Very brutal my favorite Egyptian metal band.goes to show that, anyone can do metal music, blacks, asians, whites, india,egypt, arabia, it dosent matter if your from a different country or race, if you love metal, listen to it. i myself am a goth, i soon want to start my own goth/death metal band..anyways, Scarab, woo hoo you guys totally rule, this is my favorite track, "Ankh".

The main reason things sound middle-eastern to western ears is they have an augmented second interval, preceded and followed by two half steps.

Granted there are many other scales, but this is the main one used whenever people want to make westerners think of the desert.
