Why not make big enduros two-stroke (now 690cc+) and lubricate cylinder walls with some rpm-dependent system rather than premix, and have them fuel injected rather than use carburetor. It'd allow smaller and lighter engine for same power without two-stroke smell or gasoline premixing hassle, and being fuel injected it would be immune to weather changes and altitude.

Also why not make the clutch and gear box covers natural metal, this would stop wear marks from boots. It looks terrible. What is the point of painting them black or painting the writing?? The writing on my KTM 250SXF 2010 was half worn off after two rides...

Kato's are sick! But There are a few things I would like to see changed :- They should lose the Steel frame and use Aluminium already, Im sick of rust! Some of the engine/body bolts are prone to surface rust, looks shabby. And the bottom of the tank and the air filter plastic cover get alot of scratches from boot wear.

Nach 12 Jahren KTM LC4 400 bin ich dieses Jahr auf eine KTM EXC450 umgestiegen. All die Jahre habe ich es nie bereut, auf KTM unterwegs zu sein! Sei es im harten Endurosport-Einsatz, auf Reisen durch die weiten Wüsten Nordafrikas oder auf dem täglichen Arbeitsweg. Weiter so!
