@666slink Nope. You might be thinking of Chris Slade. Phillips played with The Who on a few tours, and has gigged extensively with Jack Bruce. I first heard him on Brian Eno's 801 Live record, and he has been a fav ever since.
@glynnt54 Yep- a band project that Manzanera put together and was released under the "801" name but issued under Phil's name ever after.. had a premature "senior moment" when I mentioned Eno, since he sings on it.

Volodjah is right. This is not a jam, it is "Fred" by Allan Holdsworth.

When was this recorded. Looks recent. Nice jam.
Looks like Jeff was learning the song as it went on, and of course, nailed it.

Didn't Simon Phillips used to drum for AC/DC in the 80s?

@DarkeningSkies1 I believe he's thinking of Simon Wright because they have a very similar kind of hair and Wright played in the 80s for ACDC...

@Bomenpulp Yep! That would make perfect sense.

@DarkeningSkies1 ....... you mean Phil Manzanera's 801 Live, right? Nice touch on an old Holdsworth tune though.....
