Most of those protein powders are full of SOY, the last thing any man wants, but especially one trying to gain muscle. Soy is full of phytoestrogens called isoflavones and they are BAD for your testosterone. Most processed foods are also full of soy.

@mainohit Yeah I mean it really depends on what you want more. Do you want to play soccer more, or do you want to be muscular? I don't know many muscular soccer players. So yes you're absolutely right, soccer will burn crazy calories and not help at all if you're trying to gain weight.

@Spulpacz No, supplements won't make a difference. If you aren't gaining there is something fundamentally flawed with your current approach. You might just need to increase your calories. But there are literally hundreds of other reasons you could stop gaining weight. Check out my website if you want to get some detailed answers.
@hecatomb You'll gain all fat. It will also raise your estrogen levels and lower your testosterone levels. Not a good combo. I know drinking is a "manly" thing to do and it's a lot of fun but it actually turns you into a big pussy if you do it too much.
@HornyPedestrianXD Yes but it will only help you if you are following a weight gain diet and you've got the right weight training routine. Do you have those things in place yet?
@lvrcmps1027 Yeah if you feel like you need extra calories there's nothing wrong with that. The more active you are the more calories you'll need. So if you're very active during the day you may need more than most people. Just track your results and see how much muscle/fat you gain each week and you'll know if you're eating too much or not enough.

@lvrcmps1027 Hey man good to hear - So you've begun using the Weight Gain Blueprint system? Yes eating 6 meals takes some getting used to... But your stomach will actually start expanding within a few weeks to accommodate for the larger amount of food you'll be eating. So yes it's cool to start off with 5 meals... Or even 6 smaller meals. But eventually you want to make sure you're getting enough calories in your body each day so I would add more food each week until you reach that goal.
@wabbitti Not exactly. You've got protein there but you still need carbs and fat in order to make it a complete meal that will help you gain weight. Glad my advice has helped you so far and let me know how your progress comes along.

But some quick tips: Start lifting weights 3x a week using compound exercises like deadlifts, bench press, pull ups, squats, etc. Start eating 20 times your bodyweight in calories each day. @entiscool That's great you understand the nutrition aspect. That's the hardest part to understand and there's a lot of things people do wrong with their nutrition that holds them back big time.
I got great results using a 2 - 8 rep range. But I use other rep ranges as well... I struggled for a LONG time but once I finally figured it out I was able to gain OVER 50 pounds in 26 weeks... Only about 47 pounds of that was actual muscle, but that's still a lot of added muscle so I'm happy.
I am a 6' male. A month and a half ago I weighed 118 pounds, now I weigh 130 pounds. The way I did this was just eat tons of high calorie foods. Do i HAVE to do weight training? Or can I just do that once I weigh a bit more (say 145)? Im only 18 so I figure i have enough test osterone to naturally build muscle.
@warrior4ever1992 Without weight training, the majority of the weight you gain will be fat. If you want to gain muscle weight, the only way to do that is to give your muscles a reason to grow by breaking down your muscle fibers. And you do this by lifting heavy weights. That's the fastest way to gain muscle.

Hi, Im a guy and i have been underweight my whole life. It started to really bother me When I was 18. Im 20 now and its really bothering me. @mainohit Yeah I mean it really depends on what you want more. Do you want to play soccer more, or do you want to be muscular? I don't know many muscular soccer players. So yes you're absolutely right, soccer will burn crazy calories and not help at all if you're trying to gain weight.

@Spulpacz No, supplements won't make a difference. If you aren't gaining there is something fundamentally flawed with your current approach. You might just need to increase your calories. But there are literally hundreds of other reasons you could stop gaining weight. Check out my website if you want to get some detailed answers.

@hecatomb You'll gain all fat. It will also raise your estrogen levels and lower your testosterone levels. Not a good combo. I know drinking is a "manly" thing to do and it's a lot of fun but it actually turns you into a big pussy if you do it too much.

@lvrcmps1027 Yeah if you feel like you need extra calories there's nothing wrong with that. The more active you are the more calories you'll need. So if you're very active during the day you may need more than most people. Just track your results and see how much muscle/fat you gain each week and you'll know if you're eating too much or not enough.

@lvrcmps1027 Hey man good to hear - So you've begun using the Weight Gain Blueprint system? Yes eating 6 meals takes some getting used to... But your stomach will actually start expanding within a few weeks to accommodate for the larger amount of food you'll be eating. So yes it's cool to start off with 5 meals... Or even 6 smaller meals. But eventually you want to make sure you're getting enough calories in your body each day so I would add more food each week until you reach that goal.

But some quick tips: Start lifting weights 3x a week using compound exercises like deadlifts, bench press, pull ups, squats, etc. Start eating 20 times your bodyweight in calories each day. Get 8 hours of sleep a night. Those 3 tips alone will get you making gains if you follow them consistently. Again, check out the site for details...

@entiscool That's great you understand the nutrition aspect. That's the hardest part to understand and there's a lot of things people do wrong with their nutrition that holds them back big time.
I got great results using a 2 - 8 rep range. But I use other rep ranges as well... I struggled for a LONG time but once I finally figured it out I was able to gain OVER 50 pounds in 26 weeks... Only about 47 pounds of that was actual muscle, but that's still a lot of added muscle so I'm happy.

I am a 6' male. A month and a half ago I weighed 118 pounds, now I weigh 130 pounds. The way I did this was just eat tons of high calorie foods. Do i HAVE to do weight training? Or can I just do that once I weigh a bit more (say 145)? Im only 18 so I figure i have enough test osterone to naturally build muscle.

@warrior4ever1992 Without weight training, the majority of the weight you gain will be fat. If you want to gain muscle weight, the only way to do that is to give your muscles a reason to grow by breaking down your muscle fibers. And you do this by lifting heavy weights. That's the fastest way to gain muscle.
