I was diagnosed with gallstones and recommended to have surgery. I refused and went home to fast for 2 days and ate very lightly for 1 week. At the end of 1 week almost all my pain was gone and I am so glad I never had the surgery. By resting and eating lightly the body was able to disolve the stones and pass them out of the duct which it was stuck in.
went into the hospital on dec. 20th and had mine removed on the 26th. so i spent christmas in the hospital. wasnt to bad at first but just 3 days later i feel like a complete train wreck! would love to take the pain pills but they back me up so im kinda in limbo!
@MegaHillFolk It will be ok. The flu probibly irritated your stomach muscles. If it keeps up go back to the Dr. They may need to check it again. Hope you feel better soon.
You can feel the staples inside you afterwards? And some people talk about the gas from surgery causing severe pain in your shoulder.Ugh and I HAVE to get this done sometime soon.I may have it on Christmas Day assuming I don't die of gang green waiting for the radiologist report (toaday is Dec.22nd.Did ultrasound 2 days ago.Doc wasn't open today. So no report back).I've had symptoms since thanksgiving day and mistook it for gas.It went away then came back this Monday, with a vengance.
@Casshern1100 Hoping your surgery went well. The gas pain isn't too bad. GasEX was my best friend then. You will feel so much better once it is over. Get better soon.
I had my gallbadder removed last Friday Dec 9. I feel very different. My stomach doesn't feel like I have something poking on it. I'm still on bed rest but doing fine. It wasn't as bad as I thought.
I just had the same surgery two weeks ago. No big deal. I went home in less than two hours and, within three days, I couldn't even tell that I had the surgery. I was up up and around the same day the surgery was done. There was only minor discomfort and slight pain the first couple days. This is very routine. No need to make a drama about it. I'm 62 years old and it was the first time I was ever in the hospital ever and the first time I was ever treated for anything. Nothing to it.
@ZoneIII I'm glad you had such a great experience! I was in the hospital for 2 nights after my surgery and a month later I am still in pain from it. It is routine but it isn't a minor surgery. They mess with your organs and anytime they are unnaturally disturbed, there is the potential for complications.
Im having mine removed on the 30th of August. I've had four impacted wisdom teeth removed so I think this should go smoothly. Were your gallstones painful? The pain was intense enough for me to drive to the ER...
@amjmata You may have stones in your bile duct. And you also may have a bile leak. You should ask your Dr. about it. Just because you have the gallbladder removed, doesn't stop the stones from forming. Hope you find some answers!!
i'm a nurse and will be having lap cholecystectomy tomorrow. scared sh*t not because of the pain but because of the thought i'm under general anesthesia and will not have any control on what's going on.
@slmnsongbrd, how do you feel now after gallbladder removal surgery? Are you able to eat normally? any complications like diarrhea something like that....please advise..as i'm little worried as my wife just had a baby and got 2 gallstone attacks..Dr's are recommending GB removal.
The surgery for me was "INSTANT" relief. They kept misdiagnosing me for over a year. They'd say it was acid reflux and stuff. I kept telling them that No this was not acid reflux. I passed out while visiting my parents one night. My Dad scooped me up and took me to the ER. My White cell count was around 20,000. They took me in and did a CT scan, and then an ultrasound, and found the gallstones. My liver was infected too by this time. I was so glad to get it out finally. That was in 1997.
Gall Bladder surgery isnt as bad the appendix surgery. I had both surgeries within an year and half. APpendix taken out was very painful, however Gall bladder removal just like walking in the park. I was an outpatient at the hospital for 8 hours for the procedure. The worst part is getting in / out cars and bed. My doctor prescripted me some Oxylcodone when I got home. That made me sicker than a dog so I got on vicodins.
To hear that you are doing well, makes me happy. I'm getting mine out in 3 days. I've been dealing with this pain for 7 months now, and they finally decided to do the surgery. I am only 16 and they said they were heasitant because of my age. but they said this while i was still 15, then in january i was getting worse, before it was just pain when i ate and certain foods triggered it more. But now its pain 24/7, throwing up, nausea, diarrhea and constipation. any suggestions for the days after?
@TrippySkippy7 I'm having mine taken out on the 24th of this month so just a day after tomorrow. Don't be worried we'll come out of it ok. This is my 4th surgery so I know what to expect and let me tell you from having had an incision twice and a laparoscopic surgery to remove appendix it's not that bad to have 4 small incisions it makes it a whole lot easier to move around than one big incision from side to side what'll probably be more painful is trying to get rid of the gas afterwards. Walk.
I just had mine removed on Sunday, 2/6/11, and today is Thursday the 10th. I'm healing SO FAST! I already was able to drive my car again! But it does feel better because you don't get those pains if you eat something.
my mother is 78 years old she had 28 stone in her gallbladder doctor advised her to do the operation we went to AL SHAFA HOSPITAL ISLAMABAD PAKISTAN and doctor remove the gallbladder by some new type of operation without cutting only fews hole in stomach and now AlhaumduLellah feel better.the doctor was phatan from swat pakistan.just one day she was in hospital
Im having my gallbladder removed soon, im dreading it, i have never had treatment like i will be having soon, im scared at the moment as i dont know what sort of pain to expect. How painful is it after the surgery?
I found out earlier today I have to get my gallbladder removed because its not working right its inflammed Im not gonna lie ive been crying on and off all day trying to deal with all of this but I just wanted to know what kinda of pain medication they give Im not one who likes pain I can deal with it but if I dont have to why should I you know? how long would they keep me in the hospital after surgery? when I wake up will I be hurting? I dont want to have surgery but I know I have to =(
@fixingtheproblem i havent had my surgery yet but they have told me (me going in for pediatric surgery >.<) That i will have to stay over night if all goes well, and they will give me oxy codone for pain there as well as for a few days for home. i hope you are feeling better soon. I suffered for 7 1/2 months untill they came to this conclusion.
@BytomGirl: The bad thing is that people do not realized two things one it can be reversed naturally and second the Gall bladder is very important. You can tell most of the people who had it removed, because since there bodies can't break down fat soluble vitamins they look sick.
@4chango I totally agree with you... stones can be removed naturally and we can save the gallblader that we really need to digest fats. I couldn;t believe it when the doctor told me that we don;t need this organ...I thought it was very strange. Why not remove just stones? Do they remove the whole organ because it's easier? Cheaper? Now, since I wrote my comment, I feel better, haven't had pains since. Taking olive oil with lemon juice at night also helps me get rid of stones.
@BytomGirl: Gallstone form when there is an imbalance between cholesterol, bile salts and bilirubin. The reason your olive oil and lemon help is because it is giving the liver the energy to assist with the gallbladder. The problem is that in order to reverse it you must give the body certain supplements that will work on the actual gallbladder and not just a supporting organ.
@BytomGirl-Part 2: Also it is not that it is easier, but rather that allopathic physicians do not fully understand the human body or herbal frequencies. The allopathic world depends on machines to tell them what is wrong and not Dia-Gnosis (Divine Knowledge). It is for this reason that the allopathic physicians’ diagnoses are only correct 40% of the time, making them wrong 60% of the time.
@4chango When I asked about the natural treatment, he looked at me like I am crazy...never heard of propolis, I had to explain to him what it is, had even no idea what the curcumine was and it is so helpful for the gallblader. It's sad that natural treatments can;t be a part of modern american medicine. And it's all about covering up the symptoms instead of treating the couse.
@BytomGirl-Part1: To answer the physician question; first the organ is removed not because it is cheaper, but because it is profitable in the long-term. People with no GB will eventually develop more problems, which creates repeat business for the hospitals, AMA and the doctors.
I just came home from surgery today and feel so much better I am sore but icing it helps plus when I feel pain that I can't handle I to take my Lortab just if I have too much pain. The bloating is down tremendously I stii have not learned how my diet should be so please advice. Thanks to all who post advice and those who are going to have it don't worry it will be fine.
Everyone who is gonna have this done, and is nervous. Remember, youre gonna be under general anesthesia...Dont worry, you wont feel a thing....I had this done 2 days ago, and all I remember is feeling the anesthesia making me fall asleep.
Having my gallbladder removed is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I suffered for 7 years with attacks. If you are scheduled for surgery, DO IT! Your life will completely change for the better and you will feel reborn. The surgery is easy to recover from and there is nothing to fear.
I just had my gall bladder removed, I feel your pain.... I just want to know if there is a way I can sleep better? Were you able to shower right away? How painful is it for the staples to come out? Ouch....
I am waiting for the surgery which i am suppose to have in 3-4 weeks. i am alone and don;t have anybody to be with me after the surgery...will I menage by myslef?
I just found out from my doctor (one of the top doctors in the world) that I can't eat a lot of oil from now on, or fat. I had to cut meat from my diet, which makes sense because I can't digest fat like I used to. Please let people know out there that we are prone to heart disease now if we continue to eat fat, as we don't digest it. I was told I could get heart disease within 3 years if I continues to eat oily foods. I should have rid the gallstones naturally, and yes, it can be done!
i just had mine taken out on Jun 21. woke up with little pain. i was more nauseous than anything. was up and walking the same night. not too bad. almost back to normal after 3 days. still can't lift anything heavy. still have the staples in me too. will get those taken out next in 3 days. they don't bother me though.

so you had a gastric bypass too? That is why the gall bladder acted up...losing weight and lots of it, will do something to the gall bladder and create stones.
I lost 90 pounds in 14 months, and was told my rapid weight loss was partially if not all to blame for the stones.
i have to get my gallbladder out in 5 weeks.i try not to dwell on it but i have to admit im real scared too.i have heard of patients dying from the surgery.i think its probally all in my imagination too. needless to say im still scared.
Hey everyone, got rushed to the hospital yesterday morning with pain like i never had b4, come to find out , i have to have my gall bladder removed, after all kinds of tsts and drugs at the hospital ,i felt much better ,and got a surgey date for june 1st, i abit over wheigt right now ''35lbs'' Im starting my diet today to make the surgery allitle easier for me and the docs, is there anything else that anyone can recomend for b4 and after the surgery anyting at all would be well appreciate it.ty
i am having my gallbladders remove in the morning and i am nervous -- scared -- and not sure what i can or cannot do after the surgery = people that i have met who's had the surgery acts like nothing has changed in the way they eat ... and it;s easy as 123 but this is removing an organ -- i don't get it -- i really don't
I had my gallbladder out last Thursday and had complications with leaking I had to get a stent put in a few days due to profuse leaking my abdobmen where the gallbladder was removed is very hard to the touch and the incision in my navel has turned my who navel black and blue will it ever soften up and stop leaking? It hurts like hell even with pain meds
You will do just fine. Nothing to be nervious about. And just think about how much better you will feel with it out. If it isn't working right, you want it out fast so you can feel better and move on. Let me know how things go. :)
@slmnsongbrd its the strangest thing i had my gall ladder out 7 days ago although i'm healing nicely i seem to be getting phantom pains there well i hope they are phantom how can it grumble if there aint nothing there to grumble lol

hey guys ! merry X-mas , i had mine out Dec. 03,2009, and i look at the stone that had been removed-- its color is black and a size of a grape! please help me what to it to maintain a good health..thank you guys;;lol
I had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago already. The stitch pain is a piece of cake compared to having an inflamed gallbladder! Its just difficult to cough and inhale deeply but other than that everything seems great. Thank you all for your comments!
I'm contemplating on whether I should get mine removed. I'm scheduled for surgery 3 days from now. I don't have pain right now that's why i'm reluctant. But during the 3 pain episodes I had, i was sooo begging already that they just cut me open.. Thanks for the video and all the comments.. Its giving me confidence to get the surgery.
i hope that everything went well with your surgery and that you are feeling much better after having it done. my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and i am nervous about it. i have been feeling well and no pain for the past 3 weeks. what should i expect during recovery?
@amjmata It will be a quick one! At least for me it was. I had a full diet day after the surgery. I didn't have problems with my bowels or urination. I just had problem coughing and getting to different positions due to the stitches. Other than that I was great. May you get well soon.. :D
@Charliecopperfield how do you feel now after gallbladder removal surgery? Are you able to eat normally? any complications like diarrhea something like that....please advise..as i'm little worried as my wife just had a baby and got 2 gallstone attacks..Dr's are recommending GB removal.
@vijayinfosec -- I just had mine out yesterday and I'm feeling good right now. A little sore is all. As far as long-term, my mother had hers out several years ago and she says she has not been affected by it at all. Although, she does get indigestion from time to time, but her doctor suggests it's from the use off her NSAIDS that causes that. I am really happy mine is gone for now. It's amazing how good I feel for just having surgery yesterday! I felt much worse after having my wisdom teeth out!
@vijayinfosec NO COMPLICATIONS WHATSOEVER.. I had a full diet day after the surgery. No food restriction. I'm not having diarrhea. I just had like a really rare episode of phantom pain but it was nothing more like mild muscle cramps on the post-op site.
hey there i recently was diagnosed with gallstones, and im 17 and i am really scare about the surgery, so i have a question. is it painful how long is the recovery is it true you get chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain for the rest of your life?
i had mine taken out 2 days ago, my stomach is swollen and bloated like a balloon, quite a bit of pain, but all in all feel better that its out. i had a 4cm x 5 cm stone lodged in the neck of the gallbladder and it was infected and the pain was un describale whenhaving the attacks.
Can you help me out? They checked me out and they say that it is not gall stones, yet i can't eat anything because i get the bad pain at night. they say it is inflammation of the gall bladder, they don't know yet if they have to operate..do you think I should get operated ? I look forward to your diagnostic. I don't have insurance. Thanks
I just had my gallbladder out friday. I had problems for about 7 weeks before they figured out the cause was my gallbladder. I had no gallstones and had 2 HIDA scans done. The first scan said my gallbladder was normal and working 58%. 2 weeks later I was admitted tin the hospital for a week of many tests. They finally did another HIDA scan and at first my gallbladder didn't show up. 2 hrs later it was faint and working at 10% so they took it out. I feel much better now just very sore.
SO glad I watched this,I am facing the surgery very soon after a stint in the hospital. They will be removing this week. Hope mine goes as well as yours. God Bless!
I have had left shoulder blade pain for awhile now. And a few months ago I had this immense pain in my upper right/ middle stomach region. I am hoping it is gall stones anyone have ideas? I am thinking of asking for an MRI of my left shoulder blade region since that is were the frequent pain is. I told my doctor about the pain in my left shoulder blade region...he said he had no idea and showed absolutely no concern. I am sure that his response is due to me not having medical insurance.
gall bladder pain or cholesytitis can be felt up the right shoulder for some reason, and below or around the right bottom rib, mine feels like a fold or sometimes a stabbing under my rib.
If it gets to feel stabbing and u get a fever it may be infected.
epsom salts 30 minutes before breakfast helps and avoid fats, thing is I get constipated without fats, cant win!
Im glad your recovering is going well for you, I just had mine removed this morning. i didn't know that this was so common in people. I have a slight pain every now and then, but the meds do help alot. My check up will be this following Tuesday...I was given 4 small incisions on my stomach, in which there all stitch up and covered up. As of now Im just sticking to a fluid diet until I go back to see my doctor.
Hi my name is Kris and in 8 days I'll be having surgery Congrats to all of you who've gone through this, I feel alot more confident heading into this. Bless you all. Kris
I have a few question's i have an appt the 19 with a surgen, i was told that i had to have my gallbladder removed, i have more that 10 gallstone's , is there any side efects , like weight gain... im worried that having it removed will make me gain weight.. have you had this problem. or any other ones ?
I had mine 2 months ago. And feel much better. I have a small apetite now? And i have lost 10 pounds with out trying. I do not miss all of the stomach pains. Although i do have a side effect, that is not great. all in all it was worth it. And after surgery, as far as pian, they had me on strong drugs, so i really just slept alot. And i was always so tired before the surgery, but i have more energy now.Who would have thought a bad gallbladder would make me so tired.
just had mine removed two days ago, in at 11am ,in recovery and awake at 1:15pm. 3 tiny holes and they were glued shut. really sore in the lower right area but all in all, not a bad experience.the pain that i had before the surgery was getting worse and i wanted it to end. already eating again but watching the really fatty stuff. just taking tylenol for the soreness, althought i was prescribed stronger meds if i needed the,so far all is good. hope this might help anyone considering the procedure
I had this done yesterday. I am in alot of pain. But right now the pain pills are kicking in. I am so afraid to take the dressing off of my inscions. i was told no shower until Saturday.
I actually had a type of 'glue' with my incisions but the itching still bothers me. And there's still some soreness and I tire easily. But I can eat some of the things I enjoy with no fear of an attack.
Rebecca, I just had the same surgery. I found you on youtube...and then I found all of your other videos and I just wanted to tell you that you look wonderful. You are very blessed to have such a happy marriage and life.
I just had gallbladder sugery in December! It wasn't removed, but separated from my pancreas.. I was getting VERY sick and getting recurrent pancreatitis! VERY painful... I'm glad you're doing better! -Joe Monto

I should have rid the gallstones naturally, and yes, it can be done!

so you had a gastric bypass too? That is why the gall bladder acted up...losing weight and lots of it, will do something to the gall bladder and create stones.
I lost 90 pounds in 14 months, and was told my rapid weight loss was partially if not all to blame for the stones.

I had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago already. The stitch pain is a piece of cake compared to having an inflamed gallbladder! Its just difficult to cough and inhale deeply but other than that everything seems great. Thank you all for your comments!

Had mine taken out yesterday morning (two days ago, Eastern Standard Time).
They drugged me up and I went all night long UNABLE to fall asleep!
Still...

Are you able to eat normally? any complications like diarrhea something like that....please advise..as i'm little worried as my wife just had a baby and got 2 gallstone attacks..Dr's are recommending GB removal.
vijayinfosec 6 months ago
@vijayinfosec -- I just had mine out yesterday and I'm feeling good right now. A little sore is all. As far as long-term, my mother had hers out several years ago and she says she has not been affected by it at all. Although, she does get indigestion from time to time, but her doctor suggests it's from the use off her NSAIDS that causes that. I am really happy mine is gone for now. It's amazing how good I feel for just having surgery yesterday! I felt much worse after having my wisdom teeth out!
cynopt 6 months ago
@vijayinfosec NO COMPLICATIONS WHATSOEVER.. I had a full diet day after the surgery. No food restriction. I'm not having diarrhea. I just had like a really rare episode of phantom pain but it was nothing more like mild muscle cramps on the post-op site.

Although i do have a side effect, that is not great. all in all it was worth it. And after surgery, as far as pian, they had me on strong drugs, so i really just slept alot. And i was always so tired before the surgery, but i have more energy now.Who would have thought a bad gallbladder would make me so tired.
