  • i got a what looks like a baby perch but its gray and striped from the creek today i hope he lives

  • Nice catfish..... I have a large marblecatfish for sale

  • How easy are they to take care of?

  • @batstarwars2 I know you asked this a month ago and you might have already found the answer. But, catfish are not only the easiest fish to take care of, but definitely one of the easiest organisms to take care of. I will tell you why. They're nearly impossible to kill. I mean if you stab them of physically harm them they could die. But they can live up to 48 hours without water. They can live weeks without food. And if you don't feed them, they can live happily off of algae from the tank..

  • Did you catch or buy this?

  • my catfish killed itself when it tangled in the vegitation used for airating the water :(

His name was spike I want another one but can't seem to get one.

  • why would you get another catfish after you already had one living in your bathtub...

  • @budgielover101 their worms stupid who cares if they die

  • my bass bullys my catfish

  • i have 3 of tham in my aqarium

  • man if u had 1 of those in Colorado its rare because only 2 lakes have it

  • My catfish, that died recently :( had something against worms, I would drop in a worm, nothing. I would put in turkey, and he would go crazy.

  • My Catfish Died Recently, you can see him in my video of Louie Our Yellow Bullhead Catfish. R.I.P. Louie.

  • I now have a new yellow bullhead from today, and what's really strange is that he ate a handful of fish flake on the very first day! Does anyone now what's going on?

  • @youngoutdoorsman2001 My bullheads eat flakes every now in then too. It's good to give them a varied diet. :)

  • @shadowems My Yellow Bullheads come to the surface to eat fish flakes all the time. It is good/fun to give them a varied diet. I've fed my catfish minnows, crickets, rolly pollies, scuds, tadpoles, worms and anything I happen to find!:)

  • @youngoutdoorsman2001 i have a small black bullhead and he loves to eat dried peices of bologna

  • hey guys and girls chck out my catfish also btw nice catfish

  • My black bullheads are awesome! I throw frogs in they eat it worms other fish snails pretty much everything if I get full at supper I just bring the stuff I can't eat down too them and they eat it. Lmao my dumbass friend threw gum into it and of course they ate that too and actually digested it... I was pretty worried lmao but these fish are to badass

  • @sonicxlc123 He ended up living in a spare bathtub set up like an indoor water garden. :)

  • @shadowems nice =P i know how big they can get im rasing a bass he only get big depends on how much he eats

  • @shadowems Nice!

  • I used to grab a couple crickets off the sidewalk at night, then throw them on top of the water .... they would come up and pick them right off the surface.

  • i love it!

  • u scared by worm?

  • You ask because I'm using tweezers? Hardly, I dig them up myself. ;) Just easier to hold them with tweezers.

  • @shadowems smart and where do u dig for worms i actually feed mine large blood worms

  • It's called Yussuf Islam not Cat Stevens XD

  • lol nice name for the catfish

  • That's awesome. Catfish are badass!

  • How do u get these as pets?

  • catch him

  • cool catfish and if you feed it minnows it will grow fatter because ive raised yellow belly bullheads

  • Yeah, I fed him all kinds of stuff, minnows included. :) They were his favorite since he got to hunt them down.

  • how do you get them to eat? i have a channel catfish.

  • I have a channel and it eats at night I assume since I never see it eat and he was a inch or less when I caught him and now is about 5 inches and I never see when it eats but the food i give the other fish are pellets, flakes and freeze dried blood worms and baby shrimp so I guess it eats the blood worms and srimp and i have minnows which it dosen't mess with much as far as the stress thing goes, maybe just the type, o and I feed right as I cut the lights to ensure it eats hope this helped

  • how did you get your fish to eat

  • I just tried this with my pet brown bullhead and its the only thing he'll eat beside a live minnow, once in a while, thanks for the tip on feeding my anarexic catfish!

  • your catfish is cooler than mine, my catfish are scared as heck

  • Possibly, but the bigger the tank, the happier and healthier they will be. The catfish in this video outgrew his tank and now lives in my downstairs bath tub. :)

  • thats a cool fish i have two convicts and plec

  • is that a catfish you would find in murririver

  • i thought that fish from the river cant live in aquarium. it wont eat and things like that.

so if i catch any fish in the river does that mean it can live normally in aquarium?

  • Depends on the species. And if you plan on going out to catch fish to keep, READ UP on them first! There are a few species that do thrive in captivity, like bullhead catfish, but there are others that have requirements for survival that can't be met in a tank.

  • ok thanks.i wasnt thinking on a big fishes to hold in aquarium.some river species who do not grow more then 3,4 inches.

  • i whant one i can get one in my river their big tho

  • hey do reply me! how about baby catfishes,do reply me iie nid it urgently iie put fish food it wont eat it =(

  • or just eat it

  • Thats a nice bullhead, I bought a yellow bullhead but I was wondering what other things can I feed Mine?

  • hey :D i have one i found in a lil stream , i feed him anything from dried shrimp to minnows. I can pet mine and feed him while he is in my hand , they are smart fish

  • lazy to, they just sit in the mud and wait for something to pass for them to eat

  • I usually feed my two nightcrawlers that you can get at any bait shop, crickets, minnows, and blood worm pellets. If it's meat, they'll eat just about anything.

  • great video Really enjoyed it! did you catch it or um buy it because i want to get one and make videos to

  • where you get yours

  • hes a bullhead isnt he?

  • dude that is sweet. what else do you feed him?

  • That was CRAZY!!! LOL!!!

  • i got my bullhead catfish from a pond hes about 6 inches long and hes in a 10 gallon tank along with a 3 inch goldfish and a small plecko do you think theres too many fish in my tank

(oh yeah, i had some zebra fish in there but he ate em

    i feed him balogna

  • This was a ten gallon tank, if I remember correctly. He outgrew it very quickly and is currently residing in my downstairs bathtub.

To my knowledge, you can't buy black bullheads at any pet stores. I caught him when he was about an inch long in a creek near my house.

  • yes you can buy them at a pet store

  • Cool, where at? I've never seen them in any stores around here(TN,USA).

  • at a fish store in motana

  • cat stevens! lol cool tank setup whered you get cat stevens anyway, if you bought him how much i've seen them before at pet land discounts. how much does a tank like that cost .

  • I caught him in a creek near my house. The tank is one I've had for ages but you can buy ten gallon tanks for $10 or $15.

  • great! 8)

  • Thats a beautiful catfish! :) I got 4 of them, cought them in France.

  • id rather have a pet bass.. they dont hide or anything. But still, nice fish

  • Ok i got a few question for the owner ummm can one of those fish go in a a ten gall tank? where can i buy these? what foods will it like? what are the dos/donts? can i put some feeder goldfish in there to feed it too? i like fish that eat live food are these one of those? are they active?

  • I kept mine in a ten gallon tank for a year or two before he out grew it. To my knowledge you can't buy them anywhere though. Catfish will pretty much eat anything that's alive or stinky. I feed mine crickets, minnows, worms, etc.

So long as the feeder fish aren't too big, shouldn't be a problem. If they are too big for the catfish to eat, it will terrorize them until they die from stress though.

Bullhead catfish aren't very active during the day.

Hope that helps! Good luck! :)

  • an electric catfish only eats life food i have one hes for sale or trade

  • are catfish freshwater?

  • yes

  • you dont fish much do you?

  • @triopsluver

sorry the reply didnt work right...

  • does anybody know what other types of catfish eat live bait and fishfood or just one type of food?

  • every catfish eat anythign tht fits in its mouth

  • He's beautiful! MORE VIDS OF HIM!

  • how big is he and the tank???

  • Do you have a video of him in your bathtub?

  • Not yet, but I need to do that! Maybe I can get it done some time during the next couple of days.

  • Yeah, they aren't very active in the daytime either.

  • did you get it from fishing or?

  • I saw him in a shallow part of a creek near my house and caught him in a net. He was about an inch long then.

  • wow! you really took good care of him then!

but i got like idk maybe 20 bullheads and when i walk in the room they all go crazy begging for minnows i got them when they were babies too they were in a small group... ahah

but yeah you really took good careof yours!

  • Heheh, you should see him now! Had to move him to the downstairs bathtub he's gotten so big. The tub was never used and now it's been converted to an indoor water garden for him. :D

Aw, cool! I would imagine that would be quite the feeding frenzy.

  • ahah kewl i wish i have a tub we never use lol

  • i feeed my bull head feeder gold fish and rosy reds

  • So the bullheads do pretty well in an aquarium? How big do they get? I have a 150 gallon and am looking for a little larger catfish for it, i already have 2 oscars a bass and a little bluegill, but a catfish would be nice.

  • They seem to adapt very nicely to them. This one in the video outgrew that ten gallon tank he was in and is now in my downstairs bathtub, which has been converted into an indoor water garden of sorts. x3 I have a younger bullhead in his old tank now. Oh they can get huge, just depends on their enviroment. But they seem to grow a lot more slowly in captive settings. I think one would do great in your 150 gallon! :D Just have to make sure he didn't snack on your little bluegill.

  • That's cool man. I have six baby catfishes. They are fun to watch. They eat flake and earthworms and they are crazy eaters. They clean up the flakes in less than a second. I also have a fingerling bass and bluegill. Feed the bass tiny minnows.

  • Very cool! Sounds like you've got a great little ecosystem going! :D

  • wat size tank u need

  • Depends on the size of the fish. He was two years old in this video and in a ten gallon tank. He outgrew it not long after I took this.

  • Awesome! So bullheads love worms huh? No wonder I always catch them when I fish. Your fish looks awesome! If I ever get an aquarium, I'll just put Bullheads in it :D

  • Nightcrawlers are definitely his favorite food. :)

Thanks very much! They make really cool pets. Just don't plan on keeping any other critter in the tank with them unless it's a LOT bigger than they are. They'll eat anything that they can get a hold of.

  • cant buy game fish its illegal.

  • Bullheads are very hardy fish so I would imagine that you could but I'm not at all positive on that. I think the temperature would be fine and I imagine the salt would too, but you might try asking someone at a pet store that you trust.

  • Thanks! I caught him in a creek on my property when he was just under an inch long. Used a net. :)

  • aw! Cat Stevens is so cute!! i was just wondering, what kind of tank that was (in gallons) because im raising catfish (they are tiny babies right know) and i need to get a bigger tank before they grow to big. so if you could message me the size of the tank that would be totally rad!!

  • Thanks!

The tank in the video is just a ten gallon. He outgrew it pretty quick and is now in the bathtub downstairs which has been converted to a sort of indoor water garden. x3 I need to post a video of that... Careful keeping bullheads together, if any one gets a growth spurt before the others, it will eat them. I had a second, smaller catfish in the tank with Cat Stevens to begin with and he didn't last long. ***shall also message this to ya*** :)

  • i wonder if its easy or hard to keep a catfish unless you know what to tell me?

  • Pretty easy. They definitely aren't picky eaters and so long as they have clean water and a decent sized-tank they are happy. Don't try and keep any other fish with them though. They'll either get eaten or seriously harassed.

  • i love your bullhead and the video thanx for posting

  • Heheh, thankies! Definitely! :)

  • you have a bullhead?

  • I have two now actually. The one in the video(Cat Stevens) now lives in my downstairs bathtub which has been converted into a sort of indoor water garden. :D The second one is very small and lives in Cat Stevens' old tank.

  • HOW DID YOU GET HIM,FISHING.

  • I caught him in a little net when he was less than an inch long in the creek on my property.

  • i have the same bullhead catfish

  • They are great pets. :)

  • It's just a standard ten gallon. I have a thirty gallon that I'll be putting him in come spring time because he is getting rather cramped in this one.
