  • Vote up if u wanted 2 cheer on the guy who stole it

  • This was Smokey and the Bandit 4.

  • only in alabama lool

  • I've actually had a first lap in my stop motion crazier than this. I started the stop motion, their was a 16 car pile up where the wall was knocked over and a car went of the track and hit a tree, and now its under red flag for rain.

  • @KK3869 you should feel proud man, a man from Stewart Haas Racing told people to watch this over Twitter

  • carl johnson would be proud "stab outa here cj"!

  • @mike978508 Gotta agree with you. "C'mon CJ!!!" LMAO.

  • Rosco P. Coltrane was the arresting officer

  • 0:59 a fight over "i want his autograph!!!"

  • If this happened today, it'd be more exciting than the actual race at Talladega

  • @krystalloversteve I think the race will be more exciting, krystalloversteve.

  • Why were the cops chasing them? It is a circle, where is he gonna go?

  • @johnjvrambo - lmfao exactly

  • @johnjvrambo I think its a Talladega, which isnt an oval.

  • @BlogsbytheDay The whole point of the comment was that the track has no red lights or usable exits on the track, so where was he gonna go?

  • @johnjvrambo it makes it look more funny

  • @johnjvrambo made my day lol

  • If this was today, they would be cheering the pace car on, not them fuckin pigs!

  • its sad how they all rough him up

  • the worlds gone crazy

  • The fans aren't cheering the officials who stopped the guy, they are giving this amazing person a standing ovation!!! :D

  • @Carpythesharky "This amazing person?" Take enough meth and people will do anything. (And yes, meth was widely available in Alabama and everywhere else in 1986.)

I find NASCAR fans intensely interesting, at least as interesting as the races. Do y'all think most NASCAR fans would look up to this guy, or aspire to do this kinda thing themselves? I heard the cheering and I thought yeah! They got the guy, and they got him pretty quickly with no one getting hurt. Now they can get the race on!

  • And Sheriff Lawson wins the race!

  • The Officials do a better job at stopping the criminal then the police. Priceless!

  • HAAAA and streakers think their cool and got balls???? This guys got fuc@#in nuts of steel!!!! Yeah its probably Ricky Bobby lol

  • now there would be 150 squad cars, guns drawn, and they'd hogpile his ass. it's unfortunate the times we live in.

  • Bandit ? awesome

  • Never get this in any other motor sports!

  • there not applauping the officals there applauding the man!

  • I want this guy's autograph.

  • Took two hours but I finally found his name! And for 1$ Ill tell you.

Thats .50 cents an hour you cheap skates

  • Leave Ricky Bobby alone

  • Once detained this guy said "At the time it would have been dumber not to steal the pace car"

  • absolute legend

  • This is way better than a dude running on the track/field with his cock hanging out.

  • steeling the pace car is equil to streakin at a red sox yankees game

  • Do we have the name of the 2nd broadcast announcer? The first one is Bob Jenkins, whose voice is forever in NASCAR, but I can't tell the other.

  • @YamatoCharm Sounds like Dick Berggren...not sure tho.

  • @don312000 That has got to be Larry Nuber... I don't think Dick did anything until tv pre-90's.

  • Hey! Hold my beer! Watch this!

  • HE STOLE A 89 TRANS AM! That shithole..

  • HE STOLE A 89 TRANS AM!

  • lol i cant get over this! HE HAD A TRANS AM i would of stole that bitch and left the track haha. GO HARD! that had some balls doing that

  • only in america...

  • BALLS

  • @ITSBECAUSEIMMEXICAN

    Big ones.

  • i dont think they were cheering for the crews that caught him, i think they were cheering for the guy who stole it xD

  • HAHA, this is funny.

  • They weren't applauding the officials. They were applauding this guy for his pure balls.

  • 7 people have no sence of humor AT ALL!!!

  • to bad he didnt give up a fight to the police so the public has 2 events to watch :P

  • this is twice as funny if you play the "Dukes of hazzard" theme song at the same time.

    syncs up almost perfect!

  • I think i'd popped in Sweet Home Alabama as i drove around the track lmao

  • 7 people are from his family

  • that is funny

  • you know your a redneck when you steal a pacecar at a nascar event

  • what if the police were stupid enough not to block off the track...and just kept goin around and around...lol

  • i woulda been singing East Bound and Down during

  • this is 100x better than running onto the field, dude jacked a car and drove it around the track! haha

  • Can someone add the Benny Hill theme music?

  • kickass man whoever this dude was gets my respect i always pictured doing that at a race

  • Comment removed

  • Wow only one cop car? Gayass rednecks for ya.

  • @RunerRacerPeniguin5 he's on a race track theres only 2 ways in and out of Talladega he was just having fun and living out every nascar fans dream i would love to steal a pace car but i wouldent actualy do it lol

  • @Brianwwecw48 True!

  • @RunerRacerPeniguin5 You're making fun of rednecks and you can't even spell runner or penguins right... Moron.

  • @monstermandragger rolls eyes, its a old account.....

  • Haha gotta try this

  • I doubt the crowd was cheering the cops and officials ... i think they were cheering the drunk guy stealing the pace car that we all wish we could have been

  • police brutallity!! 0:58

  • @99boyz thats the first thing i thought.. ripping the man out by his hair just because he drove a damn car.. typical american police for you.

  • @gatoralley01 Come ON....it was Alabama in 1986...he should have known what was gonna happen...look at that deputies arms...he hasn't been lifting all year to ask the guy to get out nicely.

  • @countrysquishy so youre justifying what he did because he lifts weights?

  • Some call him a nut. I call him a visionary. I salute you, sir, wherever you may be.

  • ha ha ha, my uncle told me about his friend, uh, drunk off Johnny Walker, ha ha, who stole a pace car, but until I seen this vid, I didn't believe him, nice, I know a crazy fucker, hahaha

  • that guy is my fucking hero.

  • they're not applauding the officials lol

  • That's amazing. I bet they increased security around the pace car after this, lol

  • I love the title, crazy nut.

  • stupid rednecks

  • theres a police car on a nascar track, now ive see it all lol too bad a police car wont pull jimmie johnson over in a race and put him in handcuffs lol

  • his name is Mike Miles

    Ironworkers Local #92

  • epico.

  • now thats hillbilly

  • That is so funny.

  • This ain't indy-

must be the Dukes of Hazard

Generally, I don't like their tires...

  • who da fuck steals da pacecar?

  • dude awsome, I've never heard or seen this at all. why didn't they show this on TV!!

  • should have plowed through the road block

  • Probably thought about it, but it would have severely damaged the pace car (possibly disabling it) and with the people around, that could have resulted in manslaughter.

  • This isn't Need for Speed IIRC

  • OMG !!! Could ask for a more severe ass whooping? Delaying the race? They should have just tossed this dude back into the Grand Stands and let the Fans police their own.

That said. Kudos sir. You now have an unrivaled claim to Brass Balls.

  • "if you've ever stolen a pace car at a nascar event, you might be a redneck"

  • Thats well funny.

What did he think was actually going to happen?

That he was going to make a break for the highway?

    Loser.

    Great vid

  • There is a tunnel to the outside from the infield, but thankfully he didn't go for it.

  • My hero,..a guy with guts.

Buddy I know the time in jail was worth it to be a part of history....now they guard that car like gold.

    But you are the man!

  • to the miss informed this trans am is not a GTA. GTAs came out in 87, this race was in 86, The body appearance looks like a GTA, but its just a regular High optioned Trans Am with GTA wheels that were the first year to come out honeycomb rims.

  • haha no way.. the fans def. had to love this.

  • if it was a GTA , it was a pretty bad ass car for its time...

  • well he cant steal a Nascar.....so the Pacecar is the next best thing.

  • The next best thing would be a cup car

  • Fucking rednecks.....

  • Drunken ones at that! I would think he got more than his pee,pee slaped!

  • Put some rules on it, and you have a brand new racing event!

  • This looks like 1988 or 1989 because that looks like a 88 or 89 Trans Am GTA.

  • LOL that was funny

  • Why Would You Do That???

  • Man, I bet that guy got his ass kicked when they got him back to the garage--or wherever they took him.

  • n 1986 at Talladega Superspeedway, a drunk man found the keys to the pace car. Amazed at his luck the man jumped into the pace car and took off joyriding around the 2.66 mile oval. The crowd along with a nationwide television audience watched in amazement as the pacecar zoomed around the track with several police cruisers in pursuit. The man finally pulled over and was arrested.

    LOL

  • rotfl, man I don't care who you are, that's funny, lawz. That is the singlemost awesome thing you can do at a sporting event, he's got balls

  • did he realize it was an oval? Anywhere he tried to go, it would bring him right back to where he started...

  • LOL! He was probably too drunk to notice

  • how would he think that would work out???

  • What year was this? I am with ericstranne....that would have been crazy if he wrecked it....lol

  • This guy must of been stoned or something.

  • Yes! now you can play real life GTA, NASCAR edition! lol

  • Thats right, for a cool price of 20 years in Jail, you too can become Just like this guy!

  • Yes - Bob Jenkins and the late Larry Nuber on the ESPN call.

  • Is that bob jenkins?

  • haha.. wat if he stole someones race car and drove it ai 175 mph... and then wrecked it! haha

  • Damn the good olds days of old!

  • Whats funny is that im related to him...

  • i bet u are...

  • i really am

  • now this is hilarious!

  • Ahh, if only things like this would happen again, Nascar would still be worth watching.

  • i dont think the fans were applauding the officials who ruined this mans fun

  • No, they weren't...you know how announcers are though

  • LMAO a NASCAR race just turned into an episode of COPS!

    XD

  • At least this guy can now say that he's drove at the Indy 500!!! (and in a Trans Am GTA) - Excellent!

Worth a fine and slap on the wrist in my book!!! (thats what you would get in England anyway)!

    Class!!!!!

  • can you read the description, or see that the car says talladega on the front bumper, and that the track looks nothing like indy

  • Fair comment bro!

  • NASCAR = most attended sporting events in the world.

  • sebringdnf= just got owned

  • badass

  • that is totally badass!

  • :57 the guy shoves through and just pulls the guy out by his hear HAHAHA :-D

  • U know the real driver just wanted to smash his face in with his helmet.

  • Dude had room to get through! Wuss should have keep going.

  • I think he wanted the race to start by taking the pace car our.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • This was a year before I was born. lol never heard about or saw this.

  • A Pontaic Trans Am GTA. I would risk going to jail for one of those. lol

  • wow never knew that happened lol

i wonder how much time that dude spent

recon he got a felony for that what a idiot

  • 1986 was a fucked year.

  • only at talladega...hahaha

  • where did he think he was going. lol

  • About that race... the cars were unrestricted. No restrictor plates. A pretty darn good race if I remember. Bobby Allison won, I think

  • Where did he think he was going to go? It's like like that track was going to lead anywhere? Even if he did make it through the infield, it's not like that pace car would have been hard to spot.

  • At least more entertaining than the race. Not sure whether the cops have the jurisdiction to arrest the guy?

  • Should've done it naked!!! Never thought I'd see a guy pulled over on a track by the cops.... Better than the race....

  • I read about this I didn't think I could find the video. Thanks for posting this.

  • Hell yea.

  • That would have been awesome to see in person lol funny stuff

  • I dont think they were clapping for the officials

  • I was thinking the same thing lol

  • hahaha that musta been some joy ride

  • i wonder how fast he got to

  • NASCAR always ruins a good finish!

  • WHO LEFT THE KEYS IN THE CAR !!!!

  • awesome, my hero

  • Smart ass

  • Good story for the grandkids.

  • I forgot all about that...I wonder what happened to that guy (actually I don't wonder that much)...

  • of course a pace car was always either a pontiac or chevy. 80s being pontiac cause it was the only fast car. hehe. jk

  • I remember this it was the first race I went to at Talladega.

  • Talk about no where to go, lol

  • i know right

    lol

  • He's my hero.

  • Did he ever get a lap time?

Or a lap dance from bubba in the Alabama slammer?

  • i was just going on a beer run,dude!!!!

  • And Indy is full of people who have nothing better to do than watch NASCAR related videos?

I don't really believe that, but I just wanted to say it...

  • It would definately be worth jail...imagine the story you would have!

  • if you want to see what this clown looks like...look up dumbass in the dictionary.

  • Shit, If I saw a Trans Am Pace Car I'd wanna steal it too.

  • he must have been high!
