Yeah... i am beginning to think this is not gonna come out anytime soon it's been well over a year and a half i am disappointed that there has been no word at all.
Where is this documentary? I can't find it for sale even on its own site, as announced coming out nearly a YEAR AGO, this documentary can't be found to watch, rent or buy anywhere online! So where the hell is it & what happened???
@gmj2012 It premiered at Chiller Theater in New Jersey not too long ago. The film is in fact finished. I would imagine the problem right now being in the distribution. It is after all an indie film and distribution cost money. The facebook page says "big announcements coming soon" which really implies a release date but it's up in the air at this point. I'm not holding my breath that it'll get released any time soon.
I've had the pleasure of playing with Myke, and there's no harder working SOB who's incredibly paid his dues and gotten screwed for it. A very well done film, and very hard to see those who've passed. Highly recommend it.
@GlennsMisfits Great idea. We tell some of the Misfits story giving background to Myke Hideous. Ask this, is it really worth seeing a straight out Misfits Doc without all the major players? Like it or not, it's impossible and doesn't feel right to do it WITHOUT Danzig, Jerry, Bobby, Doyle, Kenny, MIchale, Zing, Eerie Von, ect. ALL TOGETHER despite how they feel personally. Unfortunately, some of those people won't ALL work together, if the other are involved.
This looks like it will be a great documentary, and follows a lot of musicians I love in the Danzig and Type O Negative camp. BUT... when is it going to be released? Is there a site or something that gives info where I can follow updates on this project? Thanks
Seeing Peter Steele with a beard reminds me of Jim Morrison having a beard before he passed away. Seeing Peter front the band without his bass in the video for "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" also reminded me of Jim.
@ANVrocks yep, Ill have a copy as soon as its possible too. Why did Peter Steele say he let people down I wonder. I was never a big fan of that Genre of music but I thought he was well liked by his fans till the day he died.
@scumgod13 yeah that ass-hat Pinky Allin is in there... making a big play about 'his music'... what f***ing music?? a couple of lame GG copycat numbers, and an album's worth of GG back-up band shit? that's about it. as usual with this turd the emperor isn't wearing any clothes. we're accustomed to this ass's bullshit at this point though
@greywallpaper Yea, I guess that is sorta funny talking about he's always got HIS music. I mean I bet he wrote the music for COUPLE m.j.S SONGS BUT NO ONE WOULD HAVE HEARD OF THE MUSIC WAS IT NOT FOR GG'S LYRICS! I dont hate Merle or even spend a lot of energy getting mad at him.In a way I guess its good theyre introducing GG to generation after generation, I just notice Merle in it and wondered if theres any Scum rockers Like ANTiSEEN or COCKNOOSE, Dwarves or Meat Men in it.
@scumgod13 i hear ya! i bet Clayton isn't in there tho. if that's the case (& what do i know cuz I havent seen it) that shit would show up the movie for serious flaws. in other words a guy like Jeff Clayton can toil for 25 years, 100% DIY & 100% underground, doing interesting shit that answers to no one & be ignored, while Pinky can coast in on a relative's coat tails w/ a stupid beard & clueless asses will deem his non-contribution as relevant. as if anything he has ever done is of interest
@scumgod13 Yah, I don't hate Pinkie either. More feel sorry for him. If he actually beleives what is coming out if his own mouth in this clip he is self-delusional. My guess is if he is feeling down after a relationship breakup what he really does is count his money. Then he cheers up pretty quick
@bobbyboythief i am sure pinkie is absolutely loaded as living off the royalties and merch of a underground punk band must be making him heaps of cash ahaha.
@67675656565655656565 Grow up. Pinky makes fuck all from the GG tribute act obviously, no need to worry about that joke "act" . . . . it's the GG merch, and GG footage he sells the "rights" to etc. that makes money - and plenty of it. As usual GG's daughter gets nothing from it and never has. Pinky's a talentless ass. ever see where he lives?
This is undeniably the saddest thing I've heard and seen in awhile - probably since April 14th (also known as that infamous day when Peter went ahead to met his maker). While I hope that Peter didn't really feel the way he did - that he'd let himself so many people down, friends, fans and self alike - I fear he took those thoughts to the grave. And that is the saddest thing to me. If there is an afterlife, I hope he can finally see and understand just how much he was loved.
Yah, this looks great; Having worked with and around a lot of musicians (some of the ones featured here) I am looking forward to seeing this. Pete reminds me of Rasputin hehe. So sad, I miss him bunches; God rest him.
@TRMcGeeXXX That is GG Allin's brother Merle Allin. He played (and plays) bass for the Murder Junkies. Great interview. You can also see him in the movie "Hated" and anytime GG appeared on a talk show (i.e. Springer, Geraldo).
@SonnyX3X Oh ok, thanks. Sorry if it was agin a bit ignorant. I can't even recognize some of my favorite musicians, so I really had no clue who he was.
I don't want to take away what this film has to offer, I but it kills me to watch the one little part with Peter in it that seems to sum up his last words of his life. This will be a tough movie to watch but the movie itself I cannot wait to see. And how true it is in the music business.
Huh. Always wondered what happened to Myke Hideous after his 10-minute stint as the Misfits vocalist. The part with Peter at the end is quite a downer. Look forward to seeing this.
Don't be humbled, Pawl. Stand up tall and proud, you've given all of us a very poignant view of the real world that musicians live in. A view we might otherwise never have had. It's a glimpse into their reality, and what they choose to go through and live with for us, their fans. Every so often, a film maker comes along with the talent and vision to bring the message across. I hope you DO win at Sundance!
very VERY proud to be apart of this, even just a small part. Pawl has done a wonderful job with this film. I know I'm going to get choked up watching Peter talk and the trials of being an artist "of any kind" struggling with trying to make it big. A lot of time and A LOT of heart went into making this. Spread the word folks.
@Satanikulturpessimis The song is yet to be released. Myke Hideous (the man in front of the flag) wrote and preformed that song for the final Empire Hideous album "the Time Has Come".
Just knowing what was in store for the Type O guys in losing Peter just made this that much harder to watch. Cannot wait to see these even though I will probably cry my eyes out while viewing it.
This should be a great documentary; Glenn Danzig, Peter Steele (RIP), Steve Zing, Kenny Hickey, Johnny Kelly... awesome. The part with Peter Steele makes me feel sad :(
@Arkynkili My God me too. I didn't know him personally but his death absolutely devastated me. Peter was my second favourite songwriter of all time, (after Mike Akerfeldt). It's going to make me very sad to watch this but I can't wait for it.
