3/4/10 House panel approves Armenian genocide resolution The House Foreign Affairs Committee endorsed the resolution with a 23-22 vote Thursday, even though the Obama administration had urged Congress not to offend Turkey by approving it. The resolution now goes to the full House,...
Minutes after the vote, Turkey said it was recalling its ambassador from Washington..
LOOOL they got kicked out of youtube BY bourjhamoud and now kicked out of washington too lol
Really? Almost all Western & some Armenian sources from the period had the entire Armenian population at around 1.5 million, and genocide propagandists themselves admit 1 million survived. Of the half-million or so who really died, the relatively few who were massacred were done in by independent forces, not the government. Most died from famine/disease, like most of the Turks who died.
No, Kurds were never promised land. What's your source? The same as for "turks killed 1.5 million Armenians"?
@tellyoutrue Genocide isn't about numbers but about the intention to destroy, in whole or in part, a group of people. Something you denialists always forget.
@Surenity Before making immature and defamatory labels, get your facts straight. No, numbers ARE important. But as you indicated, what is most important are the FACTS that you need to make the charge of an "intent to destroy." So what's your evidence? If the British couldn't come up with this evidence during their 30 month Malta Tribunal investigation, I doubt you will be able to. If you have no evidence, then why insist on genocide? Why should you be a "denialist" of the truth?
No one knows for sure how many Armenians lived in the Ottoman Empire at the time. It varies between 1.2-2 million. Likewise, the number killed in the genocide also varies between 600,000 and 1.5 million.
Also, since you rely mostly on lobbied pseudo-intellectuals and Anti-Armenian rhetoric for your information, there is no reason for me to challenge what you said, because you think you're educated just because you treat the dictionary like the Bible or the Qur'an.
@Gunderson002 If the population was between 1.2-2 million, then you should have no problem with the midpoint, 1.5-1.6 million, the common consensus of the time, and of non-partisan educators today. Since genocide proponents agree 1 million Armenians survived, that means 1.5 million could not have possibly died. So is it not dishonest of you to consider this high end?
My sources are mostly Armenian & prejudiced western accounts. You are also being dishonest by saying otherwise. Don't pick sides.
Okay, so, let me get this straight. The 'prejudiced' western accounts are right when they tell you what you want to hear, but wrong with they support me? Selective reasoning is not advisable. Also, just because it was 1.2-2 million doesn't that the midpoint is the most likely. Also, I have never said that 1.5 million died, period. The 1.5 million figure also includes Armenians who were driven out or forcibly assimilated, which outnumber those who were killed.
yeah right, and armenian has nothing to do with PKK. really nothing... so ASALA was just an illusion and they really never had meetings with PKK. and of course that kurdish dude i know, who's actually an armenian is also just some kind of a dream. and when he defended PKK, i must've had something in my ears and just misunderstood it. and that there are different kind of kurds ethnics is also just a fairytale, kurds killing kurds and fighting each other too. now that dude proofed it, really...
turks are the ugliest people in the world.
