Diana's father isn't the evil one.. It's Cassie's father, Black John.. I guess they redesigned the whole story.. there's no Heather or the Boat Tragedy. They suppose to be 12 in the circle.. Nick suppose to be mysterious and apathetic. Cassie's mother is sickly, but alive throughout the series. and where the hell is the crystal skull?? I'm so disappointed.. :-(

Even though they kinda mess up the story line but I think it was pretty great. I luv lj work but cw also has something original to put into it. If it follow the story line exactly, this show is gonna be pretty short. I am exited to see how the show gonna work out. Don't be haters just coz it different from the books. I'm sure lj love it!

I think the reason there isn't 12 characters is because character development is harder when you have so many to keep track of, not excusing it but thats probably the reason

And... L.J. Smith approved this? This isn't her story at all. I let it slide for The Vampire Diaries because I was happy that it would bring new readers to the books I love, but this is ridiculous. Where is the other half of the coven? Cassie's mother dies?! The books started with Cassie and her mom moving to her mom's home town, New Salem, to take care of her ailing grandmother. Not her mother's murder. I find this not only disrespecting to the story, but disrespecting to the craft. WTF?!

@SWEETRHYSIE10 Please, PLEASE read the books! There are parts that cannot be told without the other half that are detrimental to Cassie's development as a character in the story and as a person within herself. The story is compelling and with ALL 12 coven members, there will definitely be someone you can see yourself in, or in their qualities. Seriously, this author got me through high school. Reading this trilogy is like watching a movie to me, each and every time. That show is a travesty.

@mooniekate CW have fucked all over L.J's work. They didn't have to as the way the original story is would have also worked out and created the necessary mystery and action needed for a show to survive.

@17zainy Exactly! I'm glad someone else sees this the same way. Not to mention they could have used the other characters to flesh out the show like True Blood did. It would have been hard to put Sookie in every scene since it's in her point of view or things she read in other people's minds for most of it. The introductions could have been the whole first season as it did not all happen in a 50 minute time slot for crap sakes.

I don't understand how this will work without Sean. He's kind of important. The other characters they don't have are okay not to have, i guess. But Sean is a pretty important character! I wonder how they'll make that work, if they follow the books.
