LOL, doctors could easily take care of scars like that back in the 90s with skin grafts and hair transplantation. It was all just for dramatic effect. LOL, I remember occasionally watching this show in my early teens.

Anyways, it was so "out there" in crazy plot lines and rampant sexuality it was such a turn off. I mean I wish there was a drama that would mix real, important issues and bizarre plot lines instead of just wild sexcapdes. Who REALLY has time for that type of drama? LOL

The doctor places a small inflatable device (like a ballon) just underneath the skin and expands that device so that the skin cells can replicate and generate additional skin. That skin is then surgically sewed onto where the removed damaged skin was.

Okay. A season earlier (or whatever, I'm not certain) Michael got himself and Kimberly in a drunken car wreck, as he was drunk. Michael's injuries were pretty bad, but Kim's were worse to the point that she needed brain surgery, hence the scar. I hope that helps.
