Any comments on gameplay should be directed to the video response posted, there I actually do play it on the dance mat with hand markers and nearly AAA it. It's a much better run than this since anyone could do that on a game controller.
Key word there, is 10 and up. If you think this is inappropriate I don't know what you'd think about Sean Paul's Get Busy with it's video on Extreme 2.
I play with a controller on these videos just to show the chart, it's not for foot scores. I'd have too much camera trouble recording while playing on feet, though I can AA the song and have FC it on foot. Haven't tried it with hands yet though it does seem to work better here than on the first one.
Yeah, I've been using Hand Markers a lot more these days and I like it. I just got my first AAA last night and then I got 4 more AAA's right after that! lol.
And yes Hand Markers are WAY better this time around. There's more innovation than last time.
I actually like the hand markers on this game with the exception of one GLARING flaw. They're tied to the AAA's on this game. They've made it so that on most songs AAA's are achieved under two conditions, all perfect/marvelous steps/hands, AND you must get past the cutoff score. It pissed me off perfect FC'ing Nite Runner with hands on only to STILL be awarded a AA because I didn't get enough points from the hand combos despite hitting them ALL perfect.
I remember a while back hearing that the hand marker setup they have now with the hand combo meter was supposed to have been incorporated into the first game but they ran out of time. A real shame too, because that's largely what makes DDR Hottest Party 2 as fun as it is. I still like the first one, but it does feel quite bland to play now in comparison because of it.

This is good. Konami should have some music videos for some more songs.

Congrats but I'm not too impressed. The AAA would be impressive if you actually used the pad but good job nonetheless.
