  • GREAT!!!

    It's all i can say!

  • As Sakura is flower amongst flowers, Katana is sword amongst swords, Japanese culture is culture amongst cultures.

  • すげぇ・・・

  • Oh wow...got shivers. 4 years have passed and I STILL get those damn goose bumps Rin' is amazing! Woot!

  • INCREDIBLE TALENT , 5 STARZ GIRLS AND I LOVE THE 100 YEAR OLD PLUS INSTRUMENTS YOU PLAY THERE PROPLY WAY WAY OLDER ?

    THANKS , RIN , AL

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • cette chanson est vraiment génial

  • いいね

  • what is that bass-guitar-like instrument called?

  • @sccooty I think you mean the 'Biwa'

  • seriuosly, MTV ?? I thought they only doing pop shit, not awesome song of this level

  • @SolarPhoenix61 lol, MTV was better a few years ago when it was ALL music, all of it was much better than now too >.<

  • Honestly, who would take the time to come and dislike such a song? I can't help but wonder.

  • so delicate, like bamboo leaves drenched in starlight and rustled by the winds of Time; music like this reveals something sweet of the Japanese spirit. A love of fragile tenuous beauty and transient elegance hanging suspended in a moment like a Sakura petal just poised to drift upon a warm breeze...

  • I like this song.

  • This totally beats all the modern music crap :)

  • For some reason, this reminds me of ancient magic or something mysterious. I love it. :D

  • this song makes meeh think of how beautiful life is.

  • wow this is epic! why did I not try this till I heard her on a miku miku dance tutorial !

  • @mumoCMhq I enjoy some J-Pop, including some of the American-sounding stuff. It's funny you should mention Japanese people who don't like Japanese music, because when you think about it, a lot of Americans also don't like American music, and prefer to listen to Japanese or some other kind of music instead. The grass is always greener on the other side, I guess!

  • gracias girls very good song gracias

  • I love rin why did they stop :(

  • aloha ... mahalo for the video. I find this song very interesting to meditate with. The instrumental is awesome=)

  • wonderful from south wales, uk .. we love you Japan

  • wonderful fromsouth wales, uk .. we love you Japan

  • 千年の虹もいいよね!

  • Such a nice song!!!Perfect ancient style!!!!

  • JAPAN FIGHTING!!!♥

  • WOW I am impressed!!! Love Nippon! Grow and be big again!!!

  • This song is BEYOND beautiful! Xezlec is right...Japan keeps their traditional music along with their modern. Its just.... No words can describe how amazing this song is, and how talented Rin' is.

  • these woman were the first ones that got me into japanese music

  • My favorite song by Rin' EVER it's so Epic

  • nice!

  • I miss Rin'

  • For some reason I just can't say "NO" to this music. 8O XO

  • ...Why is there an alien at the end?

  • THIS IS POP MUSIC.NOT TRADITIONAL JAPAN MUSIC.

  • @ashiwaraouji

Relax my friend, there's no need to get excited even though people call this traditional music. It might even inspire some to take more interest in traditional music. And yes this is J-pop but it bears great resemblance to traditional music (nota bene the instruments for example) and I do believe that this genre is called enka. I've even read that some do not want to categorize enka as J-pop music. But I've never been to Japan myself so I wouldn't know for a fact.

  • @ashiwaraouji I won't say it's pop. It's more like traditional music mixed with some elements of western music

  • I like flute sound at the begining! It's really amazing! o.O

  • @hanamikawaii It really is... But u have to say: EVERYTHING about this song is amazing! Totally love Rin'

  • Comment removed

  • brilliant!in this kind of Japnese songs I could feel the China we've lost for a long time.

  • Sucks how they disbanded....their songs will live on though!

  • @imatureflip22 Mana Yoshinaga (one of the members) released a solo album last year and the style and sound is not too different fron Rin'. It's worth a listen, but might be difficult to get hold of, outside of Japan.

  • @IfUfindthisURlost What's the name of the album? o-o

  • @kewlemogirl It's called Tamayura 玉響 you can hear about a minute from each song on Mana's Myspace page, scroll down to the 10 track listening station.

  • これは邦楽ではない。

    ただポップをやっている周りで日本の楽器を鳴らしているだけ。

    こんなまがい物にだまされる人が500人あまりもいることに驚いた。

This is not a traditional music of Japan.

There is not a meaning performed with a Japanese instrument either.

They are performing an ordinary, pop music. It is pop music decorated with the sound of the Japanese instrument.

Ah there are 545 foolish one.

  • where can i get this music? its hard to find and not all of the songs are on i tunes!!!!!

  • 5 guys are deaf

  • man!!!!!!!!!!! Rin is SO awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • かわいい ^^

  • 5 people have hearing problems.

  • woooooooow~~ Awesome Band

  • At least MTV in japan is still all about music instead of some gay reality show.

  • @IsRens even a real gay reality show would be funnier then the reality shows we have.

  • lol Mtv in japan XD

  • So beautiful! Lovely!!

  • I love this.Great vid :)

  • bueno !!

  • They're such an amazing band! They play with their traditional instruments, they sing beautifully, AMAZING!!

  • The bamboos kind of remind me on one scene in the horror game Kuon (where bodies were struck with bamboo spears/sticks). And it reminds me of fatal frame.

    The music is great!

  • I love that they use traditional Japanese instruments. I usually can't stand J-pop because of how over the top it is with synthesizers, but this takes the exact opposite approach and it's great.

  • tis is amazing..loven it

  • wow japan gets to keep their traditions with spunk and we have nonsense rappers with half naked dancers :(

  • この完成度の高さ。。。

  • I am confident that this is Japanese. The caption is in Japanese, the title does not sound Chinese, nor does the singing. I got Rin's worst album. I got Inland Sea TERRIBLE. Far too americanized..just not good at all. So far, I've listened to Sakura Sakura, and now this gorgeous song by Rin' and I've regained respect for these girls. Captivating. Domo arigato gozaimasu, 'sakura846123' ...sou desu.

  • @SlytherinGeisha

You are right, RIN' is a Japanese band :) And I have to agree. While I consider "Inland Sea" not a bad album at all, it is very much "for Americans/Europeans" (although "What the Rain Said" song is lovable). It actually reminds me of latest American album of Utada that sounds like a well-crafted copy of US pop.

  • is this japanese or chinese

  • oh!! me fasinan estas chicas como cantan y como tocan son

    realmente geniales...

ya qiero tocar el yoko asi jejje

    creo que esimposible

    hay como sea esta genial!!!

  • I agree - it's exactly like orgasm to the ears;D

  • 相当不错 非常不错 ..太好听了..有感觉 跟我们的音乐不是同一个风格的.

  • 喔!...好美的音乐...跟咱们的音乐风格不一样啊... 不错~

  • im not japanese but i have a total japanese pride even though im vietnamese!

  • I absolutely love this song! I swear I was born in the wrong country... :-/

  • @BuryMe8 lol, i have the same feeling to you

  • @mitayashi lol i'm surprised i'm not the only one! :) my bf is in Japan right now, I'm totally jealous!!!! lol I can't wait to hear all about it! I was scared to go because I thought that maybe the food wouldn't be as good as I had hoped and stuff like that.. so I guess it's good to have someone else go first! haha He loves the food there and I can't wait to hear all about it! :)

  • @BuryMe8 lol, has he returned? i've been in japan once and that was amazing.

  • @mitayashi yep! :) his flight came in yesterday! :) He loved Japan and I can't wait to go one day myself! He took tons of pictures and bought presents for me - so I'm content with that for now! lol :)

  • @BuryMe8 whoa! so lucky.. i'm jealous! hahahahaha! ^_^

  • @mitayashi Lol ^_^ the pictures of the shrines and the rock gardens were beautiful and I liked the presents! i can't wait to go one day! :D

  • @BuryMe8 hahahahahah!

  • really relaxing if you close ur eyes

  • 2:43 What is that in the middle among the trees?...Looks like an alien

  • 3:14 there it is again...what is that?

  • This song fills me with bliss. Seeing Rin perform it as I hear the song, OMG... I wish I could give this video ten stars!

  • awesome..lovely ..love all of them ....

  • Orgasm to the ears! I totally agree with TimeManInJail.

I discover them recently... they are outstanding. You should nod to people how make their tradition music. It is a spectacle. I love this music and and i Hail these women..!

Their song is like a crystal flow of water. I just love them. I do not know what else to say...

    I am speechless...

  • There like Djs But with strings and flutes its amazing

  • anyone have a download link for this song???? :D

  • what an amazing band. you've got to admire japan. unlike some countries, they've managed to cope with modernity while preserving their traditional culture in a remarkable way. it's like japan's culture just sort of reacted to the 20th century by growing with it and incorporating it rather than by trying to stop it, and that appears to have been the right strategy, judging by the continued popularity of traditional pasttimes like go and those musical instruments in japan.

  • @Xezlec traditional culture=comfort women, death penalty, torture, whaling...? i get where you're coming from, but a little critique would do some good.

  • @Dazzlie What good, exactly? You don't actually have to be universally critical of everything you see. It's OK to point out nice things sometimes. Japan's environmental and human rights record is still probably better than my country's, so I don't have room to talk. Don't know about you.

  • @Dazzlie .. your absolutely right about those things.. its true, japan has a bloody history that knows no bounds.. but in the end, at the end of the bloody rain of history, whats left behind,.. i think is also important.

  • @Xezlec One of the best ways for Chinese to find their lost culture is to listen to the Japanese music.

  • Did anyone know the name of the one in red dress who plays flute. (She plays two instruments, Flute and Biwa) Her flute sound is so lively. I like her very much.

  • Nagasu Tomoka aka 'Tomoca', check out their website it's lovely!

I really like the fact that this band mixes old and new.

  • Vocals/Koto/Sangen/Jushichi-gen: Mana Yoshinaga Vocals/Biwa/Shakuhachi: Tomoka Nagasu Vocals/Koto/Sangen/Jushichi-gen: Chie Arai

  • you never see Japanese music on the European MTV... They really shoulddo that!

  • @ILoveJapanful

on the american MTV, they show crappy worthless reality shows.

  • i love this music is RIN they make and play so beautiful music!!my ears cant handle it!!

  • SO COOL

  • orgasm to the ears..

  • I agree - it's exactly like orgasm to the ears;D

  • Amaizing

  • PERFECT !

  • any cd rin in philippins.there are no rin cd's in comic allay

  • I wish I could see them live!

  • unfortunately they disbanded in 2009, becoz too many people like AAPEJ downloaded their music :(

  • eth is AAPEJ?

  • this song is so beautiful and it makes me forget my stresses

  • Anyone knows where to download these?

    I can't find them anywhere.

  • iTunes has a vocal version and an instrumental version for sale.

  • its  japanese =o=;;

  • I put this on an SD card and use it as BGM for Endless Ocean. Fits quite well.

  • It's Japanese traditional music, and there is no Inca in Alaska xD

  • pyramids of alaska............umm I ahte to be the one to tell you there are no Incas in alaska, and there has never been any pyramids or evidence of a society smart enough to make them their in early times.

  • Lol. I think it was the "inuits" that were in the Alaskan region? And pyramids? Wasn't there a pyramid in AVP in alaska or some artic region? Someone watches too many movies whoever said that crap. I'm too lazy to look at the previous comments for that crap x]

  • who ever told you that you probably should not listen to them they are really stupid because the Inca's were in south American. and why would you believe that this is traditional Inca music to begin with? I sorry i know your getting a lot of crap from this comment but serious.

  • Awesome song! I've been looking for something like this for a while now!

But, what the hell is the big glowing triangle-headed thing in the forest?

And also, WOW, they played that on MTV! I didn't know MTV was that cool :P

  • I think it's either suppose to be a Kami (Gods, base it around shinot plz), A Yokai(Spirit) or a Shinobi. (Ninja)

  • It's the Sakitama.

  • It's still a Kami. *shrug*

  • what's a kami?o-o

  • A kami is another word for 'god' or 'Spirit' in Japanese Shinto religion.

Also, the Kami can be anything. From a goddess (Amaterasu) to a rock or snow (Yuki onna).

  • That would be Mtv for Japan. Lol

  • Usually when you see MTV on things like this it's actually MTV asia. (Or is it MTV-Japan?) They actually have their own branch with awards and everything. I wish MTV over here in America were could enough to play stuff like this.

  • MTV over here is like a network, a channel that shows music and music videos. What I heard about MTV in Asia is that MTV does not mean a network or a channel, but it
