 on EBAY and I got it yesterday. This has 40GB instead of 30GB and it came with case and extra battery. I think that's the only difference. It was described as new in open box. Kinda made me wonder about it, but I took a chance. Shipping and all, I paid $294.00. Not a flaw or even a finger print and works great. I guess I got lucky.
