  • hey, do you recommend that head ?

  • @MazzeoLucho Yes! Very much!

  • Mindblowing tone you got! Damnnn!

  • xD Amon Amarth and Rage against the Machine

  • Anthrax bass

  • @TheDamnedBassPlayer Pretty sure its a aerodyne

  • Precise sound and cover, could you tell how you achieved it? Also you should try using ghost notes, e.g: at 3:17 the D you play on A should be a ghost note.

  • love the shirt man, seen em live :)

  • Nice man and your room doesn't need cleaning up.. might be a bit too tidy..ha.

  • Nice bass and cover too... :)

  • I want your bass :-)

  • Slide Man!!!

  • Slide man

  • Slide man!

  • rage agAINST THE MACHINE FUCKING ROCKS

  • ugly bass but nice cover :D

  • @theniiick1 its a fender...:/

  • cool dude , but i think if you recording while you playing is better , try it =]

  • tidy yr room!!

    nice cover =)

  • hey wats the tuning for this song

  • @magoot4life7426 Hey man, it's drop D. Tune the E string down two frets to get the D, so your bass will be D A D G

  • @Moleskineman alright thanks man

  • @LuchoMazzeo You can get loads of tones from it, but yes - it's great for thrash. I used it in my old thrash band, and it sounded awesome.

  • 0:48. bass drop ftw

  • Sure! I use a Gallien Kreuger 700RB-II head with a Gallien Kreuger 210RBH cab. The practice amp that I use in the Hallowed Be Thy name video is a Marshall MB30.

  • wonderful cover... super liked it man!!

  • Dont you just love Gallien Krueger!? I think I have the same head, what kind of cab is that?

  • It's a kickass amp, never let me down :) the cab is the 210RBH, but I don't think they make it any more. I got it for a good price from eBay. The head is the 700RB-II...I got that new ;)

  • Clean your room next time!

  • I'll think of you next time I record a video! ;-)

  • @Moleskineman nice bass man..make more covers :P

  • @moimasiclat Don't have a camera where I am at the moment, but I've got some lined up ;)

    Thanks for the comment!

  • only 4 videos!!

dude you should have more videos

    this shit is fucking awesome

  • lovin that bass dude. how much?

  • If I remember correctly it was £699, which is $1,016.79 US dollars. Plus £100 on pickups, and £90 on a bridge...I think it's something around $1,200, in total!

  • @Moleskineman Did you replace the pickups? so... this is not how it sounds when you buy it?

  • I've got an SB-2 P Bass pickup and the STK-J2 Jazz pickup. The bass sounds very, very good with default hardware - I just wanted more of a kick ;) the Badass Bass II bridge also brightens up the sound and gives more sustain, although not a whole lot more, because this bass already sustained notes pretty well. See if you can get to your local music shop and try one out. :)

  • nice GK rig! :D and great cover! :)

  • your cover are awesome guy !

  • Thank you very much!

  • oh you're good with your fingers ;) haha! but seriously man that wass fast nice!

  • Steady on! Thanks for watching :)

  • How good is that amp head???? im still thinking about buying it but not completely sure yet. Great cover BTW!

  • It's a great amp head, it's really great for playing in clubs, pubs and if you've got a PA system it sounds amazing. It's got good customisation so you can really get a good sound out of it, whatever your style. It's also very well built; a very solid amp!

My one problem I've had with it is that not many places stock Gallien Krueger - that's not a problem with the amp, though. It's a very sweet head; if you can afford it, get it!

  • Thanks for the info that really helps!

  • hey, I am torn between buying a american jazz standard or the aerodyne, do u suggest this bass?

  • I would definitely recommend this bass, as it gives you such a wide range of sound. You can make it sound like a jazz or a P-bass, or anything in between. However, you should try and play both before you buy, so you can get a feel of both and make your decision based on that :)

  • GK 210......8 ohms/400W?

  • Yup, that's the one :)

    The head is the 700RB

  • So you can run the 700 at full volume and not worry about blowing a speaker? Seeing as there is 100W or so of headroom. I am really considering this rig.

  • Honestly, I've never needed to whack it up to full volume. I've played at a few local pubs and bars, nothing big, but the bass cut right through everything at about 2/3 of the max volume. I have put it at foll volume once or twice; you do get a little distortion. Not much, but enough that you wouldn't want to play with it like that for too long, if that makes sense.

It's an awesome rig, I would highly recommend it, I really would.

  • what is your cab and head set up?

  • Both cab and head are Gallien Krueger; the head is a 700RB-II which I bought new, and the cab is a second hand RBH210 (at least, I think it is - I just looked on the website and can't find it there, so I guess it's discontinued. The closest one I can see there is the Neo 210.)

If you want the exact EQ settings I'm afraid you'll have to wait a week or two, as I don't have it with me at the moment, but if you want I can get them to you.

    Hope that helps :)

  • wow, i'm a giant fan of rage, and you really did justice to the bassline. it gave a whole new life to the song for me!

  • Wow, thank you very much! Glad you like it :)

  • Nice, I see that you have the same set as Duff Mckagan :)

  • Very similar...the bass was actually an accident, I didn't find out till afterwards :P but his use of GK's prompted me to look into them (as with Steve Harris' and Flea's use)

  • Is this a Fender Aerodyne with a Badass II bass bridge(black) and Seymour Duncan Bassline pickups, that's what I have sitting in my guitar rack with my Sterling Ray35 and ESP LTD B404SM :)

  • It is indeed, yes! A gorgeous bass, with sweeet pickups...the bridge is also great :P I was thinking about getting the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder for the precision pickup, and the Fender Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickup in the jazz position...I still very much like the combo, and might change to that when I put new ones in.

  • DUDE I FREAKING LOVE THIS!

  • Thank you very much, sir!

  • lol im a girl:) but ya this is great how long did it take you to learn this song???

  • Oh...my bad :) Erm...not too long! It's actually a very easy song to play, the hardest part is keeping the rhythm going. I'd say a day to learn it, and a week or two to get the timing right!

  • U got an icredible tone there m8 ;)

Do I see right that these are Seymour Duncan pus?

  • Thanks, friend :) Yup, they're both SD's, I can't remember the models off-hand (I probably should be able to...) but I can very easily find out, if you'd like to know.

  • Oh, that would be very awesome, man!

and another thing, you know which strings you´re using there?

  • Okayy, the jazz pick up is the STK-J2B and the precision one is the SPB-2 "Hot P Bass".

The strings are Ernie Ball "Power Slinky Bass Nickel Wound .055 - .110". The model number for them on the Ernie Ball website is 2831, so you should just be able to search that and get them.

    Hope that helps! :)

  • Alright, thanks m8 =)

Oh my, I got Ernie Balls on both my basses right now and they don´t even come close

I assume that a big part of your sound comes the GK too, they sound great...

  • What amp do you have? I chose GK because, well...it sounds great, but also all the artists I know of that use them have very distinctive tones, namely Flea and Duff. I think if I would have any other amp, I'd get an Ampeg, they're beauuutiful :)

  • well, at home I use my crappy little Marshall :D

for my band though, I got an Ashdown halfstack

it´s not great but it´s good especially considering the price of only roughly 500 bucks for the whole stack

But as soon as I have loads of money to spend on an amp, I´ll go with Ampeg, EBS or Mesa/Boogie if I have toooo much money :D

  • Ashdown's are nice, James LoMenzo from Megadeth uses Ashdown :)

That's a good list; EBS are also good...Marcus Miller uses them ;) Also look at Trace Elliot, I don't actually know if they're sold in the States...they're pretty expensive, but definitely worth it if you want complete control over your sound! Steve Harris and John Entwhistle both use Trace Elliot.

  • First: I´m from Germany, m8 :D

Second: I think Miller uses SWR, but Tal Wilkenfeld e.g. uses EBS

Trace Elliot is not exactly the sound I´m looking for ;)

as far as I know Entwistle mostly used Marshal bass amps and guitar cabinets for that trebly sound... but I´m not sure, he migh have used TE as well ;)

  • Ahh, Germany...my mistake! No offence meant ;)

Entwistle used Marshall? Really? Hmm...that's news to me. I'm only going on what Wikipedia told me! I'm not a fan of Marshall's personally, they just seem to be lacking in something. I hope you find the amp you're looking for! Let me know what you get in the end, I'll be interested to know what you think of it :)

  • Haha, it´s ok man ;)

Yep, he did! He was one of the first bass players to do so...

Well, I bet it´s going to take a huge while until I do but you´ll sure notice, man =)

  • By the way - Tim Commorford, from RATM, he uses Ampeg :P

  • No need to criticise.. Nice work man

  • Great Aerodyne!

  • Thanks, Serra! :)

  • Sick. ;)

  • Gracias!

  • Yayy! Go Jamie!!

  • Thank you, Kathryn -_-
