well said....most people do not give a toss about your time in the forces....... this applies to the United Kingdom and the USA............in fact military life does nothing at all to prepare you for life in the civilian enviroment...so all those joining the forces need to think long and hard about making the move into the military..best bet is to do a full contract if possible..22yrs service in British Army then leave with a pension..its the best way to do it if you serious about joining.
This is just proof that we as veterans were taken as suckers, we have to be honest with our youth and kill the myth that after the military you can get a good job that day is done, thats why all military members should take a look at my channel as I try to talk about military issues in an honest manor
