He clearly isn't in any rush.. CR probably told him to give the car a little break.. He's braking nice and easy and taking the bends nice and easy and only flooring it in the straights.. But gotta love that deep growl and roar the engine lets out

I watched one Le Mans with Corvette vs Aston Martin. I don't remember which year it was but I believe the Aston was leading by a lap and had a problem. The TV camera was showing them frantically trying to get the Aston back out. But you could here the Vette go past the pits. I wish I could find a tape of that shot. The sound was just fantastic! I wish I could have been there like sanchez64!!

The Chevy Corvette C6.R ia a really nice car. It's got shear power, but unfortunetely does not handle as good as some of the other GT2 cars (GT1 in the picture).

yeah this car right here :P ! the sister car pulled out and the privateer corvette finished second with a private dbr9 in third the gt1 this year was tiny with only 6 competetors and even then the lambo pulled out before the second lap. excellent race this year though!

They were the only factory team man, you can't expect the privateer teams to keep up with them.

Sucks that this year was the last year we'll see the gt1 C6 though, I saluted 63 and 64 when they finished the last lap this year, le mans won't be the same without that V8 thunder!

They are running ZR1's in GT2 now with the smaller 5.5L V8's :(

No Corvette are still racing but not in this beast :(

@themunster so gone is the deep growl of a Corvette then. Atleast we have the Saleen S7Rs to produce that sound.

Yeah there are still a couple of private C6R's in GT1 but the factory team cars always sounded better :)

@themunster How can they have sounded better? It's the EXACT same 7 Litre engine... The private Luc Alphand GT1 Corvettes, or other private GT1 vettes are EX factory Corvettes...

@CobraMarty hehe I know it sounds stupid, but P&M ran a bespoke exhaust setup in 2008/2009 where as Luc Alphand continued to use the original setup.

in 2008 one of the corvettes actually cracked its manifold, and that sounded awesome :)

I love this C6R and Team Corvette sadly to say that even thought i loved this years Le Mans Team Corvette did not win :( next year we will come back to prove how good we really are.
