Get the Ferrari version of the 500. Want to crash, burn and die? Get the 261 bhp (!!!) Hamann version of the 500 Abarth. The iQ is probably decent, but it's not THAT good. And the 500 just looks good.

The only point of this car that I can see is to circumvent laws regulating the CO2 the cars of a company may produce. This iQ should lower the average of Aston Martin quite a bit. It's still hideous tho.

@iannGT2 Thanks. I suppose Audi and Mercedes have much more resources than Aston. Mercedes owns a part of Tesla, so it has already the technology needed to build electric performance cars. Audi belongs to VW, and no doubt they do know a bit about electric cars too. Also, those cars would mean the development of an entirely new car, which costs a lot. Rebadging a iQ is cheap.

it's a Toyota iQ which Aston Martin has bought the rights to, so-to-speak. the car itself is produced by Toyota, but Aston Martin will probably do the inside, trimming, grille, lights ans stuff.

AM shouldn´t be doing this type of cars, never.
If AM wants to enter into a new segment, they should do it with an eco but still sporty car... they should do their own version of the iconic/super popular e30 M3. Lightweight, high powered 4 cylinder turbo engine, cheap, and as good in handling as a Lotus.
