@grees9999 You can try Breedreferral@ACDCA.org - breeder referral at Australian Cattledog Club of America. A Cattledog is a kind of dog that can be pain in the neck but you cannot live without! I am sorry you missed yours...
We loved this video....myself, husband, and red heeler named Ghost. As we are new cattle dog owners we often research online video of dogs in regular life behavior patterns so we can better understand the breed. I truly loved your online video and can't wait for the upcoming winter seasons. If you have any advise on training a cattle dog please email me at npostich@gmail.com. We are trying to control some of the "nipping habits"
I posted here a month ago when I put up Nuggets first video, but have to come back and watch! This outshines most every slide-show video...so I thought I should tell you what a wonderful job you have done with the photos! I mean, REALLY awesome photography! Top notch at "Catching the moment!". You don't just love Heelers, you must have the eye of a Heeler! ;-) Thanks again, I will enjoy this video for years to come! :-) ~Kevin And Nugget~
@unclearless Thank you very much! It is so nice of you. I think having a digital camera really helped to take those pictures as I did not have to worry about how many films I had or how much it would cost to have them developed! So I can take many pictures, and many of them are quite un-interesting. Hope you are taking lots of pictures of Nugget!
Great vid! My little rescue "Nugget" was already a year old, so Sunny helps me see what he would have looked like before I got him! Thank you very much for sharing! :-)
@unclearless Thank you for saving Nugget! Hope you are enjoying him. After I lost my heart dog,Paige (the red girl), I now got another red girl. I also look at old photos of my cattledogs to see what she would be as she grows up.
What a handsome dog. My ACD is very similar in appearance. He is 9 months old now. He as so cute when we got him as a baby at 8 weeks. He is the only one in our town, possibly the entire shire. we live in Scotland.
I lOVE THIS!! I felt so much love in this, and this makes me smile and cry. I live in japan now, used to live in California. I have a blue heeler, Bandit - he is 15 and a half yrs old. He also moved to Japan 2years ago. Actually he belongs to my feance who still lives in California. This breed is just... AMAZING DOGS!! I LOVE my puppy!! :)
@PS1Connect Both are Australian cattle dogs. They are wonderful as long as you train and excerce them physically and mentally. They are bred to heel cattle. So the good obedience training is a must. Tired cattle dogs are good cattle dogs... but if you do not have time, they can be your worst nightmare!! If you think you have time and get one, please adopt from rescue/shelter/pound, or contact ethical breeders. No pet store or Backyard breeder! Thanx!!
@PaigeSundanceMom is their any place close to Torrance, California to adopt one? If not how much is the average price? Thanks! After seeing this dog this is the dog I want :) My mom and dad like it too.
@PS1Connect please visit acdrescueinc. com/acdper.shtml (remove a space before com) and read it with your parents. And please discuss as a family if this is a kind of breed that you would like to get! I am trying to find somebody in your area whom you can connect with so that your family can speak with him/her and see actual dogs. Also please visit australiancattledog. com (remove a space) to learn more about the breed. And please stay away from pet stores or back yard breeders! Thanks!
my dog madison looks exactly like yours she has the white on her forehead and everything but she's not as big as sundance i just love blue heelers there so unique and beatiful
@joyannaroof Sunny at the end of this video was about 38lbs. He has gotten so solid and so heavy all the sudden I cannot pick him up easily!! I love both blue and red - as my first cattle dog Paige is red. Enjoy Madison!
blue heelers are just the best dogs out there! they are all so cute and unique, they are SO smart, and they are just so lovable and protective =) I will always have at least one austrailian cattle dog in my life
But for now, I will stick with the one I have had for 7 years =)
Love your puppy pics, I never got to raise my girl as a puppy (she was 1 when we got her) so I bet it was a fun and cute time!!
@4Dancingtrolls I agree with you whole heartedly. Cattledog is best! Actually Sundance was my first puppy too. I got Paige (red girl) when she was 7 mos old and Fly (who passed) when he was 5 mos old. Having a cattledog puppy this young was fun and challenging - think cattledog in a small package! He is 6 years old, almost the same age as your cattledog. Enjoy your cattledog!
Our ACD "Sadie", was a rescue dog, and she is the best dog I've ever had. Wish I would have got her as a puppy tho. But they are very smart and she is a quick learner.
@plinchili Thank you for giving Sadie the second chance!! Sunny is my first puppy this young (8 weeks) that I have had. He jhas just turned 6. Time flies. Enjoy your pup!!
Your dog is absolutely adorable. I have an Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler and I say it grow up when it was little but i dont remember wat it he looked like so now i have an idea.
Had a funny bored heeler experience today! We all stayed in the pool this evening longer than usual, and after Boudreaux got tired of staring at me in the pool, he went in search of something to chew and destroyed my eyeglasses! He'll get worked hard at the farm tomorrow for that one, mama needs new glasses! They need to be challenged, usually mine is too worn out at the end of the day for much mischief.
Wanted to let you know that all of your wonderful advice has been GOLDEN in restoring peace in the house. Also, I put up a new video if you would like to see him!
@Seraphim2121 I am soooo glad things have worked out for you! But you know these dogs, they will invent something new to keep you on your toes! Have to love the cattledogs!
im considering getting a blue heeler, but i had one BIG concern if anyone has an answer id appreciate it
im very active outdoors, one of my favorite activities is long bike trips, can i bike ride with a blue heeler or is he going to constantly nip at the bike tires, due to his herding instincts.
will he run along side the bike or will he run straight for the tires which would probably either cause me to fall over or the dog to get run over
A hard question as the answer depends on dogs. All ACDs get nippy in their teen, and most stop nipping with a firm but gentle "No." But some are obsessed with tires! My older one is fine with tires but wants to kill bikes as she was teased. My concern with my younger one is whether he can run along side instead of coming in or pull me off! But that can be fixed with training. If both of you are moving, I think he will be too busy to bite on the tire, but I just can't tell!
@PaigeSundanceMom Be careful with lawnmowers too. We had our Heeler for 13 years and she lost 2 teeth in from (ride on) lawnmower wheels. Fabulous dogs, bu they need to be constantly challenged, otherwise they get bored and become a little destructive. When ours was bored she'd break into the laundry and bury our dirty clothes. If you coudn't find your favourite shirt, just look under the freshly turned dirt in the yard haha
@fuelforwar3 I have to buy frozen marrow bones when I mow the lawn so that the dogs are busy. Otherwise they go inside while mowing. Bored cattle dogs are not good dogs!
ive had two die chasing tires on the street, and the cars were going like 30!! its hard to break but you have to be friggen firm, period but they have the running stamina of a gazelle
I just love this video. Its so cute watching the young puppy grow up and yet so sad watching his buddy get older. Then towards the end when the music is winding down we don't see the old guy anymore. :"-(
Paige (red one) was my agility partner, so it is very hard to see her getting old. Fortunately she is still with us and bossing Sunny around. Everyday is precious. Thank you for your comment!!
I am so sorry that Manny had to go to Rainbow Bridge. Cattledogs are always your shadows, and the lack of their presence is felt so strongly. I hope you will open your heart to another cattledog soon as cattledogs are so good at making you laugh!
I am not sure hat you mean but Take it easy was written by JB and GF. JB wrote the song and gave it to GF to finish it. It was recorded by both. As you know, they were good friends living in Laurel Canyon even before the Eagles was formed and collabolated many songs for the Eagles albums. You know the Tecquila Circuit, right? I like the Eagles version too but JB version has been growing on me for years!
What a great looking dog, hope you and your family enjoy him for years. I just had to put mine down, Bandit was 15 years old and to me, was one of the best friends I ever had. They are truly one of natures greatest breed of dogs, personally I prefer them to people as I think they are smarter. How many tennis balls can he get in his mouth??????? Bandit could get three of them in her gob and then coerce you into chasing her for the slim possibility she might give you one. Enjoy!
Sakoshooter48, thank you for your comment and I am sorry that Bandit went to the Rainbow Bridge. Why don;t they live longer??? Yes, the cattledogs are so smart that they understand you like nobody else. I lost my 4-year old who crushed into a tree. The void was filled only by another ACD boy, who you see in this video. Hope you welcome another cattledog into your heart soon!
We have a Blue Heeler puppy, he's about 5 or 6 months old (we got him from our local shelter so not for sure on age) and he's a handfull!! We named him Zeus and he bites and chews on everything, including the kids, though never in anger or agression. He's as smart as a whip though and learned sit and stay in like 20 minutes. He loves to fetch and will do it for hours. I just wish he'd stop chewing on everything, please tell me he will grow out of this!!!
yeah i have a blue cattle too! He's a mischief maker, but they definately grow out of it! It's just whar puppies do, although cattle dogs are known for tearing apart any toy u give them, they love a mission.
Never hit a cattle dog. They don't take to a heavy handed trainer. Whenever he chews, take out whatever he is chewing on and give him a toy. My Boo is 3 now and is the best dog I ever had.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments! Sundance is going to be 5 in July - time does go so fast - but he still thinks he is a puppy, and Paige makes sure he is still puny.
My pup is a girl blue heeler. In 0:29 is how old she is. Later on I got a red heeler. In 0:16 is how old is he. I loved your dog. Right, they grow up so fast.
This is a great video-I love my Heelers so much as well, my red heeler(best animal I ever had in my life)passed on at almost 16 yrs we lived in 3 states together and both coasts of the US-heelers are the best ever!!
It is "Take it Easy" by Jackson Browne. The Eagles version is more famous, but Jackson and the Eagles wrote the song together. Both versions are highly recommended!!
Is 2.30am and my last night without a pup to think about, going for "diesel" tomorrow, a 2 hour drive straight from work, could have waited til saturday but didnt want to wait another day! As you say... :) they grow up so fast! Thanks for your message, will be sure and post videos soon.

It is "Take it Easy" by Jackson Browne. The Eagles version is more famous, but Jackson and the Eagles wrote the song together. Both versions are highly recommended!!

Thanks! He is over 4 now. He is the super active, over the top dog but what a pleasure to train him!
