  • Maybe if we had more comprehensive sex-education in this country women wouldn't have as many abortions. People have sex. It's a fact, and we need to educated the masses about how to avoid conception so they don't have to have abortions.

AND. If Americans are so opposed to abortion, maybe adoption should be easier, and made available for all loving couples, regardless of their sexual orientation or nationality.

I hate all the bickering. We need to focus on the solutions and stop pointing fingers.

  • Planned Parenthood rocks! I just donated and rated this video:) Keep up the good work and helping women!

  • if the "living" baby inside of a mother can not live alone it is not living...and dontbring god into a talk about abortion everybody does not believe in god...

  • "If the 'living' baby inside of a mother cannot live alone, it is not living." If that statement were correct, it would mean a newborn baby is not "living". (i.e. Like the unborn baby, that newborn baby "cannot live alone" either. Like the unborn baby, that newborn needs complete care by another.) Yes, the unborn baby is alive and growing inside her mother. That is why the abortionist kills the unborn baby...otherwise she will continue to grow, move, and, later, be born.

  • @kweer58

she ment if it must be cared for by the mother and the mother only, when born a baby can be cared for by others. When a fetus is in the womb they cannot, in that case it is not a person, it is not alive.

  • Under the health care "reform" plan, all of us risk the losing the coverage that we currently have-- why should abortion coverage be any different?

  • I am appalled, though not surprised, that those behind this 'ad' can propagate such blatant lies in the public media. Equally, that those in management and executive positions would allow such to be broadcast without checking the facts. Does ANYONE in authority care about the truth any more?

  • every human being, from its first moment of conception until its last moment of breath at death, is sacred. This sacredness originates from man's creation. God willed that the human being be created in His image and in His likeness.

  • @Patriarch00

Hello? Your god, isn't what everyone believes in so please, don't go there. Why are you Bible suckers so intrigued with what women do with their vaginas? I'm not bashing the religion, just the people who take it too far. People like you.

  • According to whom?

  • according to definition: murder, the deliberate taking of a human life without just cause.

  • Here we go again. Women have rights to their own

womb. If abortion is done at a proper time period it

is a womans right. It's only her business and her's

    alone.

  • Stupak doesn't eliminate "affordable" abortion. Just not free ones. Planned Parenthood and other places get enough subsidies to keep them affordable, and still make the abortionists rick. In some states, the state pays for low income women to have abortions.

  • Center for Bio-Ethical Reform website.

  • And who are these people who want to control other people's choices? I don't believe that an embryo is a person. Abortion is a private choice for women and I don't want the government or someone else's church or religion telling me what I can and cannot do with my body. Plenty of people support abortion but don't want to be labeled murderers by the intolerant. If there is no conscious thought and the fetus can't live outside the womb, then it's just a collection of cells, not a person.

  • were you just a "collection of cells" when you were in your mother's womb? "were you (as an embryo) a person?" do you think it would have been okay for your mom to kill you because you "had no conscious thought". What about when you were fully formed? Is it okay then to pull you out legs first and plunge an instrument into your head and suck out your brain as in partial birth abortion? How is that justified in ANY situation. Your lying to yourself.

  • If you don't want the government involved in American's choices (including your own) as you stated, then it shouldn't be in healthcare. The government should make the choice for me that I have to pay for another woman's abortions. Whether or not you are pro-life or pro-abortion you should agree that no one should be asked to pay for abortion against their will. What about our choice not to be involved in the abortion movement?

  • What possible right do politicians have to determine what women do with their bodies? I continue to be amazed at this country's backward beliefs!

  • Every law determines what people (including women, of course) can do with their bodies. It's an obligation of law to protect those who can't protect themselves, like the innocent unborn.

  • @scragsma

they are not innocent nor guilty they have one can only be innocent if they can be guilty of something as well.

  • I love Kathleen Turner's voice! This is just an amazing and helpful video! Thanks!

  • Abortion IS healthcare when it saves the life of the mother!

  • Abortion is almost never necessary to save the life of the mother. Those cases are less than 1% of abortions and in those cases the human fetus usually won't survive anyways.

Abortion should not be funded with the money of fellow Americans.

  • You know what? I don't think that abstinence-only education and so-called "crisis pregnancy centres" (aka anti-choice religious organisations) should be funded with the money of fellow Americans.

Sucks to not get what you want, doesn't it?

  • And that is THE ONLY TIME!!! never any other time is it?

  • This is so rare as to be nonexistent. Not just 'less than' 1%, but a TINY FRACTION of 1%.

  • Stupak ammendment stops taxpayer money being used for abortions. Simple as that every recent poll shows a STRONG majority of the American people support that.

    Abortion is not health care.

  • yeah...I'm going to go ahead and ask you to look up The Hyde Amendment on Wikipedia and then reconsider if that's really what Stupak is about. Go ahead, take as much time as you need.

  • The Hyde Amendment covers other government funding sources and not he health care bill.

So you hold that the Hyde Amendment bans federal funds from being used to purchase insurance plans that cover abortions?

  • Stupak and Hyde wording is almost identical. And Hyde doesn't apply to most of what the current health care "reform" bills cover.

AND this ad claims that Stupak would ban privately-funded insurance from covering abortions, which is flatly false.
