First chinese guild to kill Illidan did it in T3. First guild to kill illidan did it in even less. You could quite easily run into BT with Kara gear. Most guilds just don't have the skill to pull it off, so they use gear as a crutch.

T3? illidan would one-shot the tank lol. gear plays an important role in end-game boss fights tbh, T4 would maybe be a possibility, tough as hell tho

Actually mplsgerb is correct, although they obviously didn't kill Illidan in full T3.

WoW was released in China 6 months after all of us got it, and they managed to kill Illidan within ~2 months. Clearing so fast actually left most members still wearing some pieces of T3, as evident in their killshot.
