Fraps is terrible to begin with, only using single cores, you can set playclaw to use unused cores. Your computer is fine, PLayClaw is just superior software.

@BrandoCaLr1sian as i said, performance will vary greatly depending on your system. at the time i was recording this, it was to the same HDD that i was playing my game off of, at 5400 RPM. now i play on a better gfx card, with my processor heavily overclocked. i record to a second internal HDD at 7200 RPM, and get next to no lag with fraps.

@ExampleGamer Sony Vegas Pro 10. this is a pretty old unedited video, but vegas has some great options and isnt too hard to learn. i'd recommend adobe after effects for intense editing.

@confinedPC the 550 Ti is about twice the power of my old 5670 (on a 560 Ti now XD) so you shouldn't have a problem with either program. i use fraps almost exclusively now, as playclaw was having some severe jittering problems. Fraps has been almost flawless with a 2nd HDD, however for some reason it seems youtube is desyncing audio. i don't think its fraps, but there is a possibility. the only true problem i have with fraps is the mic recording sux.

Cool thanks because i have both fraps and now play claw it seems like for the fraps this if you set the recording to about 40 fps and maybe change the compression you might lose the random lag

@cheezandtoast as of right now i would recommend FRAPS. on my new setup, playclaws recordings have the jitters. with my 2nd HDD, fraps no longer has the random lag. the only downside is, fraps fucking HATES sony vegas, and if i want to record my voice as well, i have to use a diff program because fraps voice recording sounds like poop.

@Cpillin425 you are both right and wrong. playclaw is optomized for computers with a stonger cpu than GPU, while fraps uses the gpu more. i upgraded to a gtx 560 ti today, and am going to do some more testing

@snowconesreveiws Jesus 430w? Didn't see that in the specs lol. On EVGA b stock you can get a 560 for $150 and a ti for $180. Or even better for the monies a 1GB 460 for $89.99. But yeah, you need a better PSU haha. Personally iv'e had that 5670, a 8600GT, GTS 250, GTX 260, 275 sli, 460, 470, and now a 6970. For the money, as well as PSU, you could prolly get away with a 460 on that 430w. A 460 is currently the best card for the money out there too so you cant go wrong. 1 GTX 460>5670 Crossfire.

@vaguedustin mhm.depends how much money i find myself with, i'm doing a job right now that can get me anywhere between $150-$250. i usually buy from frys and tend not to order online. their prices for a 460 average around $150, a 560 is about $200, and a Ti is about $230. you can get a 550w Cooler Master for about $60. those are the numbers i'm looking at =P. I have a couple of other expensive things on my list, including a new 5.1 headset and a 1080p monitor, but i guess those can wait =3

Frys will price match to online retailers like Newegg and Amazon which is good, so if you find it cheaper online you pay the same in store, But at frys there is tax which is a bummer. I wasted like $100 in tax on my new computer parts from Frys. A good thing though is that 30 day no questions asked return. Say you wanted headphones but you didn't know what ones

@snowconesreveiws For sure, you could buy one from frys, try it for a month, take it back, buy another, try for a month, take it back ect.. Same works for upgrading computer parts. Say you have $150, and in 2 weeks you will have $250 but you don't want to wait that long for a better card. Buy a 460 now, take it back when you have more cash and get a 560, works great. Really you could do that every month forever to always have the best stuff coming out with out having to sell old stuff for cheap.

@snowconesreveiws Yes, it will still bottleneck the 570s if OC'd to 4GHz. OCing can only get you so far, but it's the architecture that is old. Go ask any enthusiast overclocker. Even when OC'd to it's hearts content, the 1055T (as well as the 1090T and 1100T) will bottleneck SLI 570s. My 1090T at 4.4GHz bottlenecked my 2 5870s, I've been down that road.

@StasAnanas 115; it's the map's theme. yea im not to good on memory types, but W/E. Fraps works better with a 2nd HDD or an external HD, but playclaw runs better on a multicore processor. some multithreading games get fucked up with playclaw, like CoD4, and i think fraps is the same.
