@MrDagnabit If you're looking for a language similar to Sindarin, check out Icelandic. That was Tolkien's main inspiration for the Sindarin dialect. However, Quenya is based more off of old Norse. But, because Estonian is so similar to Finnish, and the Nordic languages all influenced each other, Estonian sounds like Sindarin.

@Amberstrike2 Finnish and Estonian are nothing like the other Nordic languages, as they are Finno-Ugric, not Germanic as the others. Finnish might have a few loanwords from Swedish, but that's it. Tolkien's Quenya was initially influenced by Finnish, not Old Norse. Old Norse would be very similar to Icelandic.

Nah wait a second you're mixing things up a bit... Quenya's main inspiration was Finnish (just listen to what Saruman says from the top of Orthanc), and Welsh in case of Sindarin, not sure about the other dialects. Whatever, all of these languages are heavenly, Sindarin eventually made me start learning Welsh :)

And you are right about the fact, that pretty considerable amount of estonian people can't ... write the language correctly, when it comes to style and words order. Also, the more difficult vocabulary isn't used that much.
